I don't know. I've been replaying Galaxy recently and it's hard imagining this surpassing it.

My guess is that it acts as a hub for an extra world for collecting all the green stars or something, but it being plot related would also be pretty awesome.

Technically Super Mario Sunshine would be considered the worst 3D Mario game or at best just a decent Black Sheep game, but its still considered a great game.
