Your most detested/hated films

Recommended Posts

1)Moulin Rogue

I mean, my God. This pretentious piece of garbage got praised and quickly became obnoxiously overrated with people ignoring those tiny-tiny details:

-overall stupid plot and numerous plot-hole;

-stereotyped characters with little to no real personality and just (lovelylovelovelove or snobbetysnobsnobsnob);

-remixes of already existing songs that frankly can be better as covers done by tennagers' bands;

-tons and tons of arrogance, a thing i absolutely HATE in stories;

2)Dead Poetry Society

I'm dead serious (no pun intended). First, i personally loathe Robin Williams in general (personal issues, you are free to love him all the way you want). Second, basically, this movie has the same problem with the previous about the arrogance. Everyone in this movie is arrogant, and that creates an escalation of imposing opinions  that either bored me to death or made my teeth growling. I hate this movie at a point that i didn't enjoyed the ending when i was supposed to.

3)Up

Hate me all the way you want. I think that after the first 10 minutes, all the rest of the movie was a total waste. This could have been the best Pixar short, and instead he grew a tumor on it. A tumor that apparently, everyone loved. Good for you guys.

4)Osmosis Jones

This has been for a long time my #1 request for a Nostalgia Critic review and it's still today. This WB garbage ruined what was left of Bill Murray's carrer (before the 2 Garfield movies gave the coup de grace) and used a lot of unfunny jokes, stereotyped character, and inconsistency not only for the human body, but for its own rules.

If others will come in mind later, i will put them too.

Haha, I don't watch bad movies. I always look at reviews on IMDB and RT and if I have even the slightest feeling I won't like it I don't watch it...which is perhaps why I've only watched two new movies in the last year (Wreck it Ralph and A Seperation).

The single worst movie I have seen though was Transformers 2 or whatever they called it.

The jokes in the movie are bad and stuff you've already heard a million times, the movie makes so many sexual references and jokes it's painful, the characters are once again boring, they use Megan Fox to appeal more to the 13 year old boys watching and it's more or less a damn rehash of the first one.

What makes a modern Transformers movie? Sex, Robots, Annoying Girls, Bad Jokes and a ton of fire and explosions.

Also a special mention for every horor film like Saw in existance. I also don't like Action films or Chick Flicks for the most part.

What movies are for some, video games are for me. I'd rather play a good game then watch a film.

I consider myself a lenient critic, i can honestly find some enjoyment out of something in any media really, i can usually respect the work that, okay, they tried to make a piece of entertainment, at the very least, it's well put together.

However, i make this an exception.

jason_friedberg6.jpg

see these two dudes, their names are Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. oh yeah, you know what i'm talking about already don't you. these two little shits are responsible for the abortions known as modern parody movies. Unfunny, crass, low production valued, shit, that's what those movies are, literal shit, no literally really are literally brown stinky poopy feces that came from a mammal how did they put that in a film projector would it ruin the machine or whate-

seltzer_8081.png

i know it's internet nature to attack these, you could say they're overplayed yadda yadda but no these movies are absolutely awful, i've probably laughed or giggled at least 3 times throughout all of the movies combined, they're literally the same movie, take whatever pop culture references and films are out at the time, references that will be dated by the time the movie is out  the trailers for this movie are even out, have literally other characters from movies show up, fart, burp, poop, etc. and then get kicked in the balls or whatever. that's it, i wrote a seltzbrug movie, hey they should hire me hey movies studios.

the parody movie used to be an art, they used to be creative and hilarious, look at Spaceballs, Airplane, Naked Gun, Hot Shots, they were more subtle in their humor. subtlety however, is something seltzburg don't know shit about. These movies are the cinematic equivalent of 9fag/reddit level memes. i guess we can take solance in that the last movie they made was the twilight parody thing whatever and they haven't been heard of much recen-

Freidberg and Seltzer announced that they are making a new movie that will spoof The Hunger Games, called The Starving Games. Filming commenced in October 2012, and the film will be released in theaters in 2013.

I probably already posted this rant on another movie-related thread over here, I can't remember. But just in case, I'll post it in this thread because it's even more on topic than that other thread which I vaguely recollect in my mind...

