The UK government is so bad, so awful that it defies coherence. From pathetic education policy, attacking the disabled on welfare and cutting public services to complaining about a lack of money whilst making it easier for the rich to evade tax. The UK is the biggest tax haven in Europe and a world leader in horrendous libel laws. So much corruption, back-patting and obfuscation exists that it makes it extremely hard to pin down individual things and people to focus on. I guess that's the way most governments operate, you could hear the same shit from anyone in any country. All the same, they're utter bastards and it makes me sick.

I have no sympathy for them. Sorry but what this company does is horrible and our government should not be funding them and using them to piss in the face of the disabled.

I guess it's not the workers' fault; they're just trying to earn a living like everyone else but I agree. Atos is an awful, awful company and never should have been put in charge of the contract. Heck, there shouldn't even be a contract, this should be under the control of the government... at least IMO. But like this awful excuse for a government is going to want to actually take care of people(!) Makes me so mad.

Mambo, ATOS got 1.4 Billion pounds last year why isn't that being use to fund its workforce? Who get a lot more than most people and they work in more morally establish office positions. ATOS should be sacked by the Government. But they are not going to do that when they get funded and supported by them along with Wonga.

Bollocks some may do but not everyone.

Hi Cameron are your listening? There is NOTHING out there! You and the last Government sold a lot of the jobs people aspire to abroad. There is NOTHING! It doesn't help morale when people are paid peanuts with the transport and utilities prices going up.

This idiot is out of touch along with most of Parliament where most of them are private educated snooty pricks from affluent backgrounds. We are plebs to them. I think its amusing that even a Thatcherite prime minister is saying they are out of touch and Cameron has tried to twist what he said. I am no big fan of John Major but he has been giving Cameron a right good kicking these last few weeks.

Wasn't sure whether to post this in here or the porn ban thread.

http://metro.co.uk/2013/11/17/rape-porn-possession-to-be-punished-by-three-years-in-jail-david-cameron-to-announce-4189512/

Anyone caught possessing pornography which depicts rape could be jailed for three years under new government plans.

It is against the law to publish images of rape but a legal loophole means possession of the material is currently unpunishable.

The changes to the law, which will be introduced in January, will bring England and Wales in line with Scotland, where the offence carries a maximum sentence of three years in jail.

Mr Cameron is targeting websites which show videos and images of rape – whether they claim they are ‘simulated’ or not.

The prime minister has previously attacked websites which show the material, saying: ‘These images normalise sexual violence against women – and they are quite simply poisonous to the young people who see them.’

In a further crackdown on what Mr Cameron referred to as ‘the darkest corners of the internet’, Downing Street will tomorrow announce that a national database will be created to give every illegal image a label.

The move is designed to make it easier to have the material removed from the internet.

So it's about to become illegal, punishable by three years in prison, to be in possession of "Rape porn".

Now, I'm totally behind this when it comes to depictions of actual rape. The problem here is that it will extent to videos of simulated rape. Depending on what article you read, this will also extend out into fetish pornography and stuff like BDSM.
Never mind that rape and forced sex fantasies are perfectly normal, surprisingly common and shared by both men and women. Never mind that there's no proof whatsoever that having these fantasies leads anyone to committing the act in real life. Never mind that the videos and images will be of consenting adults engaging in a fantasy. A fiction. If you're in possession of these images, David Cameron thinks you're a monster and you deserve to go to jail.

Now, I personally have no such fantasies. But I also realise that having doesn't mean a damn thing. Whether or not you're interested in rape porn or fetish porn, this effects you.
This is a punishment for engaging in a fantasy. It's a fucking thought crime.
I'm starting to get pretty scared about all the novels I have in my house.

The penny pinching and hoarding gits are at it again.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/ministers-unveil-900m-student-loan-sale-173418133--finance.html

So basically this means private companies have your debt if you were at University during the 1990's. Is means they can exploit you at a later date when needed especially if you are vulnerable this is really bad news.

Its horrible selling off their responsibility and its all right for these Ministers for them they got all their education for free.

Things seems to being made privatised left, right and centre.

I'm curious how does this affect the way student loans are payed back over there since it's different from the US system? I know you don't have to start repayment until you start making a certain amount per year and that it gets written off after a certain amount of time.

Paul Goggins (Wythenshawe and Sale East) (Lab): Two weeks ago, the head of the Security Service warned about the extent of Islamist extremism. This week, two individuals have been charged with serious terrorist offences. What is the Prime Minister going to do in January when, as a result of his Government’s legislation, some of those whom the Home Secretary has judged to pose the greatest threat to our security are released from the provisions of their terrorism prevention and investigation measures?

