The wisps are probably in to help make the gameplay more fun. Just think of them as power-ups that you can use to add a bit more "UMF" to your Lost World experience.

I feel the same way & besides, who wouldnt want to turn into a rocket, laser, astroid, eagle & more on their adventure through the Lost Hex =P? I can totally sense a Sonic Colors 2 coming out of nowhere explaining why the wisps were on the Lost Hex & their new struggle far in outer space with new wisps & Im gettin carried away ...

For those who don't want to watch the whole stream to see the final boss

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-Csj1L03Rw Here, someone else reached it, and since its clean and without lag, we can hear the entire final boss theme, which, I must say, Is fan-fucking-tastic, and makes me want to punch my wall ti'll it breaks.

Im following him too, hopefully by tomorrow he'll have reached Lava Mountain.

BTW, any update on Super Sonic? Im pretty sure that techno-Jingle-remix-thing of the main theme on one of the last trailers was the Super Sonic theme, so I'd like to see when someone unlocks him if it is actually his theme. And Im curious to how you unlock him, from what I've seen, the Red Rings only unlock the circus levels so you can collect more critters, but I could very well be wrong.

"The whole WORLD is in danger because I did something STUPID. Do you know how much THAT bites?"

This game has some good ass writing man.

While I don't care that much for the boss itself...

...that music. <3

I love it how he tries to threaten Zavok. You can just tell how prevalent and potent protective Sonic's big brother instincts are.

"If you touch one hair on his head..."

I haven't seen the scene in which Sonic supposedly exhibits realization at how alone he is or when he reunites with Tails. Can't wait though :3

Slowly making my way through the cutscenes and stuff. I am liking the writing so far.

Zazz: Are you disrespecting me?!

Sonic: Maybe.

I freaking, love the face Sonic makes at the line. Those little touches with the emotions really help add to the characters. The animation looks really good so far.

Eggman: "I will burn your worlds you rebellious scum! I will destroy everything you love and make you WATCH!

*Destroys frozen monitor transmission with his BARE HANDS*

Orbot: "Boss, your hands..."

Eggman: "As long as I can still strangle a Zeti, my hands are fine."

The cutscene that plays as soon as this part of the livestream starts depicts Eggman in the most serious fashion that I've seen him be in YEARS. Seriously, I've been loving how the MadWorld/Happy Tree Friends writers have been handling his dialogue since Colors, but Lost World just takes Pollock's performance to new heights in terms of tone between both humor and seriousness being balanced in regular doses. Not to mention the dynamic that the between Sonic, Tails, and Eggman is just genius. I absolutely love Lost World's story, despite a couple nitpicks I could consider here and there.

It really bothers me how this game doesn't want to explain anything. I know that I brought it up before, but I dunno if people actually acknowledged what I was saying (since, rightfully, they were talking about how the dialogue and interactions were pretty great).

It's mostly annoying me since theres no explanation as to why people know of the Lost Hex, the backstory (or motive) of the Deadly Six, why theres all these weird places everywhere on the planet like the casino and dessert ruins (one of the characters could've at least acknowledged that they were there), in fact they usually don't even give a visual aid as to how Sonic gets from spot to spot in the game other than "poof he's there".

In fact, why does Zazz have this random moon-head thing? Why does Zomom have a massive 8-bit Zeti-ish head he flies on? Why didn't they give any sort of explanation for them, and since they decided not to, why were they even there?

They don't give the Deadly Six any closure (they just die), there's no sort of buildup or feeling of a "big" moment from the endgame, no big final resolution to make it feel like you achieved something important, nothing.

Everything just seems really disconnected and there for the sake of being there, and as much as I love the character interactions and the way they drove the main plot, the lack of anything to make it make sense or be cohesive just rubs me the wrong way.

