[ROLEPLAY] The SSMB Gemini Tournament! SIGN-UPS!

Hark! The time for battle has come!

Ladies and gents of the board, let me indulge you on a little bitty something about me. Before I joined The Sonic Stadium, I was a prolific member on this forum called VGLan. On that forum, there was nothing I loved more than roleplaying. In fact, that's how I spent my early internet years up until the site shut down (I hear it's undergoing a reboot of sorts, but we'll see how that goes)! That flame that kept my love for RPing going died when VGLan closed... but now, that flame is being rekindled on this very board! And what better way to reignite this flame than with the flames of battle!?

I hereby declare that the SSMB Gemini Tournament, or the SSGT, is now open! A fighting RP tourney of sorts, because why not?

Now, you may be asking "durrhurr, y teh 'gemini' in teh name, noob" or something along those lines. I'll get to that part in a minute! First, we gotta go through the basics!

Rules

1. Anyone who takes part can only sign up as one character - themselves. This tourney doesn't have "SS" for nothing! Users fight as themselves against others. The moment you sign up in this tourney is who you'll represent! Those who roleplay as actual characters in their usernames and personas are accepted, so users like the BlazBlue crew, Wario, and so on, are in. You are free to use anything in your profile history as well (example, Faseeh: even though you went from Faseeh to Christmas NiGHTS, you can still represent yourself).

2. However, to ensure fair play, there is one thing we need to get out of the way. Powers. We have to make sure that everyone is on equal ground from the get-go, and that no one pulls something out of their ass out of nowhere. Doing so earns you an immediate disqualification in battle.

Simply put, here's the skeleton:

Name: Your main handle, of course!

Appearance: Describe thine visual appearance! Helps make the RP feel more immersive, you know? Images help too, if you got any!

Ability: What your powers are, essentially! What can you do? How do you fight? Along with your basic ability (up to two), you get up to four custom Special Moves based on your chosen ability/abilities! I'll throw myself in as an example:

Name: VizardJeffhog

Appearance: As shown on my profile page, with a few exceptions. Addition of a circular keyboard that stays afloat behind him, as well as light blue air shoes to ensure flight (and skating, because CANADIAN).

Ability: Sound/Ice. Specializes in close-quarters combat physically, uses sound to keep distance.

-Supersonic Lullaby: Induces drowsiness on the opponent. Repetitive use will prove ineffective as the target will slowly accustom to it.

-Dynamic Diamond Dust: Kicking up some snow! Depending on the intensity of music coming from the keyboard, the area will be covered with anything from a small snowstorm to a full on blizzard!

-Frozen Finale: A melody that powers up attack power and endurance with the benefits of ice! Last resort technique with a limited time on its hands! All or nothing! If enemy survives, then bad news bears...

-Sound Barrier: A defensive technique which involves the keyboard surrounding him, which summons a shield through sound! An upgraded shield rather than the standard barrier that users can put up. It gets weaker with every use/powerful attack inflicted, however...

The catch about the Special Moves...? Well, as extremely powerful they may be, you are restricted to one in each battle, and you can't use that move again until you've used up your other ones over future matches... that is, if you make it far! You have to choose a move wisely before each round!

And finally, I did say I was gonna give the reasoning behind the name... Well, I'm incorporating an element that was introduced in the latest episode of TOME (highly recommend you watch the series) - participants in The Sonic Stadium Gemini Tournament are to be in pairs! That's right guys, this whole tourney is gonna be a constant marathon of 2 vs. 2 bouts! Pair-ups, however, won't be decided until further into the sign-ups.

In the meantime, I will be your gracious host, though I might participate myself... Who knows?

Name: Faseeh

Appearance: Inferno does it best.

Ability: Wind/Space and Time Warp. Specialises in close combat with Time Warp but uses Wind to gain advantage.

- You're Too Slow: The Chaos Emerald ain't for nothing. In the blink of an eye, he'll activate Chaos Control and do a roundhouse kick that will throw you far away with all the wind he calls on.

- Spiky Ball: Faseeh summons wind to roll him up into a ball and with the spikes at the end of his hoodie, slams the opponent down.

- Windy and Quickly: He summons wind to push his opponent towards him and stop time the second the opponent comes in close range to him. He then proceeds to go behind the opponent, stop all the wind and kick the opponent with his leg, that is accompanied by a gust of wind.

- NOW I'LL SHOW YOU: Before the enemy can hit, Faseeh warps around everywhere, slowly increasing the rate of teleportation, confusing the enemy. Once he reaches Mach Speed, he goes straight to the opponent, and gives one mighty blow and once the open is in the air, he pushes much further with his wind ability.

