So from the cut scene we can see that the alliance is formed after Desert Ruins

And Cubot's pirate voice is back.

 

He seemed to have a different voice tone when he's screaming just before his body's destroyed. Maybe with his body destroyed, his voice chip has been completely fried and he'll be constantly switching out voices? It'd be a nice way to keep his established character going... especially if he takes on a 'smart' tone and does that Shakespeare gag we're expecting himself.

Like the look of the Frozen Factory stage. I loved the water pipe in S&SASR, so I'm glad to see a level like that in a Sonic game.

 

I enjoyed the cutscene more with context. Kinda like how Sonic made matters worse.

Man I love the way Eggman says "That was a mistake...." just as Sonic kicks the magic voodoo shell from his hand.  As though he was saying it through his teeth, really cheesed off at Sonic.

 

It's rather refreshing to see super cocky, full of himself, brash Sonic again.  Kinda reminds me of Unleashed's intro how his arrogance ended up getting him into a very sticky situation.

Not sold on the new level. It looks pretty visually but man, is it all going to be a big grind rail section?

Cutscene was great: glad that the English writers didn't shit on it. I also liked how this whole thing was caused by Sonic rushing in and kicking the seemingly evil device away from Eggman, plays well into one of Sonic's character flaws (rushing in without thinking). I also like how they gave a reason for Tails to be behind cover: it's because they were both hiding and snooping on Eggman. There was humor but it didn't seem cringeworthy or random, it was actually CONTEXTUAL humor that made sense based on the scene. All in all, great scene and I hope the rest of the story follows up with this level of quality in all aspects (hint: I'm not asking for every scene to be like this).

Well that was pretty neat. Yep, as I expected, the English script is definitely pretty different from the Japanese one. If Cubot's voice chip is acting up again, then the "Pirate" voice must be a "Sumo Wrestler" voice in Japanese, just like Colors.

I think I'm pretty sold on this game already. It really seems promising and I would do anything to get a Wii U or 3DS, but maybe a Wii U. Also, did anyone noticed that Zavok and Eggman's voices sound the same?

I never recall him calling them badniks, just robots and mechs.

Sonic screwing everything up and having Tails feel the need to be sarcastic while wounded. Brilliant evolutions of the Colours personalities, really looking forward to the rest of the script!