I disapprove of the way that Mortal Kombat: Annihilation turned out to be! Here are the reasons why:

It never showed how Princess Kitana's mother Syndel was resurrected from the dead by Shao Khan and possessed by some other entity.

It never showed how Shao Khan killed Stryker and Kabal, despite showing Shao Khan bragging about this deed to his Elder God father.

And Sheeva never even got the chance to fight Liu Kang in Shao Khan's dungeon. She got lamely killed off by being squashed under a falling cage shortly after greeting him.

And Nightwolf just appeared out of nowhere and disappeared just as suddenly as appearing.

FUCK! THIS! MOVIE!

I really fucking hate this film for sooo many reasons. Bear with me on this one folks.

#1: Nicholas Cage

Why? Why didn't they get someone else as the Ghost Rider? Danny Ketch was in this movie, but he was the kid. Nicholas cage's acting was over the top, ridiculous, and sometimes just plumdamn stupid for my taste. It was way more silly than the last film, it was like he was winging it the entire time. My God, please help me. And that leads us to...

#2: The Writing

Is this a joke? Who wrote the scripts for this shit, the current Two and A Half Men team? There was just too much stupidity present and half the time, I had no idea what the fucking story was about because the film was just shitting around. I mean really, Ghost Rider pissing fire? And that one dumb ass line, "He's Knocking on the Front Dowah!". Ugh. Not to mention a lot of useless fucking scenes that had no point in being there just to prolong the movie.

#3: Ghost Rider's Design

Look at this. Look at this!

ghost_rider_spirit_of_vengeance_615.jpg

This design is such a big step down from the first film. He looks like a burning action figure. Also, the way they portray him this time is so dumb and silly. His first appearance in this film, he's dancing. Dancing? Yeah, because that says badass demonic super hero right?

#4: Effects

Please tell me what the fuck is this....Imagine seeing this in bullshit 3-D.

ghost-rider-spirit-of-vengeance.jpg

120217030610-ghost-rider-spirit-of-venge

#5 Characters

Moreau - Didn't need to be present.

Nadya - Don't know who the fuck this is. Don't care.

Danny Ketch - He should have been Ghost Rider.

Roarke - Why is he an old ass fuck? He's the god damn devil.

Blackout - Pointless thrown in villain.

Any other pointless characters I forgot - yeah...

This movie isn't just bad, it's literally unGodly. If it means making a deal to send this piece of shit back to the smelliest part of Hell, then please, take my soul, take my body parts, take anything.

Well...I'm gonna take a break on this one...

This fucking movie.

Now, you've probably never heard of this insipid shit, and as a result, don't feel the pain that I had to endure while being forced to sit through this shit. (And I was quite literally forced to watch it with my family). The entire movie feels like they ripped out every 90's movie cliche and threw it in a blender. The movie revolves around some whiny asshole who finds a Lord of the Rings reject in the sewer. There are also typical bullies with no other interesting traits other than being assholes for no reason, the token nerdy kid with glasses (cause everyone with glasses is a weak nerd  durr hurrr) and the asshole girl who is a strong independent women who don't need no man.

The movie comes loaded with shitty special effects that aren't even good for a low budget indie film, random shit that comes out of nowhere with no explanation or hinting, wooden acting and every single cliche in a movie you can imagine.

BioDome. Imagine the most despicable, annoying, idiotic blathering idiots in the world. Now imagine a whole movie focused on them and their HIGH-LARIOUS antics. It's pure torture.

Fuck this piece of anal waste.

Everything about this movie is offensive. The acting is garbage, the characters are fucking horrible, the story is putrid, the special effects are eye-meltingly horrendous, and the overall message is insipid.

This move stars a wimpy bitch that has dreams or some shit that constantly whines about how dreams aren't real. Then he gets visted by to wastes of imagination called Sharkboy and Lavagirl.

Basically the story consists of these three characters going on a horribly generic adventure to stop Mr. Electricdad (which is just George Lopez's face put on a lightbulb) from whatever, I forgot, because I don't want to remember this fucking movieakmnd knfajdnasvkav.

I literary hate every goddamn thing about this movie, please never watch it.

