How does the Sonic fanbase feel about Sonic Heroes?

I had to get Heroes when I was younger. Cried in the store until I got it, and I loved it quite a lot, but as I got older the game became...ok/decent. I still play it every now and then, but it certainly wouldn't hold the title of "favorite 3D Sonic game" for me. My favorite 3D Sonic game would have to be Sonic Generations, with Lost World and Colors right behind it. 

 

I remember being really happy playing Sonic Heroes, too, but once you finish Super Hard Mode, there isn't much to do after. At least Sonic Adventure 2 had the Chao Garden, Kart and the 2 player mode which was definitely much better than Heroes. I remember I couldn't choose if either Adventure 1 or 2 was my favorite 3D Sonic game....until Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations appeared. =)

Bought the game with the intention of gifting it to my brother, ended up playing it a week or two. Not all that bad considering how wide the availability of the game was, especially when even to me it was a foreign feeling playing a Sega title outside of a Sega console,

 

Gameplay and story could've been better. I much more enjoyed the premise and handling of the two prior Adventure titles in comparison.

When I first played through it, I was pretty skeptical about it. I've grown to really like it though. It's one of the better new(er) games of the series, if ya ask me.
