Yeah, it would be such a shame if the cutscenes turned out to be like the ones in Generations 3DS.

Some stuff I want to point out about the trailer's for the 3DS version:

Silent Forest for the 3DS version looks filled with Grind Rails so far, the 3D zone especially, it was like 100% grind in the trailer

Frozen Factory got shown off pretty big too, It gave us a view of the 2D portion of the Frozen Factory Casino zone which looks like it shifts from Day to Night & most likely from 2D to 3D & features the Cyan Laser.

Windy Hill got some footage shown off, mostly for the Windy Hill Cavern zone, showing off the Red Burst & an epic tube design =P

So according to the Japanese website, the 3DS version will indeed only have 3 Acts and a Boss battle per Zone, while the Wii U version has just 4 Acts per Zone and mid-level Boss battles (and if Windy Hill HD is to go by, they're fought in Acts 2 and 4, respectively), each with their own exclusive levels. It also seems the Candy and Honey Comb stages might be exclusive to the Wii U version. Oddly enough, the 3DS stage info seems to indicate that the Casino stage isn't a main level (despite the fact that there is evidence that it appears in the 3DS version in some way), either. Could it be that there's unlockable extra stages on 3DS, or maybe they appear in extra missions instead? Because it sure looks that way. If that's the case, then I'll be satisfied with the 3DS version.

Thanks for the info Tomoki, I just picked up on that shit too. I might see a pattern here that some of the zones actual have multiple themes inside of them, I read somewhere about a preview of Frozen Factory like a day ago "Watch as a frozen wonderland turns into a bustling casino(Something like that)"

So maybe as you progress in the zones, themes start to switch up.

Either way 3 & 4 zones is alright for me, cause the themes are pretty similar in the zones, I would be happy if some extra stages were unlocked, or some type of missions appeared though.

Anyway what if this:

Snowwoman_with_duckface.jpg

Turns into this casino when you progress through the zone?

Not sure, as it can go either way, due to this game's random, chaotic nature in terms of theme per World. As you said, for all we know Sonic could suddenly just bounce off of a big spring and land in a casino area in Frozen Factory Zone 3 or, as I said, it could just be a separate extra Act or mission altogether. The plot thickens...

I think that's something fair. The Wii U version has 4 zones, which 2 of them end on a boss fight, so 1 half of each level that ends on a a boss fight, form a whole level, while the 2 boss battles can be considered as the phase 1 and 2, while the 3DS version has 3 complete levels and a boss fight. I just hope the 3DS version has it's own exclusive levels as well, if it has exclusive wisps then why not exclusive levels?

And I think the casino levels being an extra level on the 3DS version makes a lot more sense.

Both theories turn out pretty good either way =P!

1. Lets say zones in the 3DS version change rapidly as you progress further into the zone, like you bounce off a spring & you end up in a totally different area of what you expected kinda like the pictures I posted. And maybe because of this we may see the Honeycomb or Sweet Mountain Zone somewhere in the 3DS version because If the Casino can make it, so can those zones.

2. We know that the 3DS version has 3 zones & the Wii U has 4 which is pretty equal this time around. But like you said, what if there are seperate acts or maybe extra zones for beating the boss or maybe missions, things could get interesting & we might see what we were hoping for.

3. I was looking at the moves trailer for the 3DS version & I noticed that at the beginning they showed Windy Hill, but it different from what we've already seen in Windy Hill 3DS, hmm.. Also the guy in the Spanish gameplay hadn't even beat the game yet, he was around Desert Ruins Zone 1 or something like that. So maybe there are bonus zones not considered part of the main zones.

4. We've seen a look at some of these new trailers & it looks like some zones take themes from other worlds in the Lost Hex. Like for instance Silent Forest takes a Frozen Factory type cavern look & Lava Mountain takes the Underwater Grind Rail theme. So maybe these stages are more chaotic than we expected as we go further into the game or unlock more in the Lost World?

