"Didn't you guys already have a Facebook page?"

"Hahaha, Facebook! What a joke!"

As some of you may or may not know, there was once a notorious Facebook page called "The Sonic Stadium". This page, however, was not founded by, nor was it affiliated with, staff members of the ACTUAL Sonic Stadium. It was founded a few years back by someone unrelated to us who used the Stadium name without permission, and with our name and status behind it, it spiralled from there. This impeded on and caused us to scrap plans of starting a Facebook page of our own in the past to go along with our Twitter feed as a result.

It went off with unsourced fan art, contests that haven't gone anywhere, "Fan of the Week" posts that didn't last long, needlessly opening up admin positions on the page in a haphazard manner and letting just about anyone in charge, and overall gave the actual site a bad image due to overall unprofessionalism on this unaffiliated network.

With the founder gone due to a certain incident and a swathe of inactive "admins", MarcustheRocker of the SSMB (though not a staff member, he kept the page alive more or less on his own) and I got to work on a long overdue Spring cleaning! We've cleared the galleries, switched certain people in and others out, updated the page info, and so on, which means that...

We are pleased to announce that the Sonic Stadium Facebook page is now officially run by the one and only website itself! Writers Doctor MK, Hogfather, Shadzter, Swiss, T-Bird, and I, along with our lord and master Dreadknux, have joined the fray, with more of the cast to come!

With our newly gained Facebook page, those familiar with it will take note of a few changes, such as the following two!

1. Along with Stadium news shared, we will relay updates and differing content from our affiliates of The Sonic Stadium Network, namely:

-The Sonic Show, a Sonic entertainment channel run by Jay aka Discoponies and Tanner (Goodbye18000)!
-SEGASonic:Radio, TSS' online radio branch with a very talented team of DJs at the helm! Check out their shows and be sure to tune in!
-SEGADriven, your one-stop shop for any and all SEGA and retro news and info!

[be sure to throw a like each their way, give them all the support you can muster, and help the Network grow bigger than ever!]

2. Now that The Sonic Stadium and its staff are managing the page, we will no longer be accepting or hiring anyone else as "admins" as it did in the past. Sorry folks, but that ship has loooong since sailed! 
Unless the Stadium itself is in need of extra writers, we won't be needing extra help here! Hope you understand, and if not... well, sorry that you feel that way.

3. With TSS in charge, this now makes the page inbox one of many other ways to tip news our way! Breaking news? Hit us up through either Facebook, Twitter, our own inboxes, or as usual, right here at the SSMB!

Now that we have finally gained rather important ground online, this time through one of the most widely used social media sites, The Sonic Stadium has grown again! Is there anything else you'd like to see on the page following the change? Let us know!

 

So yes, at long last, The Sonic Stadium Facebook page is safe to like now! Go on, click that little Like button! You know you wanna~!

You could say that. XD But it's difficult to call it "taking over" since the previous tenants straight up abandoned the place or gave up on it.

Good work. That can be a pretty awkward problem to deal with. Luckily when Project M had a fan-page it was operated by someone who really liked us and gave us control over it without any hesitation. Glad to hear it's in the right hands now.