Welp, I'm going by Murfy, since he can obviously fight.

NOT!

Name: Can of Nothing

Appearance: A green can with detatched floating (for the hands, anyway. The feet stay on the ground) limbs. About 1.1m tall at most. Has a cartoony face and a custom tab.

(My icon would be an example, minus the cel-shading, if that's not your thing.)

Ability: Super speed and good at fist-fighting. Able to manipulate light and use it as a weapon using a special flashlight, though he only uses it for Flash Bang, preferring to rely on his fists.

- Flash Bang: Uses the flashlight to absorb all the light in that area, and uses it as a Solar Beam of sorts. Can of Nothing's most powerful ability.

- Sonic Boom: Does something akin to a Super Peel-Out and blasts off, slamming into the target. Even if it misses, the sonic boom (hey, the Flash exists, Sonic isn't the only fictional supersonic character.) may stun the opponent momentarily.

- Light Speed Combo: Does an uppercut and lifts the opponent off the ground. Instantly after, he jumps into the air and spins his hand around like a tornado, attacking the opponent with little chance to recover. Immediately after that, he slams the opponent into the ground.

- Punching Blizzard: As a last resort move, keeps punching repeatedly, his fists looking like blurs.. Does no attempt to guard himself, though, and is rather open to attacks... If you can actually counter, that is.

Welp, that's it. I just hope I don't get the displeasure of fighting my friends.

I am interested, BUT Spreader of Darkness AKA Dark Star may have in imbalanced ability, killing his foes with their own fear and healing himself with it.

Name: Rogue Agent #2366//Codename: Alien.Renegade (AR)

Appearance:

Abilities:

-Tactical planning/Tricky maneuvers

-Fighting style specializing in swift/light strikes to tire his opponents out, complimented with high amounts of stamina

-Gravity Manipulation: Can change gravity around a small radius with his module (Headphones), but lowers his stamina greatly if overused

Special Attacks:

B.U.R.S.T. - Uses Gravity Manipulation module to make himself lighter and quicker, depletes stamina (time-dependent)

B.R.A.I.N. - Enters tactical/calculation mode and finds out roundabout ways to attack the opponent and catch them off guard, depletes stamina by 25%

J.A.M. - Uses Gravity Manipulation module to increase the field of gravity around the opponent for a short period of time. Usually follows up with a heavy object dropped in that field, depletes stamina by 50% (75% if used for a longer time)

R.E.S.T.R.I.C.T.E.D. - Takes off the bag on his head, revealing a half-burned face and unleashing a high gravity force, immobilizing the opponent and making AR much faster than B.U.R.S.T. mode. The use of this move is only used as a last resort, and completely disables him for several hours after activation (completely depletes stamina)

Name: The Joker

Appearance:

The_Joker_Arkham_City_Game_Over.png

Abilities: The Joker fights in a crazy, dance-like style, one designed to irritate more than harm. That's where these come in!

The Last Laugh: Joker throws a bomb of non-lethal but laugh-inducing gas, defeating opponents as they panic in the smoke.

The Punchline: Joker pulls out a bazooka and fires an extending boxing glove at his opponent.

Pick a Card!: Joker grabs a box of razor-sharp playing cards to use as projectiles.

The Joke's on Who?: Joker trips his own teammate and throws them at the opponent.

Name: Rarity

Appearance

Abilities: Magic/Telekinesis. Specializes in using magic for manipulating items in combat (such as throwing projectiles and wielding swords,) along with some form of basic martial arts training for physical combat.

Special Attacks:

Improvise - Rarity can use her magic and artistic talent to craft crude weapons or shields out of the surrounding environment. This can also be used to restructure certain physical attacks (such as projectiles,) to turn them into harmless things as a form of defense.

Sew - Grabbing a pair of knitting needles from her hair, Rarity sews up the enemy's clothes, trapping them in their own outfits, and pinning them to the ground or a wall.

Raindrop Wings - A magic spell that creates a pair of wings that can be used for flying. However, they are delicate and are particularly weak to heat.

Gemstone Dig - Searches for and digs up any nearby gemstones, which can then be moved around using telekinesis to be used as projectiles, barriers, or for diversions, if used right (e.g. using them to refract or reflect light into an opponent's eye.)

Also registering my interest and working up a moveset. Gonna be Gerk. Yeah, he's an actual character. But he's kinda ill-defined since I lost some of my notes on him.