The Prime Minister: We have put in place some of the toughest controls that one can possibly have within a democratic Government, and the TPIMs are obviously one part of that. We have had repeated meetings of the extremism task force—it met again yesterday—setting out a whole series of steps that we will take to counter the extremist narrative, including by blocking online sites. Now that I have the opportunity, let me praise Facebook for yesterday reversing the decision it took about the showing of beheading videos online. We will take all these steps and many more to keep our country safe.

Are you fucking serious, Cameron?

After saying that people are too stupid to get ahead in life. Well Boris you have clearly proved other wise.

Is anyone really surprised as amusing and quirky as he is sometimes. He does come out with some really moronic shite sometimes.

Merry Christmas plebs thanks for the pay rise.

Yep. Transportation going up, bills up, living standards going down, public sector capped and these wankers get a 11% pay rise.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/mps-39-one-off-39-9-26-pay-100534824.html

They insist it won't cost the taxpayers "a penny more" and this will be the last big one off pay raise they will get and next one will be in line with average earnings.

Yeah I am really buying that.

Even then they'll get their earnings else where. What they say and actually feel on the matter privately are two different things.

It doesn't seem right that these clowns (many of whom are wealthy and don't really need it) get a pay rise, while other public servants are being asked to tighten their belts.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/osborne-more-cuts-needed-2014-042306524.html

George Osborne is calling for more cuts targeting Welfare. He says we need to save 25 billion pounds.

Yet he and his government want to build a high speed rail link for 50 billion which will save commuters only 15 minutes off their journey. Where are their priorities?

Maybe Mr. Osborne should do what many of the public do and take out a Wonga loan.

In other news Michael Gove has criticized Blackadder as Leftist Propaganda. Pissing off Sir Tony Robinson who played Bladrick and is also well know for presenting the Channel 4 archaeological show Time Team.

Michael Gove is an idiot and completely ignorant of History. You don't have to be Left Wing to realize what a clusterfuck World War I was which like some idiots would have you believe was caused entirely by the German Empire. But actually was a series of consequences that led to a global war on a Industrial scale. Blaming it solely on the Germans is one of the factors in what led to World War II.

Jobless must sign on every day: Government to dock money from long-term unemployed if they do not comply

iwHY8g0.jpg

Harsh rules to drive the long-term unemployed into work come into force today, which state they will only receive their benefits if they either show up at a jobcentre every day or commit to six months of voluntary work.

Those who fail to comply with the rules, which also offer signing up to a training scheme as a third option, will have their jobseeker’s allowance docked for four weeks for the first offence, and 13 weeks for the second.

So the laws that were mentioned a few months back are finally now in effect. Why won't they realise that there are no jobs to go around? Making people go down each day is not only both a hindrance on staff but on the unemployed too.

People on JSA barely have enough to survive as it is so expecting them to find the money for 4 more days of travel is unbelievable, I cannot believe that they are doing this.

My local Job Centre can barely cope with people signing on once a fortnight. I imagine that if people on the dole are expected to sign on daily, the place would go into meltdown. When I was on the dole, I waited anywhere between 30-60 minutes to be seen by advisor. This was when the place was mostly empty.

So now, instead of spending time looking for work, doleys are expected to spend a not-insignificant number of hours each day waiting around not looking for a job. What exactly is this intended to achieve?

This is just a manifestation of the conservative belief that if you aren't employed, you're a lazy do-nothing workshy slacker who just wants to leech off the state.

What, are they on bail from prison or something?

The unemployed are treated like criminals, yes. This is absolutely ridiculous. People don't have time for this; both job seekers and centre staff. What will the government say when it's falling apart? Oh, it's inefficient, we'll have to intervene! Just like the NHS; make a service unable to do its job, call it out, close it down. It disgusts me how they re doing this, and will no doubt continue to make life horrendous for the less fortunate.

I would also add their forcing people into volunteer work annoys me too; volunteer work is valuable, but only to those who actually want to pledge their time. Forcing the unemployed to do it is wrong as it undermines the point of it, and that these people need work for a living wage! Shoehorning them into volunteer placement puts unnecessary pressure on charities, filling them with people who don't want to be there. It's shocking how much the government seems to thing others will solve these problems for them, whilst actually hindering genuine movements to help people.

Adding on to what Mambo said there's a quote in the article which talks about the hours of the voluntary work.

"The charities have noted that the maximum community service order that someone might receive if they were found guilty of drink-driving or assault is 300 hours, but claimants on six-month workfare schemes will have to work without pay for more than double this time."

It's all part of the rich elite's plan to turn the world into a multi-billion slave labor camp, while they put themselves as the universal aristocracy. /conspiracy.
