Wasn't it confirmed that the game would be delayed? And that the new launch date is October's 29th?

I think so. I'm reading this news like everywhere.

And all of the US online retailer I visited are dating this for 29th October.

So Zavok is a conqueror huh? Interesting, nice to know there's someone beside Eggman with some ambition for power.

So I've noticed a bit of a pattern with some of the stages. Each of the main 6 seem to have a somewhat consistent pattern for their stage line-up:

Act 1 - Main Stage that's guaranteed to be mostly 3D
Act 2 - Stage with a gimmick referencing the Boss Battle

Act 3 - Theme Stage

Act 4 - 2D & 3D Stage

So looking at all of the clips and stuff, the stages seem like they'll be something like:

Windy Hill

Act 1 - Main Stage we've seen a million times

Act 2 - Sunset to Night Gimmick to introduce Zazz

Act 3 - Cave Theme

Act 4 - 2D & 3D stage

Desert Ruins

Act 1 - Main run to the tower

Act 2 - Falling/Mach Speed to reference Zomom's Green Head freefall fight

Act 3 - Candy Theme

Act 4 - 2D Tornado Run

Frozen Factory

Act 1 - Gear/Turbine Main Stage

Act 2 - Snow Monkey Ball to reference Zeena's Snowman mech

Act 3 - Casino Theme

Act 4 - 2D Stage that goes into the actual factory (Think I saw a 3D segment to go with it)

Tropical Coast

Act 1 - That one stage demoed at TGS

Act 2 - Fruit Stage referencing Master Zik's Fruit Battle

Act 3 - Underwater Grinding Mine/Factory Theme

Act 4 - 2D Stage, possibly where that one image with the weird fish came from

Silent Forest

Act 1 - Main Crocodile Swamp stage

Act 2 - Metal Owl Solid: Hedgehog Eater to reference Zor's Owl mech

Act 3 - Ice Cave Theme

Act 4 - 2D Ruins stage, both exterior daytime region, and underground dark region

Sky Road

Act 1 - Windy Hill themed area

Act 2 - Silent Forest Area full of Dragon Heads referencing Zavok's Dragon Mech

Act 3 - Flying Themed stage in a Tropical Coastish area

Act 4 - 2D/3D Desert Ruins themed stage with storm clouds

Volcano Mountain

Not really sure what to say here, since this one sorta looks like it could be just one big level in an Eggmanlandish sense. Starting off in that watery/crystal grind area, he'd end up getting thrown into the cannon filled lava area where he'd approach and eventually enter the main factory. Though I guess if I were to divide them up into levels based on the clips it'd be something like:

Act 1 - The Grinding area

Act 2 - Cannon filled lava area

Act 3 - Factory Invasion

and then Act 4 could just be the game's final boss or at least the boss of the region, though I could probably be wrong (just like with most all of this stuff)

Damn, This really looking good! Well, for the Wii U anyway, but 3DS is awesome too... only if we got more footage...

Most likely a typo. There's no way there would be such a wide gap in release. Right?

...right?

S'gotta be a typo. It still makes no sense why there's a delay on the American version whenever the European version has many more languages than English and is getting released so much sooner than the US release.

Nobody is safe from SEGA's wrath.

Never forget.

Thank You, Sega Europe!

I'd die a little on the inside if this version didn't have Lava Mountain. It looks and sounds too damn epic.

And ain't this soundtrack somethin' guys?! Seriously, I am in love right now. Especially with Lava Mountain.

Hmmm, I can possibly live without having Lava Mountain. Then again it would be odd if the 3DS has a map and we see that mountain. Maybe the final boss takes place on Lava Mountain.

am i the only one who thinks lava mountain's music sounds kinda generic

Hopefully. I think it distinguishes itself enough to really stand out.  EG, Not heavily using guitars. Most lava levels I've seen heavily use guitar, so it's a least different in that respect.

Now if Jun showed up for one or two tracks in this level, that would be a lot more up his alley.