...I liked it. Even now, I can't bring myself to hate it because of nostalgia.

I'm a general hater of gore porn horror movies too.  I don't understand the appeal whatsoever.  Generally I'm not a fan of gore in any capacity, not fear or unrelenting negativity etc.  It's weird coz I have no problem with most gory games, because I understand the parts that make up games.  Oh that blood splatter is a 2D effect.  Oh that gore is a seperate polygon that's juxtaposed onto the existing character model, blah blah blah.  But even though I know it's all CGI and special effects, in films it LOOKS real and everything connects up exactly, it's not like games where the brutal weapon just sorta occupies the same physical space as the gore effect etc.  It really looks like it's penetrating and shifting flesh around etc and ugh do not like it.

Like, I once saw a single clip from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre on some TV show.  The bit where he grabs the girl escaping from the house and sticks her on a meathook while still alive.  You don't even SEE the gore in that and my god it plauged my mind for days.  It still creeps me out to think about it too much eughghghgh.

Anyway uhh... after all that moaning about gore, he's something totally hypocritical.  Kill Bill Vol 1 was a total hoot and I loved the over-the-topness and stylisation of it all.  Kill Bill Vol 2 was a load of shit.  Like I can't believe they're technically supposed to be one long movie.  Vol 2 was just depressing as shit and has left the entire "series" of two movies as a depressing idea in my head because why bother watching Part 1 when you don't get to see the end of the story.  The fact that it had an utterly fucking freaky far too long (kudos for its effectiveness mind you) buried alive scene was the kicker for me.  Nope nope nope.

I'm not going to waste my time telling anyone why I hate these movies.

That's... not really how discussion boards work.  I thought Cloverfield was alright.  So your post has done nothing.

376px-Birdemic.jpg

Just by the poster alone, you can tell that this film will be incredibly juvenile and low-budget. Birdemic, is undoubtedly, one of the worst films ever made. The acting is laughably wooden, stoic, and banal, the sound editing is like something done by a 6-year old, the special effects are shit, the story is laughably bad, convoluted, and makes little to no sense. Of all the films out there, whenever someone tells you Birdemic is that bad, yes, it is that bad.

At all costs, I beg you, avoid this movie.

I'm surprised to have not seen a lot of the Twilight Saga here.tongue.png

The worst part is I went to see two of those movies to the movie theater, to escort some of my girl friends. Worst movies I ever spent money on. I don't care if someone says the books are better, the movies are horrible the end.

Since my girlfriend forces me to watch those fucking things, I'll do the honors.

MOTHERFUCKING TWILIGHT!

I've seen every film. And every film I likened it to be cinematic sodomy. That is right folks. Watching this piece of shit is like getting your shit packed with a 50 inch dildo. My god, and the acting is terrible. Kristen Stewart is a horrible actor. She doesn't have any other emotion other than this face.

kstew-120-recap.jpg

And she always looks like she is strung the fuck out or some shit. Not to mention the character, Bella, is well worth the feminist discussion in her own right because the bitch can't do shit without her man. Delusional as fuck. Edward stalks her at night? "He loves me." Edward openly admits of wanting to kill her. "He loves me!" Edward gives her sex that is so abusive that she has bruises and then when the masochistic bitch says that she loved the pounding(which I liken it to how you ground pepper and shit or getting fucked with a grinder), Edward says no more sex just after they get married? "She is like okay." Not to mention that fucking birth scene. Jesus fucking Christ. Baby from Satan gets born and no one thinks of getting an abortion? What the fuck.

FUCK THESE MOVIES!

I hate Twilight, but not as much as I hate Lord of the Rings.

Care to elaborate on that at some point as to why? huh.png

Okay I admit I am not the most critical person when it comes to movies I don't know why and not everything I seen I can say were excellent but I tend to see movies that appeal I know that will appeal to me, I don't bother reading reviews and I don't like my taste film being dictated by critics.

Anyway here is why I don't like Skyline. Its basically a group of people running around an apartment complex being hunted by aliens yet there is nothing to explain why or what is going on and the ending is bullshit (look it up). The film tries to explain what is going on with small shots of things usually all CGI based.

