Sonic killed the Zeti in final level

then Eggman came up, faked his death, escaped with jetpack

Final boss was the Nega Wisp, right down to the attacks and ending

Sonic and Tails go back to Earth, Sonic takes a nap.

I thought the ending was great. 

 

It had decent buildup, and - even if, from a gameplay standpoint, the boss was too easy - it was good to see Eggman come out on top and gain back control of his machine. Glad to see they kept up the tradition of an amusing post-credits Eggman scene too.

Well.....at least it wasn't as bad as Time Eater.

Though i think Sega has lost some luster with challenging bosses as of late. Generations was different because (outside of maybe two), most of the bosses were upgraded existing ones.