Wii U: 4 Zones, 1 Boss, 2 Mini Bosses

3DS: 3 Zones, 1 Boss, 1 Mini Boss

(Bonus Zones are a possibility)

1000px-SLW_3DS_Zazz_Fight.png

This has to be a mini boss because I dont think Windy Hill Sunset changes from Evening to Night like in the Wii U, besides Zazz is in Windy Hill Zone 3 in this screenshot so you probably face him somewhere in the zone. (Notice Zazz in the 2D environment)

Then this is the Zazz boss for the 3DS version taking place at night time. (Notice Zazz in the 3D environment)

Zazz_3DS_battle_I.png

Does this mean the 3DS version won't get the candy trope? Aw...

Its possible, there could be a chaotic change inside zones. Like what if in Desert Ruins Zone 3, you hit a spring or one of those Lego War Head things & you get transported to the candy trope or Honeycomb, then the spring sends you back to the respective Desert Theme?

Also I think theres more to these stages than the gameplay we've already seen cause we've pretty much all seen Desert Ruins Zone 1, I know for a fact we didnt see this:

Your_fate_is_to_be_blocked....png

Maybe they added extra stuff to these zones, meaning we could totally see the Honeycomb after Sonic hits a spring. I remember how when I first saw Frozen Factory everyone was like "This looks like a snowed over Windy Hill" until Sonic hit that spring & he made it to the second portion of the zone where the factory element took over & we saw gears & all that stuff. That means we could still see zones like the Honeycomb, Candy Trope, all that good stuff. And most likely they have more to these zones than the demo gameplay we've already seen =P

Well, we have a 3D casino stage, and a 2D casino stage that has the day-night transition, it's something, right? RIGHT?!

Man, It just looks like they want to make the 3DS version EVEN MORE inferior...seriously, what the fuck, SEGA...

Damn man, your theories rise so many hopes... and are pretty interesting, as well. I also noticed that the 2D Zazz's boss is on the sunset (dash), while the 3D part takes place on Nighttime.

Oh and something I want to point out are the trees. As Dark Tomoki said, it would've been nice to add them on the 3D level, I still think it looks cool without them, but just hope they appear on the final version, but if not, I have no problem with it. Oh well, moving on. That would be something really interesting, Knux and, when you know the suprises this game has...

Man i'll always throw theories out to there to support the game, gotta keep the ball rollin, keep shit interesting =D. I'll piece together whatever I can find on these screenshots & gameplay to bring together a legit theory, besides it's really fun to think about & put the game into higher detail.

The guy in the Spanish video didn't have the game fully beaten, didn't collect every Red Star Ring, didn't even make it past Desert Ruins Zone 1. Bonus zones & missions are a possibility, maybe Red Star Rings & beating the boss of that world lead on to extra stuff in that zone? Maybe during zones, you could get launched off by a spring & end up in an unlikely area you wouldn't expect!

Frozen Factory says:

"Skate along the icy paths of Frozen Factory at lightning speed as the mechanical arctic islands turn into a casino filled extravaganza."

In my defenition this means, you mess around in the Frozen Factory & as you progress through the gears & snow you find yourself in a casino, meaning as you progress it opens up & reveals itself further more & puts the zone into higher detail. Who says the same won't happen for Desert Ruins?

"Desert Ruins doesn’t just offer huge desert plains to discover and huge sandstorms to escape from… Sonic must also explore the sweet-filled ‘Dessert’ Ruins and a giant bee hive!"

Maybe theres a trend going on here, in Zone 3 of Frozen Factory Sonic gets launched off into the actual Casino, at 1st glance Desert Ruins Zone 3 looks like the same desert trend but who knows, maybe when you progress further & smash a couple lego heads you could end up in either a Honeycomb(Most likely becuase Desert Ruins Zone 3 is 3D & so is the Honeycomb, or you could end up in the Candy Trope, maybe in 3D?

Allright, I think we all know a 3DS version of Dessert Ruins would totally OWN the Wii U's Dessert Ruins.

Ok I just realized the out of place zones might actually be a separate world; crazy I know, but think about it, if we don't have "insert last world name here" then those zones are the last world.

silly silly question, but have you seen cutscenes yet. probably not

Actually it shows the opening cutscene and the cutscene with knuckles and amy same as the wii u version just at a lower resolution

sadly the video i'm uploading won't show those because they only play the first time you play the demo once you beat the demo and come back to it it sends you back to the level select