Now I can watch tons of films that have CGI and this has tons of it and you can tell nearly all of the films budget was spent on it and does really look good in places but it adds nothing to it because nothing is really explained either with dialogue or visuals. There are a few shots that suggest what is going but their really fast and short.

If you took the CGI out its basically about a group of people running around an apartment complex. Either way with or without CGI this films is about people running around an apartment complex with little to no explanation as to why the audience should care.sleep.png

Stick to Independence Day or Cloverfield they do a far better job at conceiving you there is alien invasion.

I also don't think CoD's a good equivalence; there's actual artistic and technical merit to the way the games work, and generally disagreement comes from whether or not you like its brand of gameplay and subsequently shooters as a whole.

And Hollywood always sucking? Eh, not really. It's always had its problems in terms of a working system (for example, it used to be legal for studios to own theaters which negatively affected competition and what was seen and made), but it's had its Golden Ages as well, such as before the idea that the film industry needed any moral guidance or rating systems.

I was being sarcastic about COD In that both the Transformers movies and Call Of Duty are used as finger pointers for some people. wink.png

Hollywood as always had bad spells even in the Golden Age there were some turds. The whole rating systems was inevitable as directors and writers began pushing the boat out more and more with what could be shown and said as well as the amount of levels shown.

Oh, and this is another one I watched the other day that's almost up there with Bad Lieutenant:

All of my friends decided to put this on as they said it's hilarious and I'll love it. There was not one remotely funny thing about this movie, they story was awful, the jokes were awful, Will Ferrell was awful (then again, when isn't he?) and don't even get me started on the effects. The aliens are just people in what look like $10 Halloween costumes.

Since Felix already mentioned Star Wars: Episode 2, I'll mention another horrible sci-fi movie.

So, back when I was dating this girl, this was just last year; she wanted me to watch this film with her. She absolutely adored it and I took one look at the cover and though "looks shit".

Well, I don't always judge a movie by it's cover, but....

serenity-movie-blu-ray-cover-01-mq.jpg

Serenity, I hear this is supposed to be a sort-of-sequel to the Firefly series. I had not seen either Firefly or this movie before watching it with her.

But, HOLY FUCKING SHIT, IT WAS AWFUL!!!!

I'm a guy who loves his Sci-Fi, but between this and Star Trek, I have no idea what bores me more. The plot, the characters, the music; nothing here was even slightly good.  The movie felt like it was dragging on from beginning to end.

I found it so bad, that I missed a chunk of it due to falling asleep out of boredom; fair to say girlfriend at the time wasn't impressed, but I warned her. Everytime I see this DVD in a shop, I want to burn it.

I can't stand the dark knight trilogy. Batman Begins is boring as hell. It takes far too long to get into the meat of the story by which time it's too late to be interesting. I'm not against the inclusion of Ra'as Al Ghul as the villain but the twist is so easy to see coming that Liam Neeson might as well be wearing at-shirt with "I will turn bad" on it. I can't stand Christian Bale's batman, he makes a great bruce wayne but his batman voice is unlistenable.

The dark knight is just a clusterfuck with a thousand plots going on a one time. The look of the film is also totally different, not a bad thing in itself but it bugs me that Gotham's a steam filled gothic city in the first one but a very modern new york-a-like in the second. The joker almost makes up for the films flaws and Ledgers performance is spectacular but it's just not enough.

The dark knight rises is the best of the trilogy IMO but again there's just too much going on. all the stuff with Bruce wayne giving up being batman and the lengthy section where he's in prison. Also i don't buy Gotham suddenly turning into a distopian dictatorship so quickly.....and Tom Hardy's voice.....

Don't get me wrong, I respect what Nolan was trying to do, making a more serious realistic batman film following the abysmal Batman & Robin. But frankly I feel he went too far in trying to make it dark, it stripped all the fun out of the characters and it felt like they were ashamed of being a comic book movie.

If you want to see the dark side of batman done properly I'd recommend Mask of the Phantasm. Easily the best batman film IMO

The Last Airbender. Fuck this movie.