APOCALYPSE THE GODHOG!!! MADE BY EGGMAN NEGA AND MEPHILIS HE IS STRONGER THEN HYPER SONIC TAILS KNUCKLES SHADOW SILVER AND BURNING BLAZE IN HIS NORMAL FORM HE CAN TURN INTO SUPERHYPEROMEGAULTIMA JESUS SANIK WITHOUT CHOAS EMERALS AND HE CAN DESTROY THE UNIVERSE BY FLEXING HIS MANLY MUSLCES AND HES HOT!!!!!!!!

I'm interested in this and I'll come up with something for my character, Prince Solaris, later. (or I'll get lazy and just use Samus lol)

Name:Aang

Appearance: 20120717141940!Avatar_Aang.png

Abilities: Elemental control. He is most proficient with Airbending and therefor gravitates towards it more in a fight. Water and Earth require an environmental source. he can also summon and control fire, but his skills at that element are very basic at best.

Special Attacks:

Avatar Aang: When pushed to his absolute limit, Aang can go into the avatar state, which gives him unmatched power at the cost of control. even his own teammates need to watch out when this happens....

Tornado: Aang summons a large tornado by running in a circle.

Earth Sense: Aang uses his earth based abilities to sense where his enemies are.

Freeze: Aang uses water to trap his foes in a block of ice.

Alright, I'm totally getting in on this

Name: Cero Jamain

Apperance:

Colors: Black/Brown skintone, black eyes and hair, cerulean blue t-shirt, golden symbol (the sun thing), emerald green pants,

teal shoes and backpack

Abilities: Cero fights mainly with his oversized, and surprisingly dynamic mallet, arsenal of gadgets and gizmos loaded inside his bag, and his incredibly hard head, plus with the power of cartoon logic on his side, he's able to pull off some pretty flashy techniques. His hammer is pretty cool, it has the ability to change in shape for various functions, such as converting into a clamp to grab enemies, and opening up one of it's blunt sides to catch incoming projectiles, which Cero can send back to it's sender with a quick swing.

Special Abilities:

Gonchu Leach: This handy little device will not only nullify the opponents ability to use their super moves, as well as give Cero the ability to use an extra one of his own.

Giga Hyper Ultra Big Bang Hammah!: Cero wips from his bag a massive, golden mechanical device, which is shaped similarly to his hammer, with powerful pistons pumping in place of the blunt sides of the weapon. One hit from this baby will send any opponent flying

Tinker: Using basic materials scattered around the area to form little weapons and contraptions to assist him in battle, ranging from tiny squirt guns to great mechanical masterpieces

Equaflyer: Cero pulls out his keys and calls his reliable aircraft, the Equaflyer, to the field. Inside of it he can put the pressure on enemies with a powerful aerial assault, or convert it into Melee mode, for a ride in a power packed Gurren esque mech.

I'm willing to change things around if there are any issues

Name: AGES

Appearance: It has the look of a normal Dreamcast VMU, but considering it would be basically a walking square, it can generate a pair of feet and fists made of 16-bit pixel art. Kind of like Rayman.

Ability: Can manipulate 16-bit pixel art and most of his attacks rely on his pixel fists and feet.

- Let's Go Away: AGES turns one of his legs into a Hornet, who then zooms into the enemy's legs making him trip. Unless the opponent evades then it's useless.

- After Burner: AGES turns one of his fists into a Tomcat jet, which allows him to gain altitude, and then drops a fist into the opponent's head. Rather slow.

- Shurikast: AGES turns both of his fists into Dreamcast controllers, and then throws them at the opponent like Shurikens.

- Opa-Opa: AGES turns one of his fists into Opa-Opa, and charges at the enemy to try and punch the opponent's face with a shattering hit.

Well, in that case...

NAME: Malpercio

APPEARANCE: Giant Blue Serpent, with twin antlers and thick scales.

ABILITIES: Hydro-kinetic. Moves very rapidly in water, and is surprisingly resilient to electricity.

THUNDERING FALLS: Shoots out a torrent of water from the mouth with great force. High chance of knock-back/knock-down. Dwindles in force over prolonged use.

SACRED SPRINGS: Surrounds self in a sphere of pure water, slowly restores health and wounds, but rendered immobile.

LIGHTNING WAVE: Swings tail to create a wave of electrical energy covering a wide area. Can cause partial paralysis depending on distance from initial attack.

SUB-ZERO CRUSH: Freezes the foe and the area around them, and flings self into the air to crush them. Small chance of self-stunned after landing.
