That's something not to look forward to...expectations lowered...

Still can't wait to see it though.

And according to one Wiki source, UK episode 12 out of 14 could be Guilt Tripping.

Well. That was an episode I really didn't like.

How about I put it this way.

The guy is named Swifty and he basically talks like a old man trying to sound hip. Using all the things you'd expect the 80's Ninja Turtles to say. But somehow, this causes everyone to love him, and Amy and even fucking Sticks swoons for him. What did he do to impress them? Amy drops a burger...and he catches it. Oh wowwwww.

The episode tries it's hardest to make Sonic look like an uncool idiot who keeps screwing up, while Swifty is something right out of the 80s extreme era. Skateboard and everything (Oh, by the way, Swifty being as fast as Sonic is bullshit, he just rides a rocket skateboard but somehow, everyone still thinks he's faster than Sonic.)

The one good part of the episode finally comes when Tails, Amy, Sticks, and Knuckles get pissed off after Swifty insults Sonic and more or less tells him he's an asshole and to get out. But just as I think the episode is going to pick up, the townspeople comes in, and they make the episode just fall flat on it's ass. They seriously gives the Modern Bikini Bottom citizens a run for their money in the asshole department.

They treat Swifty who only arrived one day ago as some kind of idol while Sonic I.E: the person who saved all of them countless times, is treated like shit. They then banish him without regret when Swifty clearly cheats in the race, and then the second Eggman attacks them and reveals Swifty was a army of robots he created, suddenly they all expect Sonic to come back and save their useless asses. Then we get one of the few good moments as Sonic keeps trying to sneak back into the town, only to be stopped by two cops.

Then despite the fact the town's being destroyed, the mayor still acts like an asshole until Amy screams at him to unbanish Sonic. And even after Sonic saves all of them, they more or less barely show any thanks for it.

This episode is quite frankly one of the worst so far, up there with Buster and Into the Wilderness.

I haven't seen the English version yet, but I saw the French with English subtitles version, and I thought it was decent. One thing that made Sonic's bad treatment worth it, was the fact that Swifty was a series of robots by Eggman. Eggman built such an impossibly competitive rival for Sonic, that it managed to blind everyone with admiration, and even struck jealousy in Sonic. That's honestly a bit more relieving, then making Swifty an actual character who fooled all those people.  I'm glad Swifty was just a bunch of robot clones, and not an actual character. Luckily we won't likely be seeing that jerk anymore. I especially loved how it didn't take long for Sonic's friends to realize Swifty is a real jerk. It would have been mean spirited for Sonic's friends to be unsure of who's side to be on, or just stick with Swifty. Even though they were worried, they still rooted for Sonic during the town race. Even when Sonic lost, they felt bad for Sonic, and couldn't believe what had just happened. What would have made the episode better, was if after Sonic was banished, Sonic's friends decided if Sonic is banished, than so are we. Then when Eggman's plot was revealed, the mayor could have caught up to Sonic and his friends, and warned them about the trick. Overall, I thought the episode was decent, it started off a little frustrating, but it really picked up when Sonic's friends stuck up for Sonic, and got mad at Swifty for being a jerk. It shows that no matter how cool they think someone else is, they won't let that get in the way of remembering their old friends.

Saw it just now, I....actually really liked it. I'm a sucker for the Sonic/Tails bromance and that's the first time in a long time that I've heard either of them vocally declare the other to be their best friend (instead of it just being written on their profiles by Sega)

Eggman still has plans to build to build a theme park then.

...

Yeah. That reeked of 80's action films at the beginning. The middle just seemed... lame. And the end was practically non-existant.

Brilliant. 10/10. [Joke. Very much a ratings joke]

I thought I'd mention this here.

I'm a big fan of Sonic & Tails' bromance and I have a personal headcanon when it comes to the Boom series, especially Can An Evil Genius Crash On Your Couch.

