To Generations 3DS's defense, there were 100 mission that could be done. Now, the method of unlocking was bullshit though. Why can't I play all of these mission from the get go?

I was talking about the In-game, so the extra missions doesn't count this time. I can't say they didn't add replayibility to the game, though. And honestly, I don't care if they're extra content or not, as long as I could pass a good time playing them.

Someone commented that the control in this version is so good that it felt like he wasactually moving Sonic.

I guess movement is super responsive, thus Cobermani calling it "slippery"?

The levels look too dull and static in this version.

I know this is a really old post, and it might be really silly to comment it at this point, but oh well.

Though I can't say the visuals could've been done better, I don't think the 3DS version looks dull/static. Yes, Windy Hill 1 didn't look super impressive and full, but they at least added some flowers and plants on the structures so it doesn't looks so empty...well, the point is that it's just not a bunch of structures with a grass texture on the top of them. Full gameplay of the act 2 hasn't been shown...yet, but I saw many trees on the trailer. Desert Ruins 1 looks certainly better, I love the shading and the sand textures. Act 2 looks pretty good as well. Frozen Factory looks really good as well, and I actually didn't have any problem with the Windy Hill-ish section, though I can't say it would've been rather lazy and disappointing if the whole level turned out to be completely like that. The factory section looks hella good IMO.

And the latest screenshots look good as hell. Seriously, the Frozen Casino looks half a lot nicer than Casino Night of Gen-3DS, which IMO, was the best looking stage along w/ Mushroom Hill. 2D Frozen Factory and Silent Jungle look pretty good as well.  Tropical Coast is so far the best looking level on the 3DS version as a whole IMO, maybe because I like tropical-ish levels, though the full game hasn't been shown yet so it's not the proper time to say that.

The overall backgrounds look really cool as well.

So in resume, I think for the 3DS the graphics are certainly impressive. They show the true power of the 3DS? NO, but IMO they're overall cool.

Well it's a bit redundant of you to be replying to an old post, especially since my opinion of the game has changed dramatically since then (as I've seen more of it now), but while it doesn't take full advantage of the 3DS hardware, it is still pretty pleasing to look at, well except Windy Hill Zone 1 at least; that level still looks pretty static and empty since there's no windmills nor waterfalls around, but it's not too big of a deal for me now that I know the rest of the game will look so much better. Heck, I think they even tweaked Sonic's model up a bit and doesn't look as low-poly as he did before. And now that I own Generations 3DS (which was surprisingly kinda fun, actually) I can say that Lost World 3DS is a massive step up for Dimps and they seem to be finally bringing their A-game this time around.

Will it be just as good as the Wii U version or better? Not likely, no. Will it be the best handheld Sonic game in years? Hell yes, it will.

3DS version of Lost world will contain proper cut scenes, most likely in the style what was done with Sonic colours, Recorded from Wii hardware (In this case Wii U) and then complied into a video for Steaming play back, in other words the main cutscnes on the wii U will be present on the 3DS!

That's the reason why I said it would be silly to comment it at this point =T.

And I already pointed out that, though it doesn't shows the TRUE POWAH of the Nintendo 3DS, it looks pretty good, even Windy Hill IMO. Well, it at least has some branches, plants and flowers so it doesn't looks so empty, and I think the Giant Totems that let out and let in those bunch of blue rocks compensate a bit the lack of windmills/waterfalls. Oh, and I noticed that on the giant "female" Caterkiller, there are bunch of rocks floating on the sky, so I don't know why they weren't on the other parts of the level before, but oh well.

And IKR? The later demos look better like in every way; the models look more polish, added Sonic's voice SFX, and more.

And I think the 3DS version would have it's own few superior things (like exploration, platforming and maybe color powers), while the Wii U has it's own superior things (like open level design with multiple paths and, of course, technology and graphics), but, as you said, this calls to be the best Sonic handheld ever!

Well, this is the second time someone said that the cutscenes are ported from the Wii U version. That's gotta mean something right?

On that thought... where is Cube?

That hasn't even been confirmed by IGN or GameTrailers, so...

I don't think the 3DS version will have superior exploration, as the Wii U version looks more open and seems to have more routes to take than the 3DS version; it seems a bit more linear and focused on platforming and puzzle solving, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but other than that, yeah, I agree. Game is looking great so far.

True. Still, I'd raise an eyebrow, just to be safe.

Well, Desert Ruins ZONE 2 has a good amount of alternate paths, plus the Drill Wisp adds even more exploration, and in Windy Hill I saw some lower structures, which the player didn't explore. They weren't alternate paths, and they weren't spammed in the whole level, but looked interesting. But what I'm really wondering is the way to 'unlock' the special stages. If you need a certain amount of rings to unlock them, that would make the 3DS version even more challenging.

True. Still, I'd raise an eyebrow, just to be safe.

The spin dash is as fast as the boost this time. It was slower in past footage, but maybe because it's not as instant as in the Wii U version, and you gotta charge it up a bit more to get to top speed?

I don't know why, now I imagine Sonic Unleashed with Sonic doing the spindash all the time and saying "GRRYYAAAAAAAAHHH" and "WOOOOOOOOOOOO"

It's pretty much Sonic using Generations 3DS' red burst but in 3D. And remember that Burst can create explosions in midair to propel himself.

He's talking about Special Stages though, not Red Burst.
