Eh, Rouge is a character who exists in the series in my eyes. I don't hold that much of an opinion on her, but I kinda wish she sounded more like her age/her Dreamcast era voice (haven't played Generations in yonks, so I dunno if they've made her sound younger than her 40-year-old voice or not) and maybe her Heroes outfit should be an alternate outfit (like Wario in SSBB).

They changed her voice actor after Sonic 06. (I think.) Her new voice sounds WAAAAY better.

 But, so often all I see around her is how much can I flirt, or shake myself around to get anything that I want, and it just bugs me to no end. I've just never liked girls that use their looks to get things they want like that. That's why I go for personality over looks, because if you go for looks, you are likely to get rather shallow people that only care for themselves and what they can get by using those looks against people.

BESIDES the fan service because honestly? It was made to attract people in the early 2000s era since Sonic had to come back from Saturn's lack of Sonic and the ever growing of Videogames up to that point. It worked with alot of people, but the flip side, upsetted many others.

 

I actually do not mind her, when it came to games like Sonic X? She was quite interesting, but lately her voice is horrible... and some recent games, she didn't need to be in. Example...Generations? Surprised she was in that honestly.

She's one of my favorite characters in the Sonic series. I've always seen her as a cunning spy with a spunky personality. Not much else to say, but I've always found her charming, especially when paired with Lani Minella's voice. She's been the most consistent personality wise, and I appreciate her for that.

I like Rouge. She's probably my third favorite female character in the Sonic series. I always liked how she was a spy, worked for the government, and is a thief at the same time. She is one of the many characters that really isn't used at all in the Sonic stories anymore, which is sad because I would like to see her more (I am happy that she at least appeared at Sonic birthday party in Generations.) I could see the games involving her more to press Knuckles buttons, give out useful information that probably end up helping the heroes out, or just having her and the other members of Team Dark fighting against Team Heroes in a well action packed story.

Yeah, I doubt two almost blatantly stereotypical characters who're likely to be one-shots are gonna make two recurring character's who've been around longer obsolete.

I know she may have not done that much, but still, I just don't like that kind of girl is all or the vibe she gives off is all. I would much prefer Blaze over Rouge is all. Blaze just seems more my style over Rouge, who even though she doesn't do it much, she is much easier to use for those scenes where she could use her body to get what she wants. As much as some may not like this, it is just simply my opinion is all.

I like Rouge, I wish her design was somewhat tweaked (she looks Bald) but otherwise she's cool.

I dont mind Rouge, infact I think she is an interesting character, a jewel theif who is a government spy. She is one of the characters who has actually interacted with most of the cast.

 

What I would like to see with her? Id love for her to be a thief first and foremost, and then her, Shadow and Omega aren't really government/GUN agents, but more a last resort kinda group that GUN call in when nothing else has worked, Shadow is the sorta guy who id imagine would do anything to reach the goal, even break protocall/whatever, so i cant see him being an "official" agent. Rouge is definately skilled, but again someone I could imagine being ruthless when she has to be and Omaga is just a walking trigger happy munitions factory. So the would kinda be like a "special unit"(imagine the Golden Rhino units in JSR/JSRF they are all "extreme" and are called out when nothing else can stop you) but outside of that, in their main lives they have noting to do with GUN at all. Id love for them to expand on her theif/treasure hunter side aswell as, like i said, id perfer that to be her main characteristic, not the agent thing and although the government try to catch her, they dont really try TOO hard because of her help. Heck it would be a great plot point if maybe Team Dark get kicked out of GUN for being "too renegade" thanks to Shadows antics or sometihng and Rouge tries to vouch for him?

As of now, she's dead weight. She is a product of a time where Sega wanted to make sonic games more "real" by putting sonic in the same world that we live in and going for realistic graphics instead of stylized. Since she has had no reason to exist outside of sonic advetnture 2, she should be written off to make room for a better character that fits their current stylized, bright, and vibrant theme.

Rewriting any character or fixing them up is always better than dropping a character in my opinion. I may not like her too much, but I dont want her just gone either.

I think Rouge could be a very interesting character, if they'd ever actually make use of her. Unfortunately past SA2 (and...maybe Battle?) she kind of stopped doing anything besides being support for Shadow's story, and of course she hasn't been able to contribute much in the Sonic-only era.

She's the kind of character that doesn't need to fall straight in line with either good or evil. She's not fit to be an outright villain, in fact I'd say she tends towards good overall, but she's self-serving enough that she could be an occasional antagonist, especially since her love of jewels intersects nicely with the common "collect the chaos emeralds" plot element.

She could also work as an informant sort of character, someone who seems to show up knowing everything you need to know as soon as you know you need to know it...and someone who might require a small payment before she loosens her lips.

And as much as I can rag on Sonic Team for making her Shadow's cheerleader, I do think Team Dark could have some interesting dynamics. She's the most levelheaded of the three, so I see her being the de facto leader, trying to keep Shadow and Omega on track.

In any case I think she's got a lot to offer. She's clever, manipulative, physically skilled, and has access to all sorts of resources through GUN...it's a shame that Sonic Team never made much use of her, and that most fans only seem concerned with her breasts.

I don't like her very much but that's just because she has never done anything to make me like her as a character nor has she done anything cool/unique during gameplay. For example: in Sonic Adventure 2 she was a nerfed version of Knuckles and in Sonic Heroes she was a Tails clone.

Not everyone was a Team Sonic Clone. Every team had their differences, they just shared the same core style, like in S3:K. 

 

But Sonic/Shadow and Tails/Rouge had no differences whatsoever. Except for Sonic's Light Speed Attack and Shadow's Chaos Control.

Rouge can fill plenty of roles that Knuckles couldn't, and even if their gameplay was the same in one game that doesn't mean she can't be given something new.

Rouge is kind of just there to me. She's supposed to be this really flirtatious character but aside from SA2 and to a much lesser extent wanting Sonic's "big blue" in Generations, there really isn't much flirting and she can be kind of bland. I also don't find her that interesting when she just tags along with Shadow like in 06. The potential is clearly there and she was fairly cool in SA2, but I think they need to do more with her to make her have more of a lasting impact than "tits lolz" (and even the fanservice angle is just exaggerated by the fans as the games rarely, if ever, comment on it).

 

The scene where Knuckles "saves" her in SA2 after their battle and she gives an aside grin after trying to be all "angry" at him? We need more of that shit.
