Oh, please! I have no idea what criteria you follow but I can't find any single reason for SLoW robot looking better/more original/more badass/etc. than Egg Dragoon. Maybe you can give me some?smile.png

It's kind of hard to reason with one who blatantly pushes his viewpoints on aesthetics as facts that are "plain as night and day".

And I've yet to see anyone say it looks more badass. Probably because it's best not to always judge such from a leaked photo of all things for final judgement.

Why are we always so judgemental over a screenshot, people have already said this shit is boring, lame, underwhelming & other things when we dont even know how the boss will play out .-.

Seriously, we don't even know anything about how it moves, how it functions, how difficult it is, how much time it takes to complete, if it has any transformations or alterations, or what weapons it even has. We don't even have a millisecond of footage to judge it on, and even if we did its from the 3DS version which may or may not represent the Wii U version's boss.

Its amazing how fast we can shoot a concept down based on two images. Sure, the design might be a bit underwhelming compared to what we've had recently, but thats literally all you can make from those screenshots.

And even with it being underwhelming, it definitely doesn't look bad by any means. If I said it did, then I'm basically saying the Death Egg Robot and Samus Aran both look bad, and that's not true. :v

Guys lets stop the arguments please? We already had people saying this boss sucks anyways, so why repeat what they said anyways, besides, this is the 3DS version, not the HD one, we don't know how it will look like on the Wii U, and this IS DIMPS here, for all we know this isn't the final boss and once we collect the seven Emeralds we'll fight the Mother of all Zetis.

And just a thing, opinions are opinions, you can't simply say your opinion is the right one, or say someone else's is the wrong one, because it isn't, there's no right or wrong when it comes to opinion, there's just an awful lot of arguments that takes us nowhere.

Im not saying people shouldn't discuss, heck this is the reason the forum exists to begin with, Im just saying people need to stop trying to bash their opinions on the others, it won't happen, it isn't working and it leads us nowhere.

Criteria?

My criteria is "I just like it." It all falls to subjective design preference, and I don't feel I (or anyone else) should have to back that up with anything. But I'll try to explain why I prefer it anyway, for the sake of argument.

First things first. Make no mistake, I like the Egg Dragoon, and I think it's a very cool mech. This doesn't have to be a false dichotomy, where liking one equates to disliking the other.

But I like this one more. My reason is very simple- I feel this mech reflects Eggman's narcissism and ego in a humorous (while still somewhat imposing) manner. One of Eggman's defining character traits is the love he has for himself, and this mech demonstrates that love in a very showy, over-the-top way (the way Eggman likes to do everything). "Badass" isn't the only qualifier; Sometimes "charming" is a better quality to shoot for, especially with a humorous villain like Dr. Eggman.

Do I want all of Eggman's mechs to be themed after himself? Of course not, and I'm certainly for original designs and experimentation. But I welcome each iteration of Eggman's self-modeled robots, and neither want nor expect them to go away anytime soon.

Well put. sir.*golf clap*

It's also interesting that it's actually based off Classic Eggman, clear shout out to the Death Egg Robot.

I wonder if the Wii U Version has a boss rush mode or if its just Zone 1 then Eggman, man Idc as long as the 3DS version gets some type of zone to play in that fits along with the Boss Rush, like a chase or something.

That actually makes me wonder:

Since the Wii U version and the 3DS version are pretty close in terms of how they're structured, maybe the set up will be similar too?

Three regular acts of Lava Mountain, with two battles with the Deadly Six in each. The fourth zone would be the final boss, and whatever other shenanigans that we don't know about yet.

Speaking of that final boss image...looks pretty good. I did think that it was annoying at first to have another Eggman Robo after seeing one in Generations, but after another few seconds I grew to really like it's design.

Considering the amount of polish that this has for a 3DS model, this is just beautiful. It'll probably look better on it's big brother counterpart (assuming the Wii U uses this same mech) but this is shaping up to be a great looking final boss. If it ends up being the next Dark Gaia though, I will not be pleased.

I'll admit, the OP on 4chan did make me disappointed with this version at first, but meh. One man's opinion. I'll only take what it said about Grey Quake, the Special Stages, and the bosses with a shaker of salt. My own hands will judge it when I get to play it.

Could we please just stop with the forcing of opinions onto others. Can we just come to terms with the fact that some people can find more aesthetic appeal in things that others may not. Can we just agree to disagree instead of steering this into potential mudslinging territories? :)

A couple people are pretty down about what OP said, I could care less really.

Controls: He said the controls were shit when all around reviewers & people who played the game said they were great, shit even I played & they were fine, had to adjust myself. OP said that Sonic pretty much goes wherever he wants to go, psyche, he must have been smoking something..

Zones: One of the things I will agree with OP on, the zones. OP said the zones were really long, gorgeous & wide but he thinks they could have been a little shorter, the longer the better for me, keeps the faith going with multiple zone themes in the 3DS version too, especially the Casino, shit looks beautiful.

Bosses: OP said not to bad, I feel like there is gonna be a pretty big amount of similarities for the 3DS versions bosses but at the same time the bosses are going to have their own unique content, also I dont recall hearing anything about mini bosses for the 3DS version >.>

Wisp Powers: I didnt really catch alot of talk about wisp powers from you guys, I left kinda after the Final Boss got revealed & some of the casino screens, either way I feel like they look pretty amazing, Im kinda half & half on Quake though because Gyro Controls suck ass

Anyway back on topic, yea Im kinda wondering the same. I wonder if Lava Mountain 3DS is pretty much Zone 1 & then the boss fight. Zone 1 being we start off with some zone to mess around in & progress, then you meet up with Zazz & Zomom and face them, after beating them progressing into more zone to mess around with & have fun, then you battle Master Zik & Zeena, after them some more zone, using respective themes from there worlds like the Tropical Coast theme in the Lava Mountain, then you face off against Zor & Zavok & end the zone. After that you face off against Eggman like a boss & thats pretty much how I feel like Lava Mountain is gonna end off.

Why is it that whenever somebody who's played the game says they don't like it people feel the need to try and prove them wrong?

Nobody is saying that at all. What they ARE saying, is that one man's opinion shouldn't warrant everyone else's. So they will play the game themselves to find out how good or bad it is.

Okay, so, from what I can parse from the cutscene, Eggman's plan is to steal the planet's life energy to fuel his machines?

Eggman confirmed to be most based character.

Also,  that game over screen was excellent. Lovely nod to the classic games there.

Second Cutscene:

Eggman: Hey, fatso! Go crush that happy hedgehog!

Zomom: Eh, who are you calling fat?

Eggman: YOU! You see, if you hurry and finish with Sonic, I'll give you a giant sandwitch!

Zomom: OHH, Sandwitch!! Sandwitch!!

Eggman: Oy, blessed are the patient...

Give me another minute for the other one.

I don't speak, but I think I picked up the fact that Eggman his extracting the energy of the planet.

EDIT: ...yeah, I meant to say I don't speak spanish but what just "I don't speak"  is actually kinda true...
