Ready for some negativity?))

Here you go! I watched the trailer.

 - I expected no new CGI whatsoever so I was glad to see barely 1 second of new CGI footage. Doesn't mean anything as Generations had a LOT more  yet still there was no CGI intro/opening

 - The snow level while potentially being like fun to play, looks like Windy Hill recolor

 - Speaking of recolors. The mltiplayer with colored Sonics is bullshit. They friggin' have skating animation already, why not add Shadow instead of fucking red/green Sonic?!

 - Overall the trailer left a "meh" impression. The gameplay might be enjoyable )if only to an extent) but that's it. Sonic is still slow and the art direction is still not my cup of tea.

BTW if you're registered on Gamespot you can download HQ version of the trailer at 59.94 FPS! Looks nice.

The green platforms on Frozen Factory's snowball stage are like the Oil pump lifts from Sonic 2's Oil Ocean Zone :'D

- Generations had no CGI, it was all in-game graphics with animations you CAN replace and all. All the promotional ones were not in the game.

- I do have a feeling that I like this. I like weather changes and all so it could just be Windy Hill in the night, snowy. We have so many unique stuff here, so it's alright.

shadow would not fit in lost world. It was alright in Colours so it should prolly be alright here. Don't see why such a minute detail concerns you. I'd rather SEGA admit "yes, it's a skin" rather give us Shadow which has nothing different from Sonic besides the model.

- >Sonic is too slow

> you like 06 a lot

Well, it could be hard to get used to, and I can reason with you on this anyways but yeah, the parkour will make up for it!

also, are you forcing negativity at this point.

Like I said, it's some New Super Mario Bros shit.

The spotlight maybe, but the whole going through walls thing is a very Sonic trope.

I know. I was talking about promotional CGI. There as a lot more. also, generations had a CGI clock xD

It's faster than SLW))))). And mach speed sections deserved that name (never mind the execusion or controlls, I'm talking about speed here).

I am not forcing anything. You don't get tired from saying how hyped you are or how much you already love the game. I'm doing the same but with expressing my own opinion.

I'm currently watching the snowball madness level and aside from being shoked I have a phrase that constantly repeats itself in my ming: what. the. fuck. is. that. stupidity?. Seriously, this level is really bad. Like, REALLY. It looks boring, it's slow, heck, you don't even play as Sonic. It's a snowball with what appears to be bad controls. And what's even worse: Sonic DIES when beig hit in the snowball!!!

Did I mention that it also totally looks like Mario galaxy?

I noticed Sonic seems to sparkle now when he's near the capsule at the end of a zone, probably to indicate it's one that ends the level rather than just being one you found in middle of the zone. I don't think we've seen this in previous footage so I assume it's a new thing.

Also emblems with poinys appear. It's a Sonic 1 element.

Isn't it a semi throw back to Sonic 3 with the goal post juggling at the end? Also I think you score more points for jumping on the capsule from as far away as you can.

OH (I'm watching the video right now, almost at the end :P), and we briefly see at least one of Sonic's idle animations near the end of the video, at the beginning of the casino level. I love the idle animations in this series so that makes me happy 8U

I think we saw this briefly in past footage as well. I seem to recall a few people pointing it out in another topic a while back, anyway.

No. Don't you remember in Sonic 1, when jumping over the goal post grants extra points?

This game is looking really fun.

I like the red ring in 2D Windy Hill on the Jungle Zone type platform that just flies up with the platform and disappears forever offscreen. Fuck you completionists :P

Frozen Factory 1 looks absolutely stunning.  It does a great job meshing two unrelated tropes, and the lighting and whatnot looks sublime.  It has a very calm looking feel to it and the music further emphasizes that.  Then we have Silent Forest being the complete opposite with how incredibly batshit insane it is.  I could barely keep up with how much stuff is going on at the same time.

I adore how much variety this game has; it's shaping up to be the most unique game Sonic's had since CD.

It doesn't though, it comes back around.

Aside from the rather amusing dialogue, I'm not sure what exactly is here, that people find so spectacular. Looks OK, I guess, and I'm still not sold on the level design or the way Sonic moves.

Aw, I was hoping it would be another troll moment...

I'm not 100% on how it plays, but the sheer variety is pretty awesome and the snowball level looks surprisingly fun for a gimmick level. I feel like some of the platforming sections in the forest seem really overly precise to the point that it's a pace breaker, same with the spider killing sections, but hopefully they will be used sparingly. The 2D Windy Hill level looks really fun actually, and some parts of the casino level do too. This definitely seems like a more technical game, like how Colours felt technical, with a focus on scoring big points and seeming "minigames" and stuff. There are also a lot of alternate paths and gimmicks and shortcuts, which will really boost the replay value.

I will say it looks challenging and in a pretty fair way though, it just depends how the controls shape up to how reasonable it is. So far, it seems quite balanced, unlike say Unleashed's insta-death reaction shit or something. Honestly though, my main criticism is that they don't seem to be using the parkour that much at all, and I wish they would more, because running up walls and vaulting over obstacles looks fun as hell.

Since there's no way I'm gonna get a Wii-U for this one game, I hope the 3DS version shapes up too.

Anything to back that up? I guess, not.

Well, I got it!

And it's a regular level. Compare it to Silent Forest or any other tube level in SLW. Those constantly make you stop and even without that are quite slow-paced.

I like how I made several points and only the most personal and minor one found a reply. A sarcastic reply that got 10+ rep-ups.

They actually show off a different route of Windy Hill this time! Looks amazing!

Compared to Silent Forest?

Sonic 06 has never looked more forgettable.

I'll take slow "fun" platforming that I have control over rather than slow "boring" platforming that is mostly automated. You act like Sonic is not allowed to be slow or something.
