Sonic Lost World Announced

That said, despite relationships with voice directors, I do also acknowledge that it is very possible that Cindy might just not be fit for the character. While I will admit that currently she is my favorite Amy VA, I should also mention that Amy's voice has never really been my cup of Hawaiian punch when it comes to the franchises. I like her voice much better than the previous ones and I don't react to it with negative reactions as various as a Casino's contents but I'm still waiting for her to capture just the right voice that would make me comfortably tolerant of Amy Rose whenever I hear her.

Of course, we can't always blame the higher-ups as sometimes, it really was the "scape-goat's" fault all along. Maybe Cindy Robinson just feels most comfortable voicing Amy that way and the voice director did not direct her to do such.

That said, I do hope Cindy can eventually handle this akin to how Roger adapted to his position as Sonic's voice, i.e. remembering he can't please everyone especially when it comes to fanbases, avoiding trying to merely imitate previous VAs while doing his own thing, but also accepting criticism and complaints, working with them and managing to "settle into his role".

And come to think of it, I'm sure that Cindy Robinson actually sounds a tad bit different in that Lost World cutscene than she did in Generations. I just can't quite put my finger on it yet.

Anyway, here's to future improvement.

Yep, the eShop updates on a Thursday in Europe and America. I know it's usually around 2 or 3pm UK time, not sure about the US though.

I believe it updates around noon EST.

I still can't get my head around the new VA's, I thought I could give them a chance, but all I did was cringe through that cutscene.

Japanese VA's it is, with English subtitles for my k thanx.

Robinson just feels more of a miscast by the game. It kinda sounds like she's having trouble with the voice in that cutscene. Smith and Willingham were fine though. I kinda like they're making Knuckles a little boastful here.

Sonic, Tails and Eggman all sound great as usual. Amy is a little grinding but nothing I can't stand and Knuckles just sounds the same as he did previously. I'll probably play with English to see how the total package wraps up.

I never understand when people say they "cringe".

Sure, Amy still has some of Minnie's voice box, but she sounds fine.

Guys, guys, I just realised. SEGA are putting subliminal messaging into this game.

Sonic Lost World is on the Wii U. The Miles Electric device looks suspiciously like a Wii U GamePad.

In the cutscenes, everyone has a Miles Electric. Therefore, SEGA wants everyone to have a Wii U GamePad (and by extension, a Wii U).

COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT

You know, it is Tails flying those helper mechs. aybe Tails controls them with the Miles Electric?

Meh. I think they all sound fine.

This is basically me, I don't really dislike any of them at all, hell the only one I don't immedialtey like is Amy, who I'm still getting used to.

Forget the voices, I'm still flipping over the fact that after the bell section in Windy Hill 1 someone FINALLY decided to take the left path instead of the right.

Seriously how many runs have we seen of Windy Hill and get nobody was curious to see what was on the left route instead of the right? Sorry that's a very random thing to be this happy about but I just found it so odd how nobody went that way in their playthroughs until now.

Theres so many paths to take in this game he was probably just like, fuck it lemme take the left..

If I'm seeing this correctly in that trailer cutscene with sonic's world being devoid of color Knuckles is nowhere to be seen that could mean three things he could be with sonic & tails at lost hex, at angel island or still in sonic's world except not shown in the cutscene, I'd guess I'll have to play the game in 8 days to find out.

"Sonic and Tails'll get your buddies back."

"Sonic and Tails'll get..."

"and Tails"

It's weird to be impressed by such small things, but that line right there made me appreciate the moment very much. Had Amy stuck to her typical obsessive fashion, she would've just mentioned Sonic only in a hero-worship fashion. Here, she actually puts Tails on the same level or importance as Sonic when dealing with an objective, something I don't think she's done before. She's recognizing the merits of everyone else involved.

Now I really want to see more character acknowledgments and interactions for this game. C'mon, Happy Tree Friends, don't disappoint here.

Am I the only one that felt uncomfortable with the delivery of the last line Sonic said in that cutscene, it felt so "detached" for a lack of better words.

FINALLY, someone goes left on Windy Hill. I'm actually really happy about that too.

And in both gameplay videos I've seen, they had no trouble using the laser wisp. Hope that's a sign it's been fixed.

Although on the subject of voices I was not bothered by Amy's to be perfectly honest a that's mainly due to how she was portrayed in the cutscene in general. I've never been too much of a fan of Amy's character and the voice always helped to portray that annoying, whiny, obsessive fangirl type character. As a result the only time where I really liked Amy's voice actor was in Black Knight due to the fact that she was portraying exercising a different character. Although the voice was at the core the same, the character was less annoying and consequently the performance was better for me.

This is also the case here. Amy here seemed so much more sincere and sympathetic than she has been for a long while. There was a greater level of maturity as she was genuinely concerned for the animals. Just from this one cutscene she seemed so much more interesting to me and I felt vocally this was all portrayed pretty well. Yeah sure the Minnie Mouse sounding deal is less than ideal but I felt some fairly genuine emotion in the performance.

So yeah, I think I'll stick it out with the English VAs for this game.

Pretty much my exact sentiment. I've gotten over Amy's new VA anyway, so it doesn't bother me as much as others really.

I'm surprised a bit here, they actually brought back the original Sonic the Hedgehog(1991)GameOver screen. I'm really surprised they actually did that, its got the black screen, the SpotLight, and the pose as well. The only thing better than that would be if they didn't use Colors gameover music(really unfitting)or if they used Sonic 2's gameover screen.

No word yet, but it doesn't seem like they announced the Japanese demo ahead of time, unless I missed something? So I guess it'll just show up.

*Looks at the very speedruns for Windy Hill*

Yeaaaah. The 3DS one was exciting. Spin Dash at it's best. As for the Wii-u version. Damn that was boring. I was hoping for a spin dash of some sort. Not just a straight line. And even then it still was not fast.
