>Implying there's something wrong with looking like a Mario game.<

Looks cool so far, but not really going to get hyped until I see trailer or gameplay footage.

Well people generally like Sonic because it has it's own style and feel different from Mario, not saying this game doesn't do that but still.

?????

No, I see what he means. I'd say that world looks more like Mario than Sonic. Not that it's un-Sonicy, but it's definitely giving Mario vibes.

Wii U exclusive....

Well that sucks. There better be a good reason to it. Like a special gimmick or control mechanic because otherwise I'll be pissed >:U

That's the thing, the use of the U gamepad, will most likely amount to little more than unecessary gimmicks. Or it won't be used at all. Both scenarios means that there is no reason, other than direct involvement from Nintendo, keeping the game from becoming multiplatform.

Honestly though, I would've loved to see Monolith Soft develop and integrate RPG elements into a Sonic game if the partnership continues.

I don't like those hexagons. Makes me think of an RTS map or something.

Well, someone call me when we get meaningful news/info...

Iwata knows SHIT about climat in Russia.

"In Russia it's cold"

Yeah same, I'm sceptical based on that alone.

First impressions are a bitch!

You know looking at the shapes of those little islands... they look kind of... game map-y. SMW style overworld?

Yeahhhh, obviously you've never played Sonic CD. ^^; It's very Sonic-y, though it does look a little bit like Super Mario Galaxy because of the planet's design. Hexagon puzzle shapes and all that.

Don't forget he's talking to kids, the game's demographic, he's explaining stuff in simple terms on purpose.

Just realized, this may mean Knuckles isn't in the game after all. :c

And that's just what people get for assuming the game's title had anything to do with SA1....

They remind me of the Metroid Prime maps when you zoom out in them, personally.

As I said before I do get a very "generic ice/fire/desert/greenery" world vibe from this so far, but I expect to be wrong as Sonic often combines tropes, especially in Unleashed and Colours, and Sonic 4 Episode 2 to some small extent.

Screw Knuckles, this game looks good enough without him already!

:P