Now, I don't really consider myself a very big fan of the series, but how much M. Night dumps on the source material/characters and made some characters so useless and under-developed for his "interpretation" while trying to condense the whole season into a 120 min. movie really annoyed me. But that's not really my main problem with film. Even without the innacurracies, it just serves a good example of bad filmmaking in general. Wooden acting, poor pacing, the writing barely sounds credible, special effects are sub-par but not enough to save the movie, and the general tone is just so serious throughout that when it tries to be funny, it falls flat and feels out of place. I could go on about the contradictions the movie make, but that would fall into nitpicks/comparisons to the show and would potentially bore many if I had to go over every single one.

The fact that it ends with a cliffhanger is the final nail in the coffin for me. They must've been really expecting this movie to do so well to greenlight a sequel. It's the ultimate example of 'counting your chickens before they hatch.' That's more hilarious than anything this movie had. Unless M. Night gets dropped from the project or at the very least put on a leash on his directing, writing, and producing (which explains the abyssmal script and acting) don't expect me to be interested in a possible sequel.

Dude, please elaborate. I seriously wanna know why you hate LotR. It's a masterpiece of cinematography!

Why are you all turning against me? blink.png

Well let me tell you something first, I'm the type of a person who doesn't force or make people hate something or someone when I do. Normally I don't tell most people my reasons for hating most of the things that I do, until they ask.....

I'll try to explain my point of view as much as I can.

Let's start with the Lord of the Rings series:

Hmm, let's see... The characters are nice, they seemed to choose a nice set of actors, but other than the fact that it was some legend novel, where's the plot in it? You know, that thing we call 'development', I've seen a few scenes from the first movie, it was unbearable as heck, I can't and I will never watch anything related to it (unless it's a parody), that's why I'll try not to get to the story itself since I don't even know it. It was really senseless to me, call me stupid, I'll accept that. But come on, all these warriors, giants, freaks, dragons, creatures that have not been seen before, all these things are after... What? A freaking ring? Now this ring has unique powers, but it can charm mindful wise men out of their sanity just because it is so beautiful or... Now what's that? Genjutsu?!

Let's compare Lord of the Rings to Harry Potter, let's start with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (also known as the Sorcerer's Stone), when Harry knew the truth behind his parents' death and met Voldemort for the first time, I was as young as Harry was, and that's when everyone could tell that the story will revolve around Harry's evolution until he becomes the greatest wizard in history and defeats his nemesis. Let's see how the story developed later, to be accurate, in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, that was when too much mystery around Snape was revealed, when we watched the first two or three movies, my brother told me that he thinks that Snape will appear to be on the dark side, what I'm saying is, a lot of people were clever enough to understand that Snape was not a normal person, until he told Harry, that he was the Half-Blood Prince, now in that movie, something actually happened, much confusion was cast away, and in the Deathly Hollows, what happened was something many people predicted, and actually waited to see.

But in Lord of the Rings, some people were after the ring, in the second movie more people were after it, and there's always people chasing these magical rings that will make others destroy them to have and etc. A ring of destruction, I'll have it and others will kill me, a wise person will take it and try to get rid of it but will be charmed and rather keep it, then others will kill him, there's no end to it.

Now let's move to Twilight...:

Under what genre do we find this movie? Porn?

Bella meets Edward, Bella loves Edward, Bella kisses Edward, Bella has sex with Edward, Bella dies, Bella lives as a vampire, Bella stops Edward, Bella and Edward live happily ever after...

Now enough with the mocking part, I've seen some Twilight movies, not all of them though, the first one was great, my favorite character is Alice, the baseball scene was nice, the scene when they killed that blond evilness was also nice, burned him, cracked his neck, just killed him in every way they found in the book, just awesome... The way it's supposed to be. I loved the first movie, until it appeared to be a love story between a human girl and a vampire guy, wasn't it supposed to be a story about vampires? Yeah there might be nothing wrong if they fell in love with each other, but did we have to see how crazily they loved each other to -death-? Were the overrated love (sex) scenes even needed?

That's just what I think, I might have sounded a bit offensive and rather sarcastic, if anyone who favors either or both series of movies feels offended, then I apologize in advance.

But since the topic's title is "Your most detested/hated films" then we should all accept each other's criticism if we ever wanted to post in this thread. happy.png
