Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom

I would absolutely, positively LOVE to see this game remastered in HD. This is the only video game I can say, with confidence, I love EVERYTHING about. I mean, the concept, the music, the gameplay, the aesthetics, EVERYTHING about this game is great!! Maybe it's just my nostalgia talking, but this game NEEDS brought back from its watery grave.

Nope, there are many many games that are much more worthy, with more heritage and history

I thought this topic was called "What Games do you think Deserve to be remastered", not "Tell me What Games you think Deserve to be remastered, and I'll tell you if you're right or wrong." Seriously man, you can't just shoot down someone's opinion like that.

Breath of Fire I and II are pretty by-the-numbers RPGs, but I think there are two good reasons to remaster them.  The first is that they have a lot of charm.  The second is that they have a lot of flaws.  The dragon transformation systems in both are pretty wonky for completely different reasons, I don't think II's ever had a good translation and the plot has a few loose ends...

Metroid 2, it's a gameboy game but it's pretty pivotal to the entire Classic Metroid mythos, yet it didn't get remade into a better form like the original did to Zero Mission. Super's absolutely fantastic as it is, so Metroid 2 could do with being bumped up a notch (though the closest we'll get is that fan remake most likely) to compete with all the rest and further tie it all together.

All Metroid 2 needs is a map and I think it'd be great, but certainly updating everything else wouldn't hurt.  I gather that there was a DX version for the GBC in the works at one point, but it was never completed.  A real shame, that.

Rival Schools & Project Justice

Two of my favorite fighting games of all time. I absolutely adore these two. Such a great series. Characters with interesting play styles, great music, great visuals for their time, the games are just a ton of fun. It's pleasing to see that Capcom hasn't completely forgotten about this series, thanks to all the cameos in recent games like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Since Capcom's HD Fighting game remasters tend to turn out well, I think they'd be able to handle Rival Schools/Project Justice very well.

I would like an HD remaster of this game with more levels and handrawn sprites. I know it'll probably never happen since Nintendo uses 3D models for 2D games, but man, this game would look gorgeous if they just took the artstyle used by the sprites and redrew it.

Not sure if want

Super Mario World probably has the most bland art style of any game ever created ever, whether they made the game in gorgeous hand drawn sprites or full 3D it's gonna be difficult to make the game look... well... interesting.

The original Pokemon games.

A few years too slow man.

Honestly these were the best remakes around since they were with the arguably fastest gen.

Sonic Riders , or Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity.
Add some online multiplayer to it, and some new retextured maps, and you got my money.

As previously noted, the Genesis Sonic games would be lovely to see remastered, in terms of having HD drawn sprites and backgrounds and whatnot. To make it even better, throw in Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix as well, which are the more scenery porn-reliant Sonic games of the Genesis era.

Quite obviously, some of Rare's Nintendo games would look great if they got HD remasterings (Diddy Kong Racing comes to mind, and GoldenEye 007 is in desperate need of one-seriously, just take a look at some old gameplay videos of the original game; although Activision did a pretty good job updating the games for their Wii re-imagining), but Microsoft of course. >_>

Agreed with the OP on seeing Vectorman 1 and 2 getting a remake. On that note, Comix Zone would look AWESOME with a HD remastering.

Agreed, although I don't care much for the second.

And how in the world did I forget about Comix Zone (facepalm) that would be AWESOMe specialy if they lengthened it

If I had a wish list, it would be enormous, but other than the aforementioned consensus on classics being remastered, I would also like to see Future Cop L.A.P.D. and Metroid Prime remastered in stunning PS4/NeXtBox/Wii U (2?) graphics. Two old favorites of mine, well deserving of reviving. The original Legend of Zelda remastered in Four Swords HD style would also be rather kick arse. I should stop now, else I'll just go on and on...

Oh, I would actually love a remastered Sonic Riders Collection, if only to see Free Riders have a release without crappy controls.  Most controls would be easily mapped to buttons, for reaching you could either use the right control stick or have L for reach left, R for reach right, both for reach up, and click control stick to duck.  Or something.

