Anyway, this is a mess. This is kinda what I dreaded about this movie--not just that it would look and/or be bad, but that it would get a lot of the wrong attention. Just going by what I've seen up to page 395, we apparently have crew members having to block people and big name stars using their time between showbiz to snark at it.

No one really knew who Chadwick Bosman was when Black Panther came out(well there was civil war, but still for the most part) and he was still able to break records with his film. Most of the actors there were still really off the radar to most.

No, you're missing the point--the box office determines a movie's success. It doesn't matter what actors, directors, etc. you have--if your movie doesn't make money, it's realistically a failure.

Agreed actors do not sell films for me. It's the actual plot and story. I liked black panther for the character finally getting a film and the story. I could care less for the actor in most any film.

Though seriously that the ripoff character design looks more decent than Sonic's and that this is fully animated really hurts inside. Also, there's a female love interest named Rose (sans Amy) and speaking of the Dio Brando jokes with the trailer scene with Sonic and missiles, Dio's VA is actually in the ripoff movie, no joke!

How is it that the ripoff movie, even though not that great, feel like it get things more right than the actual $90 mil Hollywood budget one?

I guess, that’s a fair point. I still hope the teams don’t have to deal with a huge workload as a result of this. 

The most annoying thing here, is that this likely was due to upper managements out of touch stubborn decisions in the first place. I’m sure people raised concerns about the creative decisions made but were ignored, and whatever consequences now will happen, is on them to fix. Guess we just wait now and see what the plan is. Best I can hope for is a delay like others have said.

He and Evan Susser (Fist Fight) used to be the writers of the movie, but were replaced by Patrick Casey and Josh Miller. However, they do get credit for the story. He used to be around on this forum a few years ago. I do remember he did try to calm everybody down and not worry about the film being like other typical Live Action CGI films. He say that we will all be surprised.:

There is no way they can alter the design now and release the film on time. Either they make minor changes involving the the angles of the quills on Sonic's head, the head shape, eye shape and fixing the mouth proportions and expect it to release on time. 

 

At this point, if Paramount really cares about this film and want it to be good. They will delay it. Pushing it for its original release is dumb if it's unfinished and proper edits haven't been made. We don't want another 06.

Basically this. A grand majority of people expect this movie to be crap because 1) It's a video game movie, and 9/10 of those suck, and 2) It's Sonic, being done by people in this day and age that clearly don't understand anything about the character.

06 actually had potential to be good and the game was rushed to release for its deadline. And was the worst thing in the franchise as a result.

Other games were doomed from the start like Forces for example. 

Calling the film a black sheep so early is just plain laughable.
