Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS - Settle It In Smash!

I just completed the Tower of Gods.   ... yeah, I don't like WW all too much. Can't say exactly why though. It's just not to my tastes very much. Also, Gohdan was laughably easy. I thought I'd just beaten his first phase or something, but the battle ended.
Umm, wrong topic man?:P Anyway, what Stage do you think Sonic will get for 3DS? If they use Windy Hill, I'm willing to get it will be a different act. But I'm hoping for Frozen Factory or the beach stage(seaside coast I think?)

Haha, yeup! Had both tabs open :P

I'd rather they didn't bother with anoth SLW stage in the 3DS version. There's plenty of other Sonic locales to choose from from other games on Nintendo platforms.

They'll probably use LW nonetheless and use the excuse that there is a 3DS version. Much like they did with Generations and Tropical Resort.

Personaly, I think it would be awesome if they did music factory for 3DS! or a rush adventure stage, or perhaps on the major ship

Speaking of music, I wonder how it's handled this time around.

They haven't, or at least not yet, been too crazy like they were with Brawl on "homg we have soooo much content !!" It's made me wonder if the soundtrack will be nearly as massive or not. I have a feeling the Wii U might stick with the same route of having stages with multiple songs, and at the very least to a lesser degree in optional music range for each. But my main curiosity is the 3DS version. I mean could you have enough room to do that? If not I could see them getting away with just the one song per level, seeing as the stages are different in that game, but still, leaves me wondering I guess.

Assuming stages get multiple songs again, I do hope there's a bit more remixing, if not all of it remixed music. While fighting to classic tracks pulled straight from games, they feel kinda bland in comparison that was tailor fitted for Smash, not to mention more interesting I think. For a game built on Nintendo passion, I would love to see the handful of composers have a crazy fun time remixing everything they can imagine instead of just porting old files over haha.

Lastly, I keep wondering how much of Mega Man's stage music will be rock/metal renditions of select music from the original games. Would like to see them spice it up a bit more, but would understand if they shared the same genre as well. Sonic on the other hand, I hope there's a least more than one remix. He was added late in the development last game so I always gave that the pass as to why there's only one song remixed while 12 billion others are just ported in (or maybe that he's just not a Nintendo character idk). But yeah, would love more tracks from across his history to be remixed to some degree at least *shrugs*. At least toss in Generation's remixes of things plz.

EDIT: On the note of Sonic's 3DS stage, I'm still kinda on the hunch that'll be Casino Night for some reason. Casino levels are highly memorable in the Sonic series and kind of one his staple level tropes. Seeing as it returns in some form to SLW, as well as being recently in Sonic Generations for 3DS, it just seems to fit the bill. Plus pinballing around as Sonic when fighting would be interesting to say at least lawl

A random stage is not going to be chosen to represent the Sonic series. Smash has stages that are either significant enough to stand out on its own as go-to locales in the series to the public, like Wily's Castle and GHZ, are ripped directly from the most recent game in the series, like Smash 3DS's Arena Ferox and Melee's Termina Bay, or can be constructed as a composite stage, taking elements from the series overall, like Distant Planet and Lylat Cruise.

You are more likely to see a Sonic 3DS stage come from Generations 3DS, Colors DS, or Lost World 3DS. There's no smashing in Twinkle Snow Zone Act 2 or Secret Base Zone Act 1 here.

But my main curiosity is the 3DS version. I mean could you have enough room to do that? If not I could see them getting away with just the one song per level, seeing as the stages are different in that game, but still, leaves me wondering I guess.

Could go the Melee route and have two songs per stage at the most, with the second song being toggled on by pressing a button at the stage select screen. Or it could be random, which has its own pleasures; I constantly lost my shit every time the Fire Emblem theme started playing in the LOZ Great Maze level in Adventure Mode. <3

Well technically we could get a Rush stage if they are picking something from Gen. 3DS. (Well wouldn't they recognize the stage from its original appearance and not a anniversary game anyways then?)

Samus's missiles have been altered. Looks like the missiles can be sliced in half if a sword attack - or any move that has a "slicing" effect in the move's code - connects with it.

Sakurai's comment:

"If it's just a missile, a sword can slice it right up. Of course, you could just use your bare hands."

Is it really necessary to nerf Samus' missiles? They're not exactly overpowered as they are.

Maybe they'll receive some sort of buff as a trade-off.

I did a little roster mock-up using the character boxes from the official website.

I think it would be cool if the icons for the roster selection screen were coloured just like the ones on the website.

I wonder if this game will get DLC?

Now they are stronger than bob-ombs.

It's uncertain, but you can hope only for post-release contents: Sakurai said some time ago that he is more concerned right now about finishing the main game.

This isn't really a nerf. Samus' missiles never had particularly good priority anyway. The move Pit used there probably would've clanked with the missile in Brawl. If anything this is just a nice aesthetic touch.

I really hope Samus gets considerably buffed in Smash 4. The nerfs she received in Brawl were so unwarranted especially considering she was arguably one of the most balanced characters in Melee. She was solid and super fun to play with her unique physics and play style. I hope they being some of that back along with trying to give her more athletic animations. Samus in previous Smash games was kinda robotic in a number of her motions bit Smash 4 looks to be changing that by giving her the Other M look (fingers crossed she gets her cool Other M dodge rolls too).

Maybe the sliced missiles still explode.

That's implying usefulness. We can't have that here.

I am still waiting for Mario to adopt Dr. Mario's moveset(which is much better). Anyone else agree with me?

I don't really remember much about Dr. Mario's moveset, beyond the obvious pills and the fact his Tornado causes people to exit on an angle rather than straight vertical. =S

Dr. Mario's Forward aerial also sends people vertical at a ridiculous speed too.

And his Fsmash has an electric effect.

Doc may go through the same motions as Mario, but very little of his moves do the same thing as Mario's.
