Maybe Sonic is dashing to the nearest hospital because he's broken both of his arms and appears to have had a nitrous oxide overdose...

Am I the only one that loves the render, including the smile? Seriously people are too obsessed. Some guy even tried to 'fix it' on Retro and it looks worse. xD Would you have all preferred they recycled this one? http://info.sonicretro.org/images/4/43/Unleashed_sonic_run.png

Nobody on Retro tried to fix it. That was one of our own members here, and I posted it on Retro.

People aren't obsessed- they're having a bit of fun.

No, I wouldn't rather have a recycled one because ultimately I really do not care.

....Yes. XD

Here's hoping they take a Chronicles approach and recycle some stages from across Sonic history if they're using Seaside Hill. I haven't had the chance to play Chronicles but to me taking locations from across time and place has great appeal. While mixing it up with some new ones, of course.

I actually like that recycled artwork from Unleashed (or is it from Colors?) It wouldn't surpised me if someone complain about that smile either.

Has anyone pointed out that Pocket Gamer France (who revealed details about the game when SEGA confirmed its existence) has revealed that the game is out this Thursday?

Sega shows (finally) Sonic Dash

by Sylvain on 04/03/2013

We were presenting you an exclusive early last week , and Sega has finally unveiled the Sonic Dash. The next game based on the iOS famous blue hedgehog is therefore a running game as we told you a few days ago. Developed exclusively for the iPhone and iPad, the game is designed by Studio Hardlight already sympathetic to the original Sonic Jump ( read our review ). Seek out the gold rings in a frantic game in 3D occurring in the landscapes of Seaside Hill. Brace yourself and challenge your friends via Game Center in rushing at full speed in the green hills of Sonic Dash . The game comes out Thursday on the App Store.

It is from Unleashed. They changed it a bit for Colors.

None of the critiques would've changed even if this render was recycled though.

Call it what you want, I still think people are obsessed with minor details.

Poking fun of renders counts as being obsessed and now? Nitpicky sure, but I've hardly seen anyone bashing or refusing to play the game because of one render.

Man, your're silly.

The model could had been worse.

It could have had Generations Sonic's fish lips.

Everything sounds and looks good, I just need me some confirmation of an Android version and I will be set.

If not, there will be rage.

It'll happen, but it'll be the same deal as with Jump and CD- the Android version will come out considerably later, likely with compatibility issues on many devices.

If it is free, it will most likely be a "buy the other levels for 99 cents!" Kind if deal. As for seaside hill being present again...eh. We might as well expect this whenever Sega says their bringing back stages. As for the render....I like the unleashed and colors one, but this one has the mouth which puts me off. The pose I find perfectly fine. Most of his renders and poses(mostly from unleashed) I like. But this one...not so much. Goes up there with the Sonic 4 one.

Sonic's mouth reminds me of the way Archie sometimes draws Sonic and his friends mouths. Those teeth...it's so effing weird.

Is Sonic a hedgehog, or a bloody gerbil?

I think your resident neighbourhood snooper Shadzter may have found Android confirmation.

Just stumbled across this tweet from one Lee Winder:

Lot of positive buzz being generated about Sonic Dash. My first game developed for @HLGames. Not long now… smile.png

Jan 2012 - Present

Technical Team Lead / Sega

Unannounced Mobile Title

• iOS and Android

• Project and Technical Team Lead

Viking: Battle for Asgard

• Steam Port

• Technical Team Lead

The Viking PC port was recently made by Hardlight Studio and so the unannounced mobile title at the top is likely Sonic Dash (only announced today), which his Twitter confirms he's worked on. So....Android confirmed?

If so I'd be really happy. My hype for this is practically 0 right now because I'm not expecting to be able to play it for like 3/4 months.

What is it with Sega and these bad Sonic renders man? It's like Uekawa's doing to Sonic what Wally Wood did to Power Girl originally. Only in place of bigger breasts each issue, Sonic gets more derpy with each render.

SANICDASH.pngDear Iizuka,

I fixed your Sonic.

Who is this Uekawa guy anyway?

I'll be waiting for your call

Kieran

(Other than weird art, I'm looking forward to this!)

And now he looks like a badass. Fans once again showing how it's done.
