Sonic Lost World Glitches/Bugs. "Well, that wasn't supposed to happen!"

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

So I've encountered my first few glitches with both versions of the game. The first was on Desert Ruins 2 on the 3DS version where, after coming out of a loop backwards, I fell off the stage through the edge of the screen. Then on the Wii U version I get to Tropical Coast '?' and jump in the canon. This happened:

I've also had one of the sandworms attempt to attack me, only to then fly off in to the sky! Funny, but very odd. Have you encountered any bugs/glitches on your playthroughs so far?

I had a pretty annoying one.  During the first boss of Sky Road (Zavok on his snake), after scoring the last hit, Zavok just disappeared.  The snake remained immobile and I could continue homing attacking it's chain spots, but Zavok just vanished.  It's a good thing the snake was still firing lasers to kill me or I'd have had to have started the whole stage over.  This happened on my first play too so for ages I wasn't sure if it was a glitch and I was meant to be doing something to the snake.

This JUST happened. I was going through Frozen Factory 3, got to the first slot machine, when all of a sudden the level turned into this flashing screen of rainbow shit.

Did the TV snort cocaine and am I seeing what it's seeing?!

Ah! This happened to me too. TWICE! First time I thought it was a glitch, so I killed Sonic. Second time, I thought I must be doing something wrong and ended up getting a time over. On the third time, Zavok fell to the ground and the end of level cutscene started. On the other two times he flew into the air.

Really nasty glitch, that. And it's clearly not an isolated incident if I had it twice and you experienced it too.

Another glitch, in Sky Road 1 this time. Right at the start of the stage there's some giant steps to climb. Sonic won't free run up them no matter what. He just sort of flails around in front of them.

As a general thing, Sonic absoloutely loves to run up tiny little portions of wall and get stuck in the corner for a moment on Sky Road Act 4.  Especially when you're trying to hop onto a moving platform below and if you don't drop down in the next second you are gonna die.  *thumbs up*

ah, so I'm not the only one who experienced this. I used the bounce attack on a bumper and suddenly the screen turned white

At least these glitches are fun & funny to look at, unlike Sonic 06 where Silver could launch you through the sky for a solid 10 years later..

I got crushed by a bumper in the casino zone whether it was intentional or I got hit by the lazers instead

There's a very minor glitch on the map screen. If you walk to one of the areas with a weather effect (Frozen Factory, Silent Forest, Lava Mountain) and then teleport to another one of those areas, the weather effect won't change or will stop completely. For example, if you stand in FF and then teleport to SF, it'll be snowing on the SF map. Everything reverts to normal once you start moving again. I don't think you can get LMs fire to show up in another area, but will stop the weather effect.

Alright, is any one here getting game freezes when they press "Retry" on Time Attack? It happened to me like 9 times, 2 now just back to back.

I tried to homing attack the giant spring in Sky Road Zone 4 only for Sonic to get stuck in a corner or something. The spring keeps bouncing him, but he's just curled up, attached to the wall by his knees or something.

edit: okay wait no he's not curled up any more. I think he's in his backflip animation now. His feet are just stuck to the wall. Whenever the spring bounces him he rotates about 45 degrees before going back to his original position., like he's rotating on a hinge or something. His pose keeps changing. I think his animation is actually playing frame-by-frame in between bounced or something. I seriously wish I had some way to record this haha

So I'm fighting against Zavok in Sky Road Zone 4 and I'm running out of Rings and Lives. I decide to use a Thunder Shield to keep myself from dying if I mess up the attack chain.

After getting him into the last part of the dragon I try to go in for the kill and knock him off, but instead Sonic goes run through him and falls off the screen into the bottomless pit.

When I was fighting Zavok for the first time, I fell off his robots and got stuck on one of the joints in the falling animation. I couldn't get out, and as a result, was forced to take damage.

A similar glitch occurred in Silent Forest 4. I got stuck in the falling animation on one of the rotating platforms.

Speaking of which

Something similar happened to me in the same section. I was directly underneath the spring, using my homing attack and got stuck under there. Don't remember how I got out of it, but I haven't gotten it again.

Only other glitch I can think of was I was playing Frozen Factory 3, hit a bumper in one of those damn pinball tables and my screen slowly started to fade to white. The music still played and I could access the pause screen to quit, but for the life of me I don't know how that happens or why. I didn't get it again when I retried the section but after collecting the Red Star Rings, I've stayed as far away as I can from that particular level (and not because of that single instance of an odd glitch).

Ugh, that happened to me too.

On the 3DS Version, I was playing through Frozen Factory act 3 and I was at the part where you're on a planet and you to have press all the switches and then suddenly when I hit the first switch, the camera just locked up.

Luckily, I got the camera to start working again without restarting the stage.

Here’s a handful of glitches I’ve encountered, all for the Wii U version.

So I rescued enough animals to upgrade all of my RCs to the highest level… except one. My third stealth jet remains at 3 stars and won’t level up any more. Unfortunately, I didn’t see how it happened because I wasn’t paying much attention at the time. I’m hoping there’s a way to fix it, but I‘m not that worried about it right now.

When playing Time Attack, if you pause and select retry while a color power is active, the gamepad will still show what is on-screen instead of showing your progress in the level like it usually does. The only side effect is that the homing attack’s lock-on cursor won’t show on the gamepad, otherwise it’s perfectly playable. This stays in effect until you use another wisp and have it end normally or exit the level; even if you lose a life or restart the level again, it will still remain this way. This works with all wisps except the black wisp due to it not being usable during Time Attack.

If you touch the side of the thwomp-like thing next to the first checkpoint in Silent Forest Zone 4 even while it‘s on the ground, it still counts as being crushed and you will lose a life.

Sometimes, when I’m grinding lives in Desert Ruins Zone 2, Sonic will respawn in a strange, non mach speed state but he’ll still be pushed forward. It seems to be caused by holding right (I’m assuming left works too) on the left stick while he’s coming out of the flower. Jumping fixes it, but it’s still kind of weird.

Here’s another one in Desert Ruins Zone 2: When homing attacking the bees near the three 1-ups in the level, (not the four near the end) Sonic will just… die. It’s kind of unexplainable. I think it’s caused by attacking too early while the bees are spawning, but I’m not entirely sure. It’s not very common, but it once happened to me two times in a row.

You can glitch inside the large bumpers in the 3D sections of Frozen Factory Zone 3 by bounce attacking them after jumping on top of one. It’s a fun, although useless, glitch.

Hopefully I didn’t make this game sound as glitchy as 06, these are just the ones I felt like pointing out.

Not so much a glitch or bug, but the homing attack lock-on works in very weird ways.

Every time I've been playing the 3DS version of Frozen Factory 1 you get to a bit where three springs bounce you slightly to a caterkiller. After wind kicking it, the lock-on sometimes won't work, even when stood next to the thing. Then the next time you wind kick it, after homing attacking the weak spot you'll home straight back to the springs even though you've already used them.

Same thing happens on similar sections, or when you try to miss the first of a line of enemies to attack the second, even if that enemy is a bit of a distance away.

You have to get as far away from things in order to keep sonic from homing back to something or wait a couple of seconds cause this can actually kill you at points if you don't get it to lock on correctly.
