This guys boss battle is pretty irritating.

Ok... this is a huge image (both the size and filesize). It's not the original filesize.

I got this from the Sega Press Vault, I know it's not a new image but don't know if it's been released at this resolution yet. If anyone with access can snag it in it's original form, it's there. I've tried only it crashed my browser each time I tried to upload it.

Yeah, I was pretty amazed when I saw that. I have it in my desktop background rotation because I love it so much.

That image is over the threshold for Imgur compression, so if anyone wants it in its full, unadulterated quality, I've hosted it here (I've made it download-only due to size; my server and your browser will thank me for it).

When they're dealing with the King of Chaos himself, it better be!

Is that part of the Deadly Six DLC? I have yet to play it to be honest.

Yep it's the NiGHTMARE level.

Which is horribly underwhelming.

Yeah, I have to say that I was VERY disappointed in the NiGHTMARE DLC after being so excited about it beforehand :(

The heck? It's a flippin' Windy Hill reskin!

The NiGHTMARE level goes as follows:

When you select the stage on the map, Sonic falls alseep. Cut to Sonic running through Windy Hill in his dreams. Reala shows up, makes the place go all trippy and opens up a portal to the Nightmare dimension. Face off with some of the Deadly Six on NiGHTS bosses. Then I think there's another trippy Windy Hill section before fighting the rest of the Deadly Six. And it ends with Sonic running through a now-less-trippy Windy Hill while NiGHTS flies around in the background. You beat the stage by smashing open a cage with Nightopians in it. The end.

^^^

It's worth stressing that the boss fights are severely shortened versions of the Zone 2 encounters. For example, you don't even fight Zomom. He just gets skydiving section that ends and the moves on to Zik the moment you land.

New Pic from Facebook

Wether or not the DLC in itself is lame, if you don't think Sonic and NiGHTS being together in the same game is the best thing ever then get out of my face.

Considering that more up to date renders of NiGHTS and company are now existent, it'd be an awfully big tease to not take advantage of the attention garnered by the NiGHTMARE DLC and give NIGHTS and new game or something, especially considering how Iizuka has a soft spot spot for the Dream Jester.

It'd be more profitable flushing their money right down the toilet, honestly.

Which is sad.

Sega, stop using those disgusting Journey of Dreams designs.

awww :( the hype for the DLC  is going down. Well it's free. and better than Casino pinball stage in generations so it's a step up? I guess.

It's on the same level as Casino Night, if not worse because there's nothing about it worth playing.

Psh, JoD may be not up to par quality-wise, but I vastly prefer the designs of that game where the characters actually look more like jesters rather then weird flesh hands NiGHTS.

Besides the voice acting, unskippable cutscenes, and the incredibly choppy framerate inside said cutscenes I personally don't see why everyone hates journey of dreams so much, it plays just as well as the first one and the camera is finally at an angle that you can see ahead of you with (not that its a problem in the first game for me but it helps though) and honestly with the added mission variety and stuff it really isn't as bad as people make it out to be and based on everyone else I thought it was going to be some horrible glitchy mess that was unplayable or something.

Oh don't get me wrong, I actually real enjoyed the fuck outta JoD and think it's a pretty decent game, I just have no doubt that the original is better. Not to mention those abysmal child sections (which tnankfully only take up a bit of the game), otherwise I enjoyed all the NiGHTS stuff.
