Just because it'll take longer to make a character isn't me "underestimating" them, if not I'm more so praising them for taking their time to put polish onto characters, Nintendo are known for taking their time to deliver the best experience for their triple A titles, Mario Kart is literally top tier Nintendo, so I'd imagine they'd take their time.

 

I hope they do take DLC into consideration, they'd be stupid to offer fucking DLC for some Golf game, but not for one of their main titles.

Now this I can agree with, I really hope they give it their all as well, and the fact they have a year long advertising campaign planned out really indicates that they realize that this is their last chance, and that they plan to give it their all, or least thats what I hope

 

oh and there is also the japanese style work effort to consider as well, they put all their time and effort into it, even at the risk of their own health

Who's asking for more babies? Those slots could have gone to much better characters, not just more filler.

 

I never suggested you or anyone else wanted more baby characters, I said I would take them over baby characters.

 

It's fair enough you don't care for them and you feel that their filler, but saying that nobody wants something in a game just feels like  jumping the gun and frankly has always been a pet peeve of mine. Whether or not the majority is happy or disappointed with the Koopalings inclusion is up for debate, (which I don't really feel like doing at the moment, so lets just agree to disagree on that case.) but there's no need to disregard those who are happy with their inclusion

Nope that's the Wario Glider.

 

Yeah it did looked like the SMB2 Pidget enemiesat first, but it was actually Wario's mustache, eyes and noes, like on the Wario Ware game boxes.

We originally didn't think Mario Kart 8 would have voice chat, but this mention on the eShop would seem to indicate otherwise. We'll try to get confirmation from Nintendo on this.

 

Its on the e-shop, and seems a little too specific to be a mistake.... we are definately getting a direct this month there are still way too many unknowns

What, like, exaggerate the accents of the regions we're from?  I don't think I could hold a fake surfer voice for a whole race.

I believe Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate had game chat.

The Call of Duty games and Monster Hunter spring to mind. The GamePad has a microphone built into it for such a purpose. Though you can also buy a headset accessory.

MK8 is Nintendo's last big-hitter before E3, and they fully intend it to be very big indeed, so I'd be surprised if there weren't a specialised Direct shortly before release to overwhelm potential buyers with enticing information.  An online multiplayer race between various Nintendo figures would be a very good way of showcasing the game's features whilst also reinforcing the image of the company's executives as down-to-earth gamers at heart.

Ok time to list what stuck out to me in the trailer

 

• The sheer amount of vehicle selection,design and customization is astounding, everything looks so good.
• The original go-kart frames from Mario Kart 64 are an option now, I can go back to classic karts fuck yeah!
• MK8 RAINBOW ROAD OMGOMGOMG
• TOAD'S TURNPIKE OMGOMGOMG
• The horn can cancel out blue shells, about fucking time there was an item that could counteract them!
• The overall detail in literally everything is mind blowing to say the least.
• Online customization for tourneys and races are vast and down to the last detail for perfect tourney planning, even a date and time schedule!
• Nintendo band playing and making a completely new Soundtrack that isn't just background noise or forgettable.
• multiple people can use the SAME character online??
• Mario Kart TV allows you upload replays directly to youtube, Nintendo is pushing and encouraging us to share our moments on Youtube!
• Retro track selection is incredible.
• Free downloadable Wii U game just for adding Mario Kart 8 to your club Nintendo account.

 

Things that Didn't impress me.

 

• Baby fucking Rosalina
• PINK METAL PEACH!?
• A roster of 30 characters
• The way the Direct was handled was so cringeworthy it was hard to sit through it, pls Iwata.

The character roster is honestly Mario Kart 8's weakest feature to me, seriously DD had the best.

Okay. Someone tell me if I'm seeing this right. About 0:30 in the trailer, we see a track very similar to Wario Stadium DS. But before that we had Bowser Castle Wii. Yoshi Valley and GCN Sherbet Land were shown off, so that makes... seventeen tracks in total.

Am I missing something here?
