I think it's a stellar move.

Remember that Smash Bros. is meant to get people into the other Nintendo franchises. Including a character from one of the casual gamers' go-to games is another one of those ways.

I remember some discussion a long time ago that Brawl and the next Smash should have a Mii as a playable character. Using someone with at least more identity is a superior choice in that regard.

R.O.B. makes sense because he was a BIG part of Nintendo's original success with video games. Plus, he's a good character in Brawl. The Wii Fit Trainer makes no sense at all unlike R.O.B. However, she is still awesome. Seriously. I'm gonna play as her all day erry day.
