It was called the "Somersault" in a Help box.

So the Sonic News Network was right... the somersault. ...a somersault that launches blades of blue wind...

Somersault...? That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't even match the actual motion of one like it did in SA2.

....So...?

"Somersault - an acrobatic exercise in which a person's body revolves 360° with feet passing over the head. A somersault can be performed either forwards, backwards, or sideways and can be executed in the air or on the ground."

It kinda matches that description pretty well...

I am a stupid person, I won't have the full knowledge on these things. Its not something I think is that important to know, I'll keep my keyboard shut if something else like this comes up. Because I'm a stupid person.

Wonder why the after-images are completely opaque. Looks kind of cheap imo.

Well, I personally find after- images to be quite distracting anyway, but it would be better if they were translucent...

Finally! I've gotten to the last page of this topic after a long time of doing something else (I can't just skip to the last page when using my phone, which I use more often than my slow PC for quick updates)!

Now, something about somersaults? I was about to say it reminds me of the sonic airwave in Sonic Battle, even though that's way more intense looking. Would be awesome if you can upgrade your moves/skill sets like in Unleashed (or maybe like in the Adventure games).

Might I just go ahead and say that the Sunset stage look absolutely BEAUTIFUL:

This makes me wish we had more stages set at sunset.

Indeed. The lighting could be better I think, but all the same I find this really awesome.

Not trying to make an argument but this looks so much more beautiful...

Sorry, I just don't see anything beautiful on that SLoW screenshot. Nothing eye-candy there, really. The cardboard level...

The after-image looks really weird as well.

I agree with Artfenix.

That Lost World screenshot looks nice, but the way the sunset is done in GHZ looks a lot more appealing, there's a lot of nice shadows and a tone of colors that make up they sky's sunset colors, rather than just straight orange like int he LW screenshot.

Like im not trying to debate it or anything, just in this one instance I think LW gets beat when it comes which sunset level is better looknig.

How many times does a Generations screen shot needed to be flashed when screenshots from Lost World are shown. We get it there different

OH HERE WE GO AGAIN.

We get it dude, you prefer the more realistic Unleashed art style. That's fine and all, but it's all a matter of preference, because *GASP!* some people actually like the cartoony art style that Lost World provides because they find it charming and endearing! Just because you think the art style isn't great, doesn't mean people are going to see it the same way as you and vice versa. I'm seriously tired of all this pointless debating over the art style. No matter how much you complain, simple and cartoony is what Sonic Team's going for with Lost World. All you folks you don't like it can do is hope they revert when the next main series game goes to PS4/XB1/PC, though I'd imagine that they're still going to keep this art style for a while. But then again, keep in mind that as far as we know, only Lost Hex will look like that, while the rest of Sonic's world is still pseudo-realistic.

Sure, I understand that some people like the art style of SLoW but could you explain what exactly is beautiful (so beautiful it's worth being written in capitals) on that screenshot because I just fail to see pretty much anything beautiful in there. It's bland.

I can understand and sometimes I can even see why people think Silent Forest or Casino Stage look beautiful but this?..

For me, I appreciate how simple and clean the game looks. The art style takes a lot of cues from Sonic 1, 2, and CD and adds a cartoony twist to it. It's bright and colorful, even more so than the "Unleashed trilogy", and has lots of crazy shapes going on. There's little to no realism there, which is why it looks so appealing. On an artistic level, it seems like Sonic Team just said, "Screw it, let's go batshit insane with this one and do whatever the hell we want!", and I appreciate that. For a series like Sonic, I sometimes find realism too restrictive for the creative side of the series. What you may find bland, I find charming and endearing. One man's trash is another man's treasure, different strokes for different folks, etc.

I still dont get what so realistic about this? Because it's resemble a town? But structure of level is total surreal. Personally i think this is good balance. Even the graphics itself is not realistic, compare this to let say Battlefield or Crysis.

Since when is Unleashed style considered to be realistic?

I like bright, bold colors more than kinda muddy and dull ones.

Dull? Muddy? I thought the colors in Gens were really bright and had nice contrast and lighting. What IS dull is the lighting on that screenshot of SLoW. It's like I'd take a screenshot of GHZ and made a lame lazy recolor of the sky.

Again, I'm not trying to go into arguments but I truly don't see literally anything that is worth calling "OMG IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL" just because it's a sunset stage. That's why I'm asking what's so beautiful there. I just give the credit where it's due and it's not the case with SLoW.

I'm just being curious and I'm trying to look at that from different perspective to understand exactly what is beautiful there.
