TwitchPlaysPokemon (Couple minutes passed, guess it's time to save again!)

Yeah, the second day started pretty good but it went to one of Surge's many trash bins pretty quickly.

We braved Mt Moon and got the Dome Fossil, now, I know the general Twitch population will be demanding blood but there is a perfectly reasonable reason for this choice.

Actually, it's also believed that we are doing this to destroy it in the Indigo Plateau a la LoTR.

Then we headed to Cerulean, we explored the city for a while and defeated Misty the Poison mistress then we headed to the Nugget Bridge, cleared the challenge and went to Bill. In a pretty savvy twist of events when Bill asked us for help we denied it and when he got into his machine we left the place.

But alas, it seems that we can't interfere too much with historical events so we had to free Bill again, then we headed to Vermillon but in theway we started crippling our party in true TPP fashion:

* the chairman forgot Super Fang and learned Leer

* HyperBug stopped being so hyper when he lost Mega Horn and Hydropump in place of Spider Web and (the aptly named) Frustration (though in an almost heartwarming moment, his damage sucks which means he must love us :V)

Then we found out that Route 11 is chocked on Starters and other great mons (we got a Squirtle and managed to spot Torchics, Dratinis and other temptations), which could start a push for the PC if we manage to get something good (we already filled our other party slots with a Nincada and a Wooper). special mention goes to the Torchic that has Flamthrower and Sacred Fire.

Despite this, it seems we moved on while I was sleeping, we got into the SS Anne where we faced Green one more time (now using electric typés, also his starter learned Splash >_>) and got HM01 cut after masterfully rubbing the captain's back, then we blcked out and got kicked out of the ship.

After that it seems the group spend a chunk of the Night Shift trying to teach the HM to something (we ended up overwriting Psychic from our Chairman) went to the gym and faced Surge, he said "he is an expert on electric types" but what we didn't expect was that by that he meant "he is good at fighting electric types"! indeed, the lightning American was a Ground Type specialist and took us 4 tries to bring him down (which is a bit disappointing because some people wanted to use this as a reason to grind the other mons).

As of now it seems we went Safari Zone on the route, we got a punching Taillow, a Cacnea, a Pikachu, a Wingull and a Ratatta (and still no Torchic). PC shenanigans seems imminent.

Anyway, in the cool art department, someone took his time to redraw the Gym leaders:

Would be interesting if like the good side of Twitch and A, Kabuto also gets his named cleared and redeemed as well.

It appears that Lt. SUrge....is digging it!!

SO yeah, Church of the Helix Choir is still a thing and selling; here's one of their more recent soundtracks: "Lazor Gator"

Amazing! We actually let Surskit evolve! A and her team's stats aren't half bad at the moment. And the only thing released so far has been a level 3 Zigazoon.

Well that was anticlimatic...

After 3 days of "sort of grinding" and wild rides (and streams downPOTATOPOTATOPOTATOPOTATOPOTATOPOTATOPOTATO) we finally managed to clear rocket hide out... In Democracy, which kinda sucks because with the current viewer count it would have been possible in Anarchy, we know for a fact the Blue stream back in the Red days did it.

Still, not all is happiness in the stream world, apparently someone managed to get some info about the randomizer and started leaking stuff (Giovanni's Pokemons and the levels they appeared in gives his post a lot of legitimacy), since this is the internet, information has begun spread and people have started running wild in the chat, some of them are even planning in advance for our current team based in the info they got from the leak!

I managed to avoid most of the important spoilers except for one.

Don't be surprised if you see people pushing to go for the Old Amber.

It really doesn't matter at this point whether we do something in anarchy and democracy. The real achievement is learning not to blacklist one and let co-exist and work together for Primus' sake!

I'm also disappointed they didn't manage to win a Porygon, >:U. It seems like this play through can do anything at this point XD

Maybe they'll get one this time, thanks to the randomizer and whatnot.

Our rival Green is apparently in possession of Unown. Bjq5U8F.png

qmkQ4MG.pngGREEN! How rudely insensitive of you!