Online play would be great too, considering Riders tends to have a difficulty curve to learning the game that makes it completely casual unfriendly for local play.

And if they really wanted to push the boat out... reskin the Expert tracks on Free Riders so they have a different vibe to them, like the Babylon tracks did in the first two games.

If you'd asked me a year or two ago I would have said Abe's Oddysee/Abe's Exoddus. And now it's actually happening. I only had one reaction.

Anyway, with that one on the way it gave me hope for some more of my favourites to return. I'd love Tom Hall to get the rights back to Commander Keen from id so he can make a new one (or revamp the old ones), for whoever has the rights to Duke Nukem to make 2d games of him again and for Math Munchers to return in HD. I miss the troggles.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and its two sequels. It's a fun, lighthearted platformer with an endearing stereotypical Australian theme, as well as a fairly interesting gameplay due to its use of boomerangs as a means to fight both melee and long range, and even glide. There's a variety of environments and gameplay modes that make it hard to really get monotonous.

Also it has two sequels. Three games is the magic number for a remake set.

Metroid 2:

The game is a lot of fun and thanks to the 3DS, I finally own it, but it's always harder to tell where I'm going due to the constant...grey I colorful remaster with Zero-mission like assests would suffice. A 2.5D remake for Wii-Ware and the 3DS would also be nice.

Halo 2:

Halo:CE got remastered for the 360, albeit for the Anniversary but I feel Halo 2 should be as well. Personally I find it the weakest of the series, but every Halo game in the entire series so far is available on the Xbox 360 in glorious HD...except for Halo 2. I can see it getting the same treatment as Halo:CE A, but I'd rather it now than later.

Vectorman 1 and 2:

Yes yes and YES, one of my favourite all-time Megadrive/Genesis games. If SEGA knew how to make a decent FPS, this could have been their flagship FPS to compete with the likes of Halo and COD in the early days, if they did. Since SEGA can make decent 3rd person shooters though, I wouldn't mind seeing these games remade in that style. But right now, I'd kill for any more Vectorman, and as the OP said, it could work wonders as a HD 2.5D game; some of the locales would look gorgeous in HD.

On a small note I could see it done in the art style of Rayman Legends; might be a long shot though.

Legend of Kay. I loved this game so much, and since my PS2 is broken, I can play it anymore.

It's like Zelda with cats, a Chinese setting and an awesome combat system...the story is also pretty damn good.

I know people aren't goning to agree 100% on this but I think sonic R for the sega satern deserves to be remastered w/ better controls , music that does not sound cheesey and I'm well sure that they would'nt mess up the graphics of the level and character design

The biggest problem I can see isn't the concept itself, but the fact SEGA's racing stock has been placed in the two All Stars Racing games by this point. I can't see Sonic R really being given much effort when it's next to those two wonderfully-selling ( and well-received) titans.

Nonetheless, the idea itself is definitely a neat one. But I think the most we'll ever see is a port with some minor touchups.

Rewrite the script, redo the graphics, and kill the loading screens. Kaboom, the game is actually playable again.

There are many games that I'd like to see remastered...

Let's see.....

1. Final Fantasy VII. (No, I thought about it the second I read the title, even before I saw the previous post.)

2. Mortal Kombat 4: Really, the first 3D Mortal Kombat game which was fun to play and had a nice plot and a good set of characters.

3. Some Prince of Persia games, Sands of Time had seriously low quality, in my opinion.

4. Mega Man X8: It would be nice to see it have HD graphics. (This one is impossible... Maybe.)

5. Chaos Legion: ... The most underrated video game ever..... Almost.

I can't think of other than these, for now.

I replayed it a little while ago, don't get what you mean about it being unplayable. I think it's incredibly fun to play.

A remake'll never happen though, it's too big a game to make on todays consoles (weird as that sounds)
