That sounds good. I didn't play it much, but my sister loved it. Hope it's as good. It seemed pretty cool to be able to run around the city.

Here's a gameplay video of it so you can get a better idea of what to expect:

I do think Mario & Sonic 2014 strikes a nice balance between single and multi-player experiences. Whereas M&S 2010 only really had the Festival mode and M&S 2012 only really had the London Party mode, this one strikes it even by having both Legends Showdown for a solo playthrough and the Action & Answer tour for a more casual experience. Neither of them are entirely perfect, but they serve their purpose well enough.

EDIT: Never before seen Mario and Amy figure skating render!

...You know, when I heard it was a quiz mode, I thought it'd be like the one in London where you had to answer Mario and Sonic trivia that reaffirmed official info and even revealed some interesting stuff about characters.

Not...that. Blech.

While Sonic was getting the royal treatment, Amy was out trying some Italian spice.

Super Mario Land Remix is phenomenal.

The whole damn soundtrack is phenomenal, be it remixes or original scores.

The online is really silky smooth, too. No problems with it whatsoever, aside from only being able to play 4 events. Well, there is just one problem... there's hardly anyone to compete against because no one else has bought the damn game so far

So the online's just as dead as gens 3DS & Sonic racing transformed

At the moment, yeah. I tried playing some online matches tonight and I think I managed to successfully play about 3, all the other attempts didn't pick up any opponents. Though seeing as how poorly the game has sold in Europe (or the UK at least) so far, I can't say I'm surprised. That'll hopefully pick up once it releases in the US this Friday. And I really hope it does, because this is a very sublime online experience, even if it is limited.

Y'know I just have to wonder. If this series stretches all the way to 2020 Tokyo, considering Japan as a whole is very excited to be hosting that year, I wonder if Sega and Nintendo will try going all out on that one. I mean it is going to reflect on their home and whatnot. If I was in charge, I would expect that the game is able to represent my home in a way that amazes the rest of the world.

Glad to see I'm not the only one having issues finding people online. It's a real shame too, as it's a lot of fun playing Winter Sports Champion Race with people. I really do hope more people pick up the game soon.

Winter Sports Champion Race is an absolute blast of an event, definitely the best one out of the four online events. Maybe all us SSMB folk who have the game should swap Nintendo Network IDs so we can compete sometime! I'd be up for it!

If the poor sales of this entry continue then I'm doubtful we'll even see a Rio 2016 game, unless of course the Wii U has really started to shift some units by then.

Alas, the Mario and Amy one was the only additional one I could find, aside from all of the usual character art.

I can't wait until someone rips those character select renders. I mean, you get different art for each of the events.

Yeah, there's some really nice little touches like that in the game. They look so much nicer than the generic character select poses in previous entries.

That sounds fun! I certainly would love to add some more friends on the Wii U.

I don't have this game, but aside from music and visual, this title seems pretty bland.

the first olympic game was praised mostly for it beeing the first Sonic and Mario crossover, something totally unexpected, but technically was very limited. The first winter olympics one was to me the best entry, with new characters, Mii interactions, story mode and so on...

the London one felt like a DLC to the first game, and now with the last entry, this series has become nothing really more than a easy cash product. Almost no advertising, only  a couple of trailers, nothing new (the technical upgrade was mandatory due to the new system), if u also consider that this game is a Wii U exclusive (so the team wasn't split).

It's really sad, because with all the profit they made out of the previous games, there was a really huge potential to improve things. They also failed with the easiest things: u don't want to spend a lot of money for assets and events? At least take a couple of weeks to get some extra playable characters (the models of the rivals are READY to be used). They know that most of fans (at least the kids crowd) care more about the characters than the game modes itself.

Nothing, the game has been made with one philosophy in mind: " get a colorful package but spend less as possible for the gift inside". Too bad that even the package is lacking some "shine" this time around.

That said, I might buy this game for collection purposes only when the price goes down, but I don't appreciate the direction they're going.

I'm quite sure there will be a sequel though, and the only things they must do to rise the quality of the series are:

- More focus on the dream events, more precise controls, and more courses/scenarios for each events

- A much larger and efficient online multiplayer

- A wider cast of playable characters (8 more) and a story mode with interactions to please the majority of fans and rise even more the young crowd interests

Each new game of this series looks better than previous one. The first one was not interesting at all - it was simply sport simulator with Sonic and Mario characters names and their rough physical characteristic. The second and the third has featured some adventure element.

The fourth one even gives some winter-fairy-tale feeling and is good as Christmas/New Year entertainment.

A rare situation for videogame series: every incarnation of this series makes previous incarnations pointless.

I decided to get this game.............Its fun.

Me and bro enjoy most of the events like dream bobsleigh, the snowball fight (Favourite)

One the thing I don't like is how some events force you to use the gamepad, even in multiplayer player Always has to be gamepad, for some events.

I can't find a single person online.....

I can't believe they have a windy hill remix, it's so nice.

Great game so far,

Wow, I'm surprised they made the effort for a game like this. I particularly like how Blaze reacts so nervously to Amy's celebratory dance.
