New York Sonic Team (a separate (though affiliated) group from Sonic New York) is going to be holding a meeting on Wednesday at the Maid Cafe at 2 PM. Besides recruiting for New York Sonic Team (they're a roleplay group), all Sonic fans are welcome to attend. One of the topics of discussion will be the Central Park Picnic in May.

Hello everyone!

I'm doing some information gathering for event organizers. One of the biggest hurdles to a convention is the amount of money... and this can be remedied simply by charging for tickets. In line with that, I've created a poll where all fans are welcome to cast a vote.

Please answer what you would pay for at the most, not necessarily what would be paid. This will help future organizers decide what price would avoid driving people away.

A disclaimer that Sonic Revolution is not planning to charge for tickets any time soon. However, for some organizers, charging is the only way to really get things done.

That banner is magnificent!

Venue is looking swell as well. :) I'm sure everyone will have a great time!

On my end, Casino Nights probably just landed a near perfect venue... I'll wait until I finalize the paperwork before giving any for-sure dates, though... tickets are still available via EventBee, though!

Hi everyone, just curious. A couple of years ago I attempted to start a Scotland Sonic meet but couldn't get the numbers. Since Meet ups are booming now, I thought maybe I could try again? Let me know if your interested!

Already answered in the statuses but yes, bloody hell yes. I've been having trouble making a plan for getting to SOS so this would be a nice alternative.

A Scotland meet up would be fantastic! Sadly I wouldn't be able to travel that far, but I'm sure there's plenty that would.

What sort of meet up were you planning? A general one at a bar/park etc? Or one with a set venue? Starting one up without a set venue I have found can be a little tricky. I've held several between Weston-Super-Mare and Bristol. The Weston one tends to have numbers of about 5-6 people turn up, whilst currently the Bristol (and our single cardiff one) have drawn just 2. Myself and fellow co-host! Although these sort of meet ups don't cost anything to set up, it is difficult to draw people to them.

A set venue is a bit of a gamble. You need to spend money for the venue, but you will be more likely to draw people to your event. I was not aware of any Sonic fans in the Weston area, so I gambled by setting a venue and putting the word out (Thanks to Ogilvie, the word spread to other sites) and we managed to pull off our first event successfully. We had over 50 people sign up for it. Sadly only half turned up, but this could also be put down to the flooding issues we were having in this part of the world at the time. Everyone had a fantastic time and were really keen on a second event. For our second event we've invested a lot more money and time advertising and we're attracting a lot more interest both from fans and from bigger names in the community.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you if you decide to try another meet up. We could use some more events further up north.

I understand SEGA Europe's community team isn't that active anymore as memory serves, but have you tried getting in touch with SEGA Europe? Now that you have a year of history and a few meetups under your belt, you could probably attract their interest. smile.png

Although our initial idea was to contact Sega Europe, we are currently keeping that on hold. Although we'd love to get them involved, we currently have secret reasons for not doing so. We're going to play it by ear for now.

We're also in the middle of arranging a merchandise seller and artists for the convention. At the Bristol Comic Expo we had a couple very interested in being a part of the event and we are just waiting for confirmation to add them to our list. We are still interested in anyone wanting to submit animations or even if there's any bands that want to play at the event. As per usual, all enquiries should be directed to our email at westonsupersonic@gmail.com

Weston Super Sonic would like to make an important and very exciting announcement! We can confirm we have our first two guests!

Richard Elson (STC Artist)

Nigel Kitching (STC Writer)

For those unfamiliar with the Sonic The Comic series back in the 90's and early 00's, Richard Elson was the main artist for STC and brought alive most of the major plot points in the series, as well as drawing a huge number of covers for the comics, even when the comics were reprinted. Nigel Kitching was one of the main writers in the STC series and worked often with Richard, writing some of the most epic stories in the series. The legendary pair have kindly agreed to join us for WSS 2015!

Good day SSMB’ers!

I mentioned it a bit ago but I’m finally going through with it. Ladies and Gentleman, Glasgow will have it’s first Sonic Meet up! I have called it “Sonic’s Glas-Goal Ring Meet”!

So, what do we know? Well I’d say the meet will happen in August, aiming for the 2nd at the moment. We’d probably be meeting in Glasgow, going to the Braehead X-scape, playing the games then getting something to eat when we can. Nothing too big but should be fun! It’s open for all ages. I may have some prizes for winners of games as well.

If anyone has any questions, shoot me a PM or talk to the Sonic’s Goal-Ring Meet Up page found here https://www.facebook.com/groups/SonicsGlasGoalRingMeet/

Keep an eye out for posts of the real details soon. Looking forward to meeting you all, let’s do it to it!

Guest Announcement!

For those who missed the Facebook announcement, we're delighted to announce we have another guest for our January meetup!

Mike Pollock!

Unfortunately costs and distance we cannot have our favourite Dr Eggman voice actor at the event itself, but he has kindly agreed to a live Skype chat with us on the day. He'll be answering a selection of fan submitted questions (which we will ask for closer to the date). We're super excited he has agreed to join us for the event, even if it's only through Skype.

We have lots more exciting news to announce over the next few weeks! We have another confirmed guest, as well as a look at something exciting that everyone will receive on the day! We hope you stay tuned!

Maybe bring your 3DS and Sonic Generations and you can try it! I'll hopefully have it to show soon.

Go here to join the event! https://www.facebook.com/events/1438090329790764/

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Oh Em Gee! SonicLondon is back!

As many of you will know I decided to step down as the group's President at the most recent meet in November. I just felt I'd been doing it too long (nearly 5 years), have grown away from the scene somewhat, plus wanted to concentrate on my new meet-up group StreetPass London.

After much back and fourth (and the group's near demise) SonicLondon has made a miraculous comeback thanks to ForeverSonic of RadioSEGA! Yes, ForeverSonic refused to let the group just disappear, and, hence, agreed to be its new leader. The fella recently announced the comeback SonicLondon meet, the details of which you can find here : https://www.facebook.com/events/1076009949093336/

Also, if you're not already a member of the group on Facebook please show your support by joining : https://www.facebook.com/groups/107060975984482/

As for me, well, I've found walking away from my baby a little harder than expected. As a result I'll be helping ForeverSonic out with the marketing of the group and events. He's my boss now, however, so he gets to tell me off if he sees fit XD. I'll also be taking a step back from the meets themselves, atleast until ForeverSonic establishes himself.

Having had luck with Mr. Webber on Sonic Boom news yesterday, I thought I'd poke another Sonic event to see if I could glean any information.

Sonic the Comic Con is not going to return this year, and there are no plans to bring it back at all for the foreseeable future.

It's saddening of course, but the event's huge success shows the sort of support for these sorts of things in the United Kingdom, and I can confidently say that even if Summer of Sonic was to never return at all, I think the fanbase will always come up with alternatives.

Well lo and behold, SonicLondon is back yet again. And so am I, to co-host alongside Simon!

The event will take place in Central London in June. It's happening in a beautiful parky spot somewhat reminiscent of the Aquatic Ruins Zone! SUCH a relaxing place...

It is completely free to attend, so be sure to come on down!