He's on the underside of the tube, only the tube isn't there because apparently gravity is just some intangible force at the center of an object instead of the object itself

I like that bit, though. If your meter runs out before you get another wisp then you fall and die. It could do with a lot more objects imo, but oh well

In addition, we have footage of the Hover and Bomb Wisps. Credit to the SSMBer "Sonic CD" for bringing this to attention, albeit in the wrong thread.

So, ladies and gentlemen... what are your thoughts on this?

COUNTRY MUSIC! O3O

Also, Checking through past posts, There's alot of footage to download ._.

Edit: Done (Made all of the SLW uploads into a playlist, but the 15 uploads i was talking about should be in this)

Shall I put them as public? It may be risky

Disappointed by Lava Mountain's (genius name btw) visuals. The lava itself looks noticably worse than the lava in Generations' Crisis City. I loved the way the texturing looked for the lava in that game. Even if you were to say that that type of fairly detailed lava wouldn't suit this particular artistic direction, I'd go as far as saying that the lava looks worse than the lava in either Mario Galaxy games. Its completely static with really flat colouring.

A real shame, because most everything else in the level looks quite good. The rocks and other stuff look great for example. A shame....

Level design....well, I ain't seen enough. But I have seen enough to know that not much has changed in the design philosophy aside from the fact that everything is rolled up into tubes. Mostly completely flat, with a fuckton of speedboosters. Every single little clip, contained chains of springs and speed boosters.....which again is disappointing, because I would expect that the new control scheme would at least mean that they'd tone things down with the artificial propulsion, and rely more on Sonic's own natural manoeuvrability. What is the point of "Focusing on control", when you still use an unecessary quantity of boosters to push the player down the right track.

Rails are effectively the same as they have been since Unleashed, which is another HUGE disappointment. Its still just lane-switching. It doesn't look like you're given any extra control like you were in SA2 with balance and stuff. Rails are just lined up parallel to each other, and you just need to switch rails when an obstacle appears.

Music.....Meh so far. Don't know if the trailers have in-game music, or just generic stuff added which fits what's going on, but its not been as memorable or engaging to listen to as Windy Hill or Desert Ruins so far. They aren't catchy beats like Sonic music of old , but at the same time, they don't offer anything to enhance atmosphere.

Carrying over from the main thread:

But Lava Mountain is already the seventh zone. There are six members of the Deadly Six so who will Sonic fight in Lava Mountain...Eggman? If there is an eighth zone then who will he fight at the end of that?

Well, personally, I'm hoping for a boss rush of sorts with all of the Deadly Six in Lava Mountain, with the actual final boss battle taking place in the "eighth zone," if there is one.

Good.  Rail sections in SA2 were terrible and the cause of many a cheap death.

Tech savvy skills...?

1. Go to the website

2. Click to watch video

3. Video play

4. Right click, then choose "Copy video URL at current time"

5. Put that link into the address bar, then you get the unlisted videos. :V

Edit - Tech savvy skills part was more of a real question, not sarcasm. Just clearing that bit up, XD.

There is more. There's gameplay of all the Wii U wisps individually, along with gameplay of all the Wii U stages individually. There is gameplay showing off Parkour, Combat, and Classic moves (Spin Dash, Run, Grind, etc.)

So if someone happened to upload the videos, it's safe to put it on public? I need to know this

They're probably OK. Many people have already uploaded the snipets of gameplay and the moves from the site already, so  you'd just be moving with the current.

Besides: these videos are from the official site right? Anything they put  from the official site is fair game mate.

It sounds like it came from All-Stars Racing Transformed.

I think at this point this game may not be for you upon release, since you don't seem to be convinced of it's presentation.

However, i highly disagree with your point on Rail Grinding with SA2. It was pretty terrible in that game, and as Radrappy said, it amounted to getting cheap deaths when trying to switch between rails. Plus i like the music the game has to offer so far.
