Well we know there is a snowy forest stage based on that clip of Zeena in the latest trailer.

Also from the first teaser image which showed all of the worlds. :V

Glad to hear that we're getting impressions, but that bites that we may not get footage due to it being a closed demo. :\

Maybe we should just wait until the game comes out at this point.  It always feels a little lame when we've seen every level by the time release day rolls around.

^^^ I don't think we have to worry about that, I'm sure we haven't even scratched the surface of Lost World's content right now.

Wow that Casino level looks nice. This is really looking like the closest thing to classic Sonic in 3D that we've had so far

Damn, Frozen Factory looks really amazing! The whole area looks beautiful, really stands out from the levels we've seen in full before. The coin thing looks rather neat, and the pinball looks rather fun. Can't wait to play in in 60fps, HD, 60" with surround sound speakers! This'll be amazing!

The livestream won't work. Anybody have any idea how to go back the livestream?

EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out.

It looked like a lot of fun, but I'd like to see someone with more skill busting through there with flow. This game still looks a bit on the jerky side to control, repeatedly from high-to-low speed and back, but I won't lie, it looks like lots of fun.

How'd you do it? It's not working for me.

EDIT: Wait, never mind. I got it now.

When I see screens or trailers, I get hyped. When I see actual gameplay, I go sour on it. Sigh.

That Casino level definitely looked really fun.  Overall great load of footage.  What really caught my attention were the following:

- Good to see the little WiiU tutorial prompt.  Non intrusive to the gameplay and entirely optional depending on whether or not you click/check the screen.  And Windy Hill still looks as fun to go through as it did when we saw the first lot of footage.

- Some of the new camera angles were pretty nice.  Gives a little more of a cinematic feel to some areas.  Particularly in the candy level, it just made it a little more interesting (though it's still not the best or most interesting level).  Additionally, the new camera angles for stuff like the kicking attack and the Cyan Laser were nice too.  The way the game stops, whilst some would say is intrusive or disrupts the flow (which I agree with to an extent) I feel really draws emphasis to the strength of the manoeuvres.

- The casino level was very vivid and full of life.  So many bright colours it was rather dazzling to look at.  And yet I never thought whilst watching that it was too overwhelming, even though the video isn't the best quality.  I can't wait to see this in motion in proper 1080p.

- The level was surrounded by walls that were often parallel to each other.  Despite the fact that the parkour was only really used in one or two sections, it looks like it could definitely be used everywhere.  Note at points such as just before he entered the pinball section, there where two higher sections to the sides.  Could they possibly lead to anywhere?  What happens if Sonic falls through the pinball area and doesn't get the points he needs?  Looks like there's a lot of potential movement possibilities.

- The Egg Pawns were fucking adorable.  The way they just ran at Sonic just made me giggle.  And the Crawls look cool as well.  It's neat that although you cannot kick them yourself to make kill them straight away, kicking them turns them around which allows you to attack them again from the back.  Also, kicking another enemy into them hurts them too.

- There's a real number and variety of unique obstacles and level gimmicks so far.  It's absolutely wonderful to see each level filled with its own character.  Each level so far has felt very unique from the last and to me that's a very important component of Sonic games which games such as Unleashed were lacking (though it got much better in Generations for example).  Even within a single level (the casino level for example) there's lots of different things you're doing.

Honestly my only gripe so far is the abundance of speed boosters, but because there's so much to do in the level and so much variety (and thanks to stuff like the parkour it's not exactly too hard to avoid the boosters anyway) I'm really not too fussed in the grand scheme of things.  I don't think they'll detract too much from the potential enjoyment of the game.

So yes, I'm fucking hyped.  This game continues to impress me.

Watching the level it looks quite cool. I like it. And that music (from what I could hear) sounds glorious.

I SURE WISH THE WII U GOT HERE ALREADY.

EDIT: FROZEN FACTORY RUNNING AT 60FPS AT 1080P

HOMG.

whats wrong with it?

The running controls look way too twitchy, there's so many boosters and spring sequences, the levels seem so flat (after accounting for relative gravity) and segmented...

So like every Sonic game showcased to newcomers pre-release in the last ten years?

"Panda lovin" made me laugh for some reason. Although I'm in the same boat as you are: I missed the stream and ran into footage of a figurine of that annoying cat from Alien. Hoping for a YouTube update; I really wanna see the Parkour play on that casino level.

Eh, poor choice of words from my end there. :P

My opinion on it is basically Diogenes'. It looks really flat and dedicated to chains of springs and boosters. Also incredibly twitchy. I want to like it more than I do, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself about it. Just hope that we missed massive chunks of the level and that there's more to it than that.

I can definitely see where you're coming from there sir, and I concur with all these points.  It would definitely be ideal if there were fewer boosters and springs and more curved geometry and the game would benefit a lot from these changes.  And yet at the same time I can't help but remain optimistic for this game.  There's just so much variety and I can't help but get the impression that this game is the kind of game that really rewards the player with genuine satisfaction when the mechanics are used creatively.  So far every level shown has you doing something completely different from the last and there's that massive level trope variety.  Yes we've only really seen 4 levels in action but I feel like we've only scratched the surface of the potential ideas that are going to be demonstrated in the final game.

Compare what we saw of say, Colours, to what we've seen of Lost World so far.  In Colours we saw Tropical Resort, Sweet Mountain and a little bit of Planet Wisp (iirc) and that was really it.  We saw a few Wisps and what they could do which was nice, but the other general gimmicks of the game were the same throughout the levels (although there was a fair bit of enemy variety).

But yeah this is all speculation and I can understand any concerns.  There's always reason to concern with the upcoming Sonic games.

*watches demo*.

Why do the trailers make this game look awesome. But the actual gameplay footage makes it look kinda bad? It's something about the way the camera is moving in relation to the character on screen, just constantly makes me feel dizy.

And all those boosters and springs, I thought we all hated that? But now it's ok?