I probably have WAY too much time on my hands, but I came up with this while I was watching the stream: some of the themes for the worlds or from the stages are like a nod to the Deadly Six themselves. For instance, Zazz has that random moon-head thingy and in his bio, it says he himself can be random.  Zomom loves eating and is a glutton: entire stage dedicated to food (Act 3), with Act 2 having honey combs and honey splattering the screen. Zor is the spy/stealthy, Act 2 is stealth stage...I dunno, that sort of thing.

I agree with the rest of what you said though.

And right before he says that, he actually says ''IM GOING TO GET FAT FROM EATING YOUR BLACK HEARTS, YOU EGGMAN WANNABES'', It was so out of nowhere that even Sonic and Tails got surprised with it.

i know everyone has complained about it already, but now that i've seen the final boss fight, uggggggggggh asdfghjkl i honestly think i can come up with five ways to make that boss more interesting on the spot

1. use the lava setting to attack sonic. absorb some lava on the ground and start shooting lava fireballs at sonic. or alternatively just start pouring them all over the ground sonic's running on. maybe have it in "sections" so that sonic has to dodge them, or just light the entire platform on fire with them so sonic has to jump and start wall-running or homing attack floating rocks or something.

2. use the rocks from the mountain. it is a mountain, right? shoot the rocks so it starts falling on the platform, have sonic dodge them and have them come in various sizes. even better, use the rocks to start decking giant segments of the platform with lava. forcing sonic to do some parkour running around the walls. maybe allow sonic to use the chunks of rock to his advantage, have him perform the homing attack onto the rocks into the egg mech

3. have the battle take place outside the mountain area. have eggman bust a giant hole out of the mountain/cave/whatever, and have sonic try to parkour up/down the mountainside to reach eggman or move to safer ground. either do a on-rails perspective like the boss fight or switch it to a temporary 2D perspective. have eggman shoot all sorts of projectiles against you as you move, or even get some badniks/egg pawns to help him out.

4. have eggman have some attack methods based on the deadly six, except on a much higher difficulty spike. have eggman use the mech to try and smash sonic with a ball like zazz's boss, except have it on fire and allow it to break apart into several smaller pieces that bounce around. or take a page from zomom's boss and have sonic skydiving to the end of a "lava"fall down to a platform or something. prior to freefall, have the platform "break" prior to the "lava"fall and have sonic jump off. during freefall, have eggman shoot projectiles at sonic, whether it be those laser projectiles or rocks or lava. to shake things up from the original boss, have the path get harder for sonic to navigate-like get to a point where the skydiving section is constrained to a hole that has lava pouring from all sides.

5. pull a retraux attack method-by that i mean use a boss battle/fight technique from the older games. sonic and knuckles's lava reef zone had what, a giant hand that tried to crush sonic and a mech that retreated under the magma/lava? have the mech suddenly deploy a floating hand (or just have one rise up from the lava) that tries to crush sonic, either by flattening him or "punching" him a la master/crazy hand. maybe have sonic use the hand to work against eggy by homing attacking itinto the walls, causing rocks to fall on eggy's mech or have it malfunction and cause it to fly and eggy's mech and "punch" it or something.

these ideas aren't all that original or unique, but i think they would had given the boss battle something more fulfilling/exciting. /unnecessaryrantover:U

One thing I forgot to say about the VAs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nf3rsXDDojI

Around six minutes, that cutscene... EVERYTHING ABOUT IT! Look at how Sonic's voice BREAKS while he screams ''TAILS NO'', the way Tails sounds desperate when trying to warn Sonic, Eggman's tone while saying that Tails acted for the greater good, Hell, you can feel Sonic's frustration with the Six right after the capsule disappears, the VAs made a brilliant job here.

First you just need to attack him and dodge his attacks, once you follow him to the last part of the dragon you two are on top of, the head, you must break his shielding stance with a kick, and then stay on the ground while the homing attack aim starts to to flash a little, once it starts flashing a LOT, you hit him with the HA, then you'll throw him far away, repeat this until you throw him out of the dragon.