My Head Canon is basically the reason Sonic was staying in Tails' house in the episode despite having his own house is because Tails is scared about being in his house alone at night so Sonic decided to sleep at his house so Tails can feel more secure knowing his big bro is watching over him, and Sonic can help his little bro get some sleep.

What'd you think of it Ming?

Well there were some parts of the episode that made me cringe. Sonic trying to create cool catchphrases (he doesn't need to, he's already cool duh!), Amy and the burger (I mean seriously? That was so cringe) and the townspeople. The townspeople were absolutely stupid is unreal. Sonic saves your ass countless times and that's how you repay him?

I wish I can say this episode was totally RADICAL! But it's kinda opposite of that. 5.5/10

Nope, it has already been aired in the US. I would have said so if it's unaired. =P

EDIT: OMG. Sky+ removed the (out of) 14 episode count on all Sonic Boom episodes in their guide. It shows nothing now. That's an indicator that maybe they are showing more episodes.

Oh well since the episodes are available to watch, say my thanks for your friend, Ming Ming! So let's get a move on! Like my new catchphrase? no...oh....ok.

First off, Closed Door Policy.

Easily one of the better episodes though I wouldn't say it's as great as the first 3 episodes or The Meteor but I would put as high as Eggheads, which is right under those 4 for me btw.

Lots of really nice jokes, whether it was Tails nerding off to Knux who doesn't understand a single what's he saying, Eggman constantly attempts to steal a Comedy Chimp comic (jeez, that guy is everywhere) and everyone taking the piss on Amy......(that sounded needlessly dirty)

Also hints of Eggman having mommy issues and more Sonamy hints is always nice. Also that entire sequence with Sonic kicking the coconut bombs was so hilarious yet graceful as well, I don't know what's the name of that song that plays in that sequence but I hear that all the time well atleast in Spongebob.

Also the thought of a surfboard made from the hardest wood in the island preventing the Froglodites from taking over is also pretty silly as well. As for the Froglodites themselves, they're fine. They had some nice jokes like Og taking a sick day so yeah, would like to see them more.

Also really loved the music that plays when the Boom cast were fighting the Froglodites!

Though I felt there wasn't much character development in this episode but it didn't need to since the jokes were really spot-on and the action scenes were really nice aswell.

Now, Blue with Envy

First off, I want to say this. I can't stand Swiftly, he's so obnoxious and his goddamn outdated lingo just screams "tryhard". Seriously, "duderino broguy"?

So yeah, glad that he was a robot. Easily the worst Boom exclusive character and people thought the Gogobas were bad. This shrew is radically terrible.

/radicalrantover

Anyway for the episode itself, it's one of those episodes where a cooler guy overshadows the cool main character so yeah. It's serviceable but it really made a lot of nice jokes for Sonic. Like trying to do everything Swiftly does but fails like trying to feed Knux a Meh Burger in one bite or Sonic constantly trying to get inside the village with the guards saying no with a disinterested look. Also I can easily relate with his hatred to Swiftly since I hate him, it's funny that way :D.

"Radical SHUTYOURPIEHOLE!"

But it's cool that this episode shows that Tails and Sonic are really close friends and it's nice to see the others realize that Swiftly is a POS and supported Sonic during the race.

Of course since it's a robot, shocker I know.

Eggman announcing his plan of making a theme park is so Boom Eggman, he literally is a man-child. And of course making a statue of himself is obviously very egotistical and still very Eggman-ish.

But yeah, this episode is alright. Everything is fine well except the townspeople being inconsiderate pricks to Sonic but hey that happened in Don't Judge Me as well so whatever.

Just really hate Swiftly now.

Excuse me, while I go beat up robotic green shrews that are major tryhards.

Actually, Boom!Eggman shares the regular continuity's plans. In Adventure, Unleashed, and various other games, he's only destroying all these places...so he can build a amusement park.

I thought Eggmanland was that he was going to take over the world and make his own robotic utopia where he rules it all. I don't see amusement park anywhere in that sentence, well there's Unleashed but that's more like a kickstart than anything really.

