We are ALL going to HATE this part of the level.

Hmm... Possibly. But then again... There is that conveniently placed rail close by... Maybe we can jump to that? Unless another Crocodile chomps up that too! D:

These look really good. I'm admittedly still not the hugest fan of the artstyle but some of these do look genuinely beautiful, especially the jungle and casino area.

Those stages weren't that bad. Then again I haven't played Heroes in years. Generations may have had a lot of classic stages, but Lost World captures the spirit a whole lot more. It just looks like pure fun. I want this game badly.

As someone who had played and throughly enjoyed Heroes, the Pinball levels are garbage. The pinball controls are some of the worst controls to be experienced in a Sonic game.

But Casino Park/Bingo Highway are my favorite stages in Heroes. D:

 

And wow, these new screenshots looks great! I was feeling very neutral before but the more the game is revealed the better it looks. I'm really looking forward to it now.

That says a lot when compared to the infamous Sonic 06. *shot*

Sonic becomes an eagle, flying high over a desert, But Sonic is a hedgehog, hedgehogs cannot fly, and eagles do not live in the desert. And how the mountains have teeth... mountains do not have teeth.

The eyes on booth these creatures are not normal, they fly all over the place, but are locked in a stare.

 

CONCLUSION!

 

Sonic Lost World is actually a halucination after Sonic took some drugs following his 20th birthday party! We never did find out what was in those chilli dogs!

Just speculation, but someone pointed out that you can see the face from the Honeycomb level in the background if the one with the loop. So maybe the honeycomb tree level is a transition stage between Windy hill and Desert Ruins? And after you reach the face it falls to the desert

God damn the amount of variety in this games levels so far is insane.  I don't think there's been any other Sonic game that's even come close to having this much variety.  So far we've had the Windy Hill stuff with day and night variants, a candy level, a honeycomb level, jungle levels, desert levels, snowy forest level, Amazonian ruin like levels and a casino level and we've barely scratched the surface of the levels so far.

I wonder what the deal is with those white tokens.  Are they like unique sort of rings specifically for the casino levels?

I will remain cool. So. What do I think of all this?

 

 - The Casino screens give me strong Heroes vibe. It's not my favorite level trope in Sonic games but I will say that in this kinda level the new art direction is not so noticeable and actually fits. Why? Because it's not natural environment, it consists of dice and other casino stuff. It's been like that since Sonic 2 and that's why it looks fine. Great even. (maybe). I don't really like that it looks too Heroes-like making it a rehash (Sonic 4 episode 2 also had some reminiscent level tropes but gave them a special spin) but of all levels shown so far, I like this one the most as of now.

 

Also, do notice that when the environment looks more detailed and NATURAL, the level looks so much better than that blocky crap previously shown in other levels.

Nature should look like nature no matter how surreal the world is. It was like that in the classic games, it was like that in all other games before SLW. Frog Forest in Heroes was very surreal but it was beautiful and looked like that kinda place could actually exist in Sonic's world, it looked natural. Surreal levels are fine but when you make lego trees and toyish everything instead of making it look like nature, it looks like ass.
