.....Er, as nice as it looks, can't we have a different trope instead please?

Dude, we haven't had a full blown Casino level in 10 years, I think we're overdue!

Well, what other trope would you've wanted here? This is the first use of the "Casino Park" trope in a 3D Sonic game since Shadow the Hedgehog and its Circus Park level.

To be fair we've only seen 2 worlds and already like 5 or more tropes, there's plenty of room for more.

Haunted pyramid trope and snowy tropes are ones that aren't in Sonic nearly often enough, both are present. Casino trope also hasn't been in a 3D Sonic since 2005.

Now I see! The level selection in Generations was intentionally weird so Lost World could have all the glory! Those cheeky bastards!

Does Casino Street a couple years ago not count? Doesn't Casino Night from Gens 3DS count?

Not 3D, but still.

And, exactly why am I being so explosively assaulted for saying that we should have a different trope?

We're talking about games that matter.

I actually find it more astonishing that these originated via the TSS facebook group.

I didn't know there was a TSS facebook group.

Meh, I was never a big fan of the casino-themed levels in Sonic games, but that's just me. Aesthetically, the only level in the game I seem to like the design of is the jungle one.

Ooh, a full-on casino level again. I guess we can expect pretty much anything to go in this world.

I'm enjoying the bromance of badniks and Egg Pawns. Here's hoping dem pinball physics work.

Well they did in the Generations DLC. Somehow that worked but sliding/rolling down hills didn't. o_O

I wouldn't call one person being snarky an "explosive assault." Regardless, let's not forget that Sonic Team is on record for basically saying they want to shove every trope under the sun into this game, hence candy stages in a desert level, snd who knows where this casino is supposed to be? Could be right next to the purple water ruins level (hint hint Sega). Which tropes do you think should be there though?

Considering Zavok's face is in the Casino, I'm guessing it's going to be a Fire based area, maybe something like Caldera Casino Zone or something like that. Or maybe it's one of those buildings you find at a beachside.

These screenshots aren't on SEGA's press site or Flickr page. It does look like the press site will be updated with the screenshots and the new trailer soon though.

It's Sonic 06.

That was my thought right before I read your post. Either I'm psychic or your a Ninja. ... BOTH!!

As awesome as this is, I'm not sold on the "Lost World" part of this game, SEGA seemed to be using it as an excuse to throw all sorts of level tropes, Badniks and Gimmicks from Sonic's past, I don't mind it but I'm not buying the whole "Sonic has never been here/encountered this place before" when for one, his face is quite obviously fucking plastered all over this stage along with his name.

Still looks amazing though, it definitely got a smile out of me and made me think "Heroes isn't dead after all!"

They do that all the time. Every Casino zone has the main characters of that game's face and name, even when one of those characters wasn't well known or wasn't even present in the dimension. Sonic 2 had Sonic and Tails name and faces even though Tails was a bullied kid in Emerald Hill Zone and was certainly not famous before Sonic met him (Tails' Adventures on Cocoa Island being an event no one knew about). And Sonic Rush's casino zone had Sonic and Blaze's name and faces. But Blaze had JUST appeared in Sonic's World when she entered the zone.

I swear to god SEGA if you fuck this game up with a shitty end boss ala Generations or add stupid mission requirements to progress further in the game ala Secret Rings, then I will not be taking that shit no more.

NO MORE.

This game is looking too good to be true hnnngh...

In the immortal words of Kendrick Lamar: Bitch, don't kill my vibe. But seriously, I'm still of the mindset that there's going to be six main acts for each area and no missions considering they've not mentioned them yet. Final boss being bad? Yeah, they're pretty much around one for eight in that department.