What about Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park?

As for the song used when Sonic kicked coconut bombs, it's the Blue Danube. Although I affiliate it more with The Simpsons, when Homer ate potato chips in space, it was used in SpongeBob.

And, if Eggman has mommy issues, will we EVER see Momma Eggman in the Archie Comics, complete with her mustache?

Well, I guess that's just a distraction used to hide the Mind Control Cannon really.

Well I didn't watch a whole lot of Simpsons in my existence so Spongebob easily popped into my head.

Now that you mention Momma Eggman?

Mister green pathetically forced coolness the shrew was supposed to be self-parody of everything that was wrong with Sonic in the 90s, right? Cause it sure worked well, that episode was hilariously terrible. Also pretty good. It was weird.

Swifty is voiced by Roger too, right? I think I hear Roger in that voice.

Aaaanyway, people seemed to be getting mad about "Eggmanland now being a joke", but I think this is a coincidence. Sonic Unleashed was the only game out of all of them to actually have Eggmanland as an amusement park specifically, every other just mentioned it as his evil empire, which can mean anything that is evil and an empire. Plus, never in the episode did they actually say "Eggmanland", and there have been other theme park levels in the games before, so.

Man, it's too bad Cartoon Network doesn't give Sonic Boom any love in America, because those French episodes with English subtitles were hilarious. I really liked the pairing of "Two For The Price Of Two" and "The Good Resolution". There's something that I couldn't help but notice in the Two for the Price of Two episode. That episode left another possible  hint on Sonic and Amy's relationship. Since in the parallel dimension, Knuckles is basically the Sonic of that world. We see him and Amy being openly romantic with each other. Being open to romance is quit the opposite of hiding one's feelings for another, which Sonic and Amy have been seen to do a bit in the series. Since that world is full of alternate behaviors, it does leave a big contrast to the open relationship between alternate dimension Knuckles and Amy, along with the secret feelings of Sonic and Amy. After all, in that universe, the characters did have different qualities, like Eggman being less hammy, and more destructive, along with Dave being more interested in wanting to help, instead of not wanting to help.

Well, I'm not gonna lie: I'm not too fond of "Blue With Envy."

Perhaps I'm just too familiar with all of the tropes that it used, but everything about it and the way the Bygone Island folks (and even Sonic's friends, initially) just comes off as a bit too contrived for my liking. While I wouldn't call it a Sonic "torture porn" (what the hell does that even mean beside nasty behind-closed-doors stuff?), it's clear that it was Sonic's turn to be the butt-monkey (that one character whom the story seems to have it out for), and the plot doesn't handle it all that well. Swifty himself comes off like a weird mix of Jet the Hawk (albeit with a more pleasant voice) and a heavily flanderized (mischaracterized to the point of being one-note) Bart Simpson at his most 90's.

This episode is not the worst so far, but it's mostly pretty un-entertaining nonetheless.

Regarding Blue with Envy.

Looks like Swifty's a nod to the 90s dude-with-tude phenomenon that followed in Sonic wake, I appreciate the reference.

Sonic getting insecure about it was kind of cute, wouldn't say Sonic has a false ego by any means, but that doesn't mean it's untouchable.

Ending feels weird as usual, I think Swifty should have cheated by other means because it feels Eggman was shoehorned in at the last minute.

i really liked Closed door policy!!..  i loved that this time Knuckles was actually heplful !

Tails gun thing reminded me Fire and Ice Tails' gun..  ;) hehe

and well  Blue with Envy.. i just liked Sonic's attitude when he got out of the town.. playing with the cops heheh so cute..

i think Swifty was a sort of Shadow and Jet character... made by Eggman, is a robot, has clones, like Shadow, he thinks he is faster but he only uses a air gear, is green acts like Jet...

Sonic was more or less the only thing keeping the episode afloat for me. I liked his jokes, and especially him trolling the guards. Other than Sonic though, I just didn't like that much in the episode.
