Sonic Lost World - Music Thread

Personally I don't care for any songs on this soundtrack except for Desert Zone 3. Windy Hill's music is too repetitive, it gets annoying real quickly... Honestly this is probably my least favorite soundtrack from any Sonic game to date. Sadly it's probably going to be the first Sonic game I play on mute. :\ Well until I get to Desert Zone 3 of course. tongue.png

Uhhhhh.......im not sure if you're honestly being serious or not.

I'm definitely being serious, I love most soundtracks in the Sonic games (well besides that horrible soundtrack from Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood...) but this one is meh to me. I only like one song so far from what we've heard from gameplay videos, the other tracks are repetitive and I just can't get into them. :\

In fairness, we've only heard 4 tracks, and brief excerpts of the menu theme and orchestral main theme. Personally I love all of them so far, and can't decide on a favourite.

Windy Hill Act 1 is awesome but quite repetitive it seems, while the 3DS Desert pyramid level music is awesome, like if Shamar Hub and Arid Sands Night got it on and this was the result (the bass is so good).

I don't mind the honeycomb one but don't find it particularly engaging, and the candy level's music is painfully bland.

Whether this will be one of the best remains to be seen, but it doesn't seem like it'll be one of my favourites just from these tracks, but there is still most of the game left to show so my mind could change.

Well CyanBlur one of my favorite Sonic mashup and remix artists on youtube is already preparing to tackle Lost World music. He's working on remix of the HoneyComb music and Sneakman from JSR

Someone in the comments pointed out that the bark pieces look like Popsicle sticks so I guess that explains how it would have to do with dessert.

Not strictly related to Lost World music, but this is a pretty awesome mash up of the trailer music (Cinema by Benny Benassi) and Rooftop Run (Which the song kind of resembles.)

I am actually looking forward to one particular track in this game, which I really hope doesn't get scrapped since I only heard it once in all the gameplays...

Listen to that piano... Just... Just listen... I don't know how to explain, but somehow that single piece of piano is the best thing I've heard from the game yet, and its so... Short... I dont understand why I love it so much, I just know that its a beautiful piece, which I fear will get scrapped since It never played on any other Gameplay videos, even the ones that show the Level Select on the demo.

One thing that I noticed in the Gamescom demo for Windy Hill is that the 2D section got a slight variation of the song. Unless I'm mistaken, I hear extra horns added to certain parts.

Also, anyone else get an almost "Windmill Isle Christmas Day" sound from Frozen Factory?

Glas that I'm not the only one who's heard this.

Windy Hill 4 just sounds like a slightly more ambient version of act 1 to me

It sounds exactly like act 1 to me.

Just gonna bump this topic with a recap of what I've said in that other topic - I kind of notice a few motifs and compositional tricks that some of the tracks share with one another, joining them altogether as one unified soundtrack...

Except for two.

I've already analyzed Desert Ruins Zone 2 and a friend has done for Zone 3 - they don't share any stylistic similarities to anything we've heard yet so far... With that track from the 3DS version, I'm betting on Desert Ruins being a musical deviation - with a large deviation in the other aspects of this Round to justify it.

Casino Night Zone is also nothing like the other Frozen Factory tracks we've been shown so far (which although I can't place specifics, sound somewhat similar to me - I haven't done a full analysis or anything though, so they might not be) Presumably the "random" acts (i.e. casino zone, candy zone, beehive zone) have completely unique tracks, whereas the acts that are all unified under one trope (Desert Ruins's Desert levels, Frozen Factory's frozen factory levels) all share similar tracks.

I'm absolutely in love with that Desert song. It's so fucking catchy and skatastically rad that I can barely handle it XD. It's a great example of what a Sonic song should do, which is conveying a lot of energy and just making you wanna get up and go. Usually I get sick of songs on extended loops but I'm still loving this 11 minutes in surprisingly.

I have full intention of not touching this board until I've completed the game, but you can sure as hell bet I'm gonna spoil myself rotten with the music. Frozen Factory has alleviated all my fears that the music in this game would suck.

Sonic Lost World is at 02:07. I was wondering if this is new music. It sounds like it could be boss music.

Now that I think about it, could it be that the Deadly Six might have a collective theme in addition to their own  boss themes? This might be the collective theme.

Nope.  Music was in the Summer of Sonic trailer:
