J-Stars Victory Versus

This is my first topic in the computer games section, so I apologize if Im not doing it correctly, if you feel it needs more meat or more content, then be sure to leave your feedback!!

 

 

Anyways...this is a topic for Namco Bandais Shonen Jump Game, for its 45th Anniversary.

 

This is a fighting game, where characters from series like DragonBall Z, Naruto Shippuden, Bleach, duke it out!!!  Its a 3D fighting game, behind-the-character view.  With close-combat moves, special attacks, unique "Acts" (Super Saiyan for Goku) and what seems to be a "Ultimate" move (Genkidama for Goku, Elephant Gattling Gun for Luffy) for the PS3 and PS Vita (no words on other consoles) sadly like Jump Ultimate Stars, theres a big chance this wont come to the US or Europe.

 

So far 10 characters have been revealed:  Son Goku (from DragonBall Z), Monkey D. Luffy (from One Piece), Toriko (Toriko), Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto Shippuden), Ichigo Kurosaki (BLEACH) , Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X) , Ryotsu (KochiKame), Gintoki (Gintama), Gon Freecs (Hunter X Hunter) and Yusuke (YuYu Hakusho)  as for Arenas, we have so far: Planet Namek (DBZ), Konoha Village (Naruto Shippuden), Vegetable Sky (Toriko) and Alabasta (One Piece)

Looks amazing but i can bet all my money that it isn't coming to North/South America or Europe.

 

Shame it isn't coming to 3ds/ds my cousin had the 2nd one and I played the hell out of it.(obviously imported)

My first reaction was basically, "OH MY GOD, A NEW PSVITA TITLE THAT IS WORTH FOLLOWING" when I heard the news.

I'll probably (eventually) get a PS3 or Vita for this. Note I say 'eventually' similar to how I only got a PSP last October.

 

I'll wait until I can pick one up for under £80 or so, ideally less. I'm clearly not in a hurry since I know it'll be many years before that happens.

 

But yeah, both my brother and I own Jump Ultimate Stars and played it quite a lot. I'm do glad Gintoki is in again.

I'm really intrigued by this game: being on PS3 means it can be imported and played nonetheless, so i have no excuse for not buying it.

Well I didnt expect this topic to have even 1 comment. Thanks for the comments! Glad to see Im not the only one looking forward to this!

I added the Yusuke and Gon scan and also another Gintoki and Ryotsu scan where he shows his Kamehameha XD Gotta love Gintoki!

 

Also while were at it, why not speculate a bit? I believe theres gonna be character types, They have particularly shown sets of characters after Goku / Toriko / Luffy / Naruto. Wich is Ichigo/Kenshin swordsmen and then Gintoki/Ryotsu wich are funny characters. Wich character are you looking forward to play the most?  Im loving Luffy and Ichigo so far, Luffy being so fast and versatile with long range-y attacks. Ichigo being a speed beast warping all around the place. And Goku because, well hes Goku!

 

Also what other characters do you think theyll show off? Im hoping for Tsuna from Reborn! Allen Walker from D.Grayman and Train Heartnet from Black Cat.

I dont think so... at least its not revealed yet. Gokus transformation isnt another form like in the JUS game. Its just an Act (Action I guess),  its stated that Luffys act is "stretching", Gokus is "transforming" so.. I think its possible we could see those forms, but probably as a final move or Acts.  I would love that though, so we could have Final Getsuga Ichigo / Kyuubi Chakra Mode , etc.

 

Also since I never watched Hunter X Hunter completely, 

 I didnt know that form of Gon, it looks so weird.. Cool but weird.

I've been waiting for a proper Shonen Jump Crossover game for the Consoles for awhile now.

 

Their was Battle Stadium D.O.N. but that only had Dragon Ball, One Piece and Naruto, this game is getting rep from a bunch of Shonen Jump Manga's.

Good point. Although Jump Ultimate stars had a lot of characters, but support ones, when talking playable, there werent TOO many. but yeah I expect less characters here. Id say about 20-ish, or more but who knows.

Sorry for the double post, but its been a while and editing wouldnt make you notice theres something new.

 

The 13th scan is up, and sadly it reveals nothing new (characters, screenshots, stages) however it has a ton of info. wich is in japanese so .... thats it.  If someone here is up for the job, then be my guest. It seems to have a lot of nice info.

 

 

Also the official website (wich needs to be seriously updated)  has an update with character bios, wich have cleaner screenshots.

I actually havent seen Beelzebub. Is it good? great? decent?  but yeah I dont see it as much of a stretch. Its quite possible.

For me, I would just want Tsuna, Allen Walker and Train Heartnet.

I can bet hes in xD Hes one of Jumps most famous franchises. He got representation in Jump Ultimate Stars too, so I think its almost a given for him to be included.

I think we have nothing to worry about. Im pretty sure those are just the regular moves, cause the strongest attacks / final moves / transformations will most likely be the newest.  Take Luffy for example:  In his basic attacks he has regular Gomu gomu attacks, (wich he rarely uses anymore) then he has Gear 2nd attacks. But when we see his strongest moves he has Elephant Gun and Elephant Gattling Gun wich are very recent attacks. (Also in a screen he seems to be taking the Red Hawk stance ) So I think we should all expect Sage mode / Kyuubi Chakra Mode for Naruto. And probably SSJ3 for Goku. (God Goku is probably too new and might not be used)   As for Ichigo, Im guessing his act will be putting his hollow mask, and final move will probably be Final Getsuga. (Although Id also like to have his full hollow form)

Since both JoJo's Bizzare Adventure and Fist of the North Star have gotten (and are getting) recent new games with a similar style, i think both Kenshiro and a JoJo character (most likely Jotaro Kujo) will be in the game. But it's just a personal theory for now.

Thats a good point. Those two are very likely to get in.

Sorry for breaking the rules so often with my double posts xD But I really enjoy adding new info, and how else can I let you know if the thread is in the 2nd page XD Anyways... a new scan is up, with clearer screens of Yusuke Urameshi and Gon Freecs, with what seems like a new stage. That and it seems you can break up objects in the stages. Neat! (click image for bigger, clearer image)

Ahh gosh! Youre totally right! I cant believe I didnt notice V-Jump comes out today (I think) so we might be seeing a new scan soon! ... or not.

 

EDIT: Dont get too excited but a new trailer (we should call it teaser) has appeared today! showing Yusuke and Gon, however its a bit disappointing, its just their intros, no gameplay footage at all. I guess the site wanted to get updated, we do get to see how they look clearly though!

And we do have news though! The game is going to be first playable at Tokyo Game Show 2013!!! so we should definitely see a demo and lots of gameplay vids ^^ stay tuned!
