The topic of severely over-thinking things that don't really need to be overthought about...

When I was younger I used to over think why Shadow looked so much like Sonic and thought up these crazy time travelling scenarios where Eggman told Gerald about Sonic and it influenced Shadow's design, then Shadow's game and Silver came along xD

Edit: Although I guess I could have just looked at Amy... Whoops xD

This is overthinking? It's blatantly obvious.

Of course people like to say he generates wind by movement when this definitely is not true 100% of the time. Sonic Wind, the Crest of Wind and the way he manipulates wind in the SatSR fmv before Night Palace as well as his soul/ghost taking on the form of a gust of blue wind in '06 prove that he's aerokinetic.

It's over-thinking.

Sonic Wind is some sort of weird multiplayer non-canon ability, used only in one instance in SA2 to balance out a fight. Notably the player never has this move. The Wind Crest in SatSR is merely an upgradable ability. I'd never think of it as some sort of canon power. That, and everything else like the Blue Tornado fall into the same category.

Sonic is not aerokinetic. He's just fast.

Sonic Wind is only questionably canon; it might exist only for balance reasons and to flesh out the Sonic vs Shadow 2 fight. And in SatSR he was using literal magic from a genie, so it proves he's aerokinetic as much as it proves he's pyrokinetic.

the Blue Tornado fall into the same category.

Because being fast lets you hover in midair and spin in a circle, fast enough to generate a tornado. :V

Sonic Heroes' Tornado Move still falls into the canon category imo.

I've always wondered about the Origins of Sonic's world and it's landscapes, like those Totem poles in Greenhill, and who carved those giant loop de loops? and who the hell sat there and etched a perfectly symmetrical and equal chequered pattern into the rock works beneath grass level?

I also wondered why Eggman built Chemical Plant as big as he did, and why he's so hell bent on taking over a planet when he's built so many utopia's across the games, as well as his own Casino City?

Also doesn't explain how he can do this at 2:32 in;
I did explain this; it's SatSR, it's genie magic. The ring even glows right before that.

Sonic Heroes' Tornado Move still falls into the canon category imo.
The Blue Tornado is cartoonish super-speed.

There is a reason why he is the Knight of the Wind.
Yes, because he is like the wind. He's fast, he's a drifter, he follows his own path. Honestly it's more meaningful as a metaphor than literal control over wind...

edit: I know this is a topic about ridiculous overreaching theories but I still want to argue against this one, because it takes the magic out of things by making it actual magic.

Yeah, Sonic never consistently has wind based abilities nor are they as established like Shadow's chaos powers, so it's just as easy to say he doesn't have aerokinesis, as it is to say he does.

Not sure if this effects the argument in any way but I'm sure the Sonic Rush Level Title Cards mention something about Sonic and wind, can't remember exactly what it says though lol.

I prefer to believe that Sonic does have a powerful control and connection to the wind (Because of Chaos Energy). I also prefer to believe that Tails has some limited thunder powers and possibly limited wind powers also (Chaos) and Knuckles has control over Fire and a mystical connection to the Earth (Also due to Chaos).

Sonic is not a wizard. Why can't he just be fast? Why can't he use his speed to win, instead of invoking his secret wizard powers?

I always though Sonic could control not wind but kinectic energy.

you know, being able to move at very high speeds with no prior acceleration, stopping from 2900 mph+ to zero in a dime and all that blue things that follow him when he is running.

seems like energy to me.

It's fairly subtle but it's actually implied in Sonic Unleashed as well as Colours that Sonic does not like seafood.

The food items "Smoked Mohn", "Molsk", "Live Honker" and "Canned Horror" are all fish or seafood yet have very very low EXP values when consumed by Sonic. If you interpret EXP gained from food as being nourishment that he utilizes to grow stronger and faster and therefore level-up then sensically, seafood would realistically provide a fair amount of EXP proportional to it's nutritive value.

It's actually pretty obvious that the EXP values of food also takes into account how much Sonic likes it. He hates eating anything from Eggmanland, hates rotten food items such as the "Sandwich?" item you can buy from Wentos and also seems to have a strong distaste of the aforementioned seafood. This is possibly referenced in Colours when he shows distaste at the mention that Eggman's Bucket o' Sushi restuarant now uses fish (Fact: Sushi isn't strictly a fish dish).

However, if you take into account that tastiness is a factor in EXP value from food then Sonic apparently likes fast food (Chili Dog, Big G Steak, Hamburger, Fried Chicken, Lin's Meat Buns, Hero Sandwich) cake (Strawberry Cake, Popcake, Dougnut) and fruit (Dureek, Apple, Dondora Fruit, Grapes, Banana)

Apparently the food served at Eggman land is pretty vile to begin with according to both Sonic and Chip's reactions to the food you buy, so I think Sonic dislikes it because it quite possibly is vile food that only Eggman would ever think to eating, that and add to the factor that Sonic hates Eggman, is probably why he gains so little EXP from it.

Sonic is Blaze's opposite, right?

Blaze can control fire, right?

Sooooooo.....

Sonic hasn't quite mastered the element of water, so he tends to drown rather frequently.

So Sonic controls water, obviously. In the same way the Sol emeralds are fire-themed, and the Chaos emeralds were named after Chaos, who is made of water.

Canon.

Chip's reaction to Egg Corn - "Tastes like sawdust"

His reaction to Eggs-quisite lunch - "Smells like motor oil"

Egg Candy - "SOUR SOUR SOUR SOUR!!!"

Egg Puff - "It's filled with sour tasting creamy stuff" (Note that the description for Egg Puff in the shop says it's filled with cream. Does Eggman fill his Egg Puff's with rancid cream!?)

Egg Dog - "Is the really a chili Dog? It's more like a rubber dog! And what's this green stuff?" (Note how the Egg Dog's image shows the bread looking greenish and mouldy with a green topping that is presumably chili)

...Yeah. I don't blame Sonic and Chip for hating Eggmanland's food offerings :P I always found it weird though how you could feed Sonic mouldy food. Poor Hedgie.

Eggmans taste buds must be severely eroded by now...

It's funny when you read the description for Egg Corn. It states that Eggman munches on it all the time yet in Chip's opinion, it tastes like sawdust whilst Sonic strongly dislikes the taste of it.
