Doesn't look too bad, but how can it still not be coming until 2016? Geez...

More than anything else, I really, really just want someone to explain what the fuck was going on for the last however many years it's been....

Combination of being revealed too early, small team working that got restructured several times and technical issues in making the game vision work as intended (catbird IA, environment interactions, etc)

I remember somewhere the team cited gameplay complications? Like getting the big guy to work alongside the little guy and designing the world around it was a challenge. Either way, Team Ico games are always an experience aesthetically and I doubt a trailer could ever sell how great it could be. So it's all about waiting for that release date.

I still love the look of this game. Seeing it after all this time had me a little emotional by the end of the trailer. I never stopped caring about this game.

I'll be picking it up first day.

I can't believe they actually opened the conference with a game that hasn't been seen since 2009. It doesn't look any different from when it was first revealed but it's still visually impressive to me, especially the beast's fur and movements. I thought the gameplay looked slow though. Now I've never played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, but I assume the gameplay there is slow too and more about the experience?

Yeah, gameplay on TLG seems much like ICO. An escort mission with light puzzle elements, quite chill for the most part.

There better be a dedicated "pet catbird" button.

"Because of the limitation of the hardware performance, the team was doing their best ... but we knew — from a design standpoint — in order to run it on PS3, the team would have to make some compromises in terms of the number of characters and these things," Yoshida said.

"So, that's the decision that we made some time in 2012, and after that, the team went back to the drawing board in terms of the tech, because the architecture is so different," Yoshida said. "... But since last year ... the game's playable. So, the team is very excited now. And working very hard."

"The video that we showed yesterday during the conference, actually you can play like that," he said. "It runs, the performance is great, but because it's an adventure game, it takes a little bit of a long time to show one sequence ... so, because the press conference is managed by very tight on time, we decided to show the video."

"So, the development is going very well, and we have a good amount of confidence in the time that we announced the window that we feel we can hit this time," he said. "So, that's why we introduced it."

The Last Guardian moved to PS4 in 2012 and the President of Sony Worldwide Studios spoke on the development issues. Source here.

While the thread is still small go back to the beginning of this thread, its soo funny to watch the hype go up and down and up and down (Carbo man you had no hope of ever seeing this game released).

I think this is real this time, we will finally see this game developed, plublshed, and played. after all this is the E3 year of miracles.
