Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS - Settle It In Smash!

While there are plenty of stages I think I'd rather see in a Smash game, ultimately I think wishing for another third-party stage for a franchise that already has one is especially naieve. Especially if it's going to be from games as obscure as Chaotix and StF.

Ha, hitching a ride on the G.U.N truck, where hazards include G.U.N mechs shooting at you and certain parts of the G.U.N truck trailer opening into saw blades if you stand in an area too long.

I like the tour of City Escape idea too.

If Sonic does get another level, it ought to be one of Eggman's bases; the industrial counterpoint to the naturalistic Windy Hill. Scrap Brain, Chemical Plant, Death Egg, any of them will do.

Tangentially related, we're also long overdue for a solid Bowser stage...

Doesn't really matter if something is obscure or not really, sides a good number of stages from those could turn out better than the stages from mainstream games and while I know nostalgia is a cool thing it doesn't have to be everything when it comes to the stages but I will concede that I would be happy just having some songs from fighters in smash.

Death Egg Mk. II with some elements and aesthetics of E.G.G. Station and the original Death Egg could be a proper fit. Covers the retro style of the series without going headlong into it like bringing back Green Hill as a legacy stage would. There could even be a stage gimmick with gravity manipulation and stage turning, like Death Egg did with the former and DE Mk. II did with the latter. Spear Pillar did those two things before, but those mechanics employed by a space base stage sounds more natural.

which Death Egg mk2? episode 4's or Fighters'? admittedly the arena from Fighters could be fun

Episode 4's. StF's is the Death Egg II.

Just makes more sense for the platformer character to have a game from a platformer, not from a fighting game.

I gotta agree on the Bowser thing. Bowser's Castles/bases are some of the most iconic Mario levels. How is it that something with so much potential is getting the boot in favor of Mario Kart and cheap boring retro based stages?:/

If Sonic gets another stage, Eggmanland or bust. All that time talking about it, and Eggman finally builds it? That had better get some recognition.

I concur. I loved Peach's Castle from melee and I would think that a Bowser stage would at least be on par with that stage.

You guys know the rules: Only Metroid stages can have lava and vice versa.

If Sonic were allowed another stage, I would pick a casino based level. For me the most prominent and memorable level tropes in Sonic games are the green hill type area, industrial/mechanical areas and Casino areas.

If there was a 2nd Sonic level I'd prefer either Death Egg from 3&K (The gravity gimmick could be great) or Launch Base because...I don't know, but I'd like it

So, who remembers Steel Diver?

It fires slow-at-start torpedoes. So basically the item equivalent of Samus's Super Missiles.

So, who remembers Steel Diver?

I remember Steely Dan.

Jojo confirmed for Smash Bros!

No not really actually. Steel Diver sounds like something in Nintendo's early works or something. And its not ironically enough. Silly me!

That is quite possibly the most radtastically awesome gun I've ever heard of, homigosh. I don't care if it's slow or impractical even possibly, I want to shoot fucking torpedoes LOL

That gun looks rad as hell.

Only Sakurai could turn a fucking submarine into a hand gun.

Wii Fit Trainer, Streetpass Quest Stage, and now Steel Diver gun!?  Haha.  This is what's so great about Smash Bros.  It's not just overboard fanservice about pandering to the whims of the most vocal fans.

It's a game about Nintendo.  ALL of it.

Except the Wario Land series.

*Whistles!* Yo! Still got my copy and I still play it too. (For anyone asking: Yes, I'll take my medal and/or cookie now. Thanks. :U)

Anyway, this is freaking great! Really happy to see Steel Diver in some shape or form in Smash Bros.  Despite Steel Diver: Subwars coming soon, I didn't think the game had a chance, since the original fell off the face of the earth right at it's release date. Yeah, Smash series isn't bias against the obscure, but still I had my doubts.

Now just wishfully thinking to myself, I was hoping for a possible Steel Diver stage, which is still a possibility, but I'm satisfied with the torpedo gun even if nothing else comes. I think it's kind of cute how it resembles the ND-03 Blue Shark sub. I wouldn't put it pass Sakurai if he adds the "FIRE!" voice clip when you shoot it.

Just barely. Wasn't that in development since like 2005?

The gun itself looks pretty weird but awesome at the same time, and the thought of shooting torpedoes is awesome. I hope the torpedoes don't do too much knockback though.

Likely due to us approaching 2014, were getting better pics and info. Hoping they keep this up.

Also possibility of us getting closer to the release date! I imagined it would be announced prior/around E3, and I imagine we should get interesting Nintendo direct news(and that it should come later this week hopefully!)