For our good "Shellock Holmes"

Well it seems all hell broke lose... Again...

I went to sleep having a fairly average TPP run... Maybe too average even! We were grinding our team as any regular player would and we were arguing if retrieving the chairman was worth it at this point (we ended up getting a random Cacnea, which made me lol).

Then we had to go and catch a Slakoth.

For those not in the known, Slakoth is one of those "hard to grind but good reward in the end" mons, his stats aren't so good and he has the Truant ability (he moves one turn but he spends the next one loafing around), then he evolves into Vigoroth which is still pretty average, but then he turns into Slaking which is a monster with an attack power and base stats that rivals legendaries!

Of course, all this power is limited because Slaking gets Truant as an ability again but this is not the case in here thanks to the randomizer. There is still a 1/79 chance of Slaking (or Vigoroth) ending up with Truant anyway but a chunk of the community doesn't like the odds, and of course, they got very vocal against the possibility of ending up with a "Win Button" in a game that is most likely going to have a nerfed Elite 4 anyway (because of the random mons and movesets). It might or might not also thrown all the work they wanted to put into their favorite mons to waste since the run might as well turn around the sleeping beast now.

Oh well, as usual I'll remain neutral and see how it pans out. If we get to finish this game a lot quicker than usual so be it, I'm quite curious to see what will happen from here on (the next main Pokémon games are on the DS)

In the meantime have a pic of who is so far my favorite member of the party:

Quag Quag

EDIT: We just beat Sabrina, the Normal type specialist (can't wait to see if people will be able to come up with something for that)

Guess what we just got?

Mew--article_image.jpg

We got it from some kid that really really wanted a Nidoran! :V

This kinda triggered another storm on the reddit when people started to complain about how OP our team is turning out but truth to be told other than the base stats I'm not seeing it this time, people seems to have forgotten we are playing a randomized run and that all the super amazing movements our new member could get got swapped by things more suited to it's typing (and if you checked the spoiler, you should know what that means).

Mew's talent to learn every single TM might have also been overwritten because the randomizer also prioritizes moves of the same type as the Pokémon you want to teach the move.

So I, for once, welcome to our new prince to the group. o/

(though I wish they didn't have to drop my favorite mon on this run to get it >_>)

As of now, we are having quite a lot of troubles dealing with Koga "the Air Ninja", his Ninjask has a very awesome ability (Pure Power) and is troubling our current party a lot. Not to mention that his ninja arts have once again proven to be too strong for us, not only he's as hard to find as ever, he also made our HUD invisible! ohmy.png

(It's actually a part of the stream crashing because some Chrome oddity, it happened before and the streamer said it was an issue related to the potato twitch speak "feature"... I kinda hope the streamer doesn't fix this any time soon, the chaos is providing me with so much needed amusement)

In the art department, our Gym redesigner released more pictures showing us the new Koga and Sabrina:

I'm so happy he switched the original "office" look for this "completely normal Gym" one.

Not a fan of the chicken suit but I gotta love how hazardous most of the gyms are in Pokemon games. :U

A and her team became Pokemon League Champions.

But seriously, when it came down to Gary Stalinking just annihilated his entire team with just Return.

The Power of Love really did overcome all.

In wrestling terms, Gary just jobbed out to A. Badly.

So now...

ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ VICTORY RIOT ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ

EDIT:

They're playing Red Rescue Team (!) in the downtime to Platinum.

'Charm'/Prince Charming the Charmander and Aoz/Ozzy the Mudkip are our Rescue Team.

They're going to do Platinum?!

I might pay more attention to that one.  Platinum's probably my favourite game in the series.

There were no doubts about Twitch beating the Elite 4, this time around. This playthrough was a breeze, Team Rocket Hideout aside. I wonder how Platinum will be.

But, since I'm guilty of having watched FireRed just 4 or 5 times, I have to ask; Who was the signature pokémon this time?

Might have been Shellock Holmes the Blastoise, Hyperbug, or the Slaking.

Well, Stalinking the Slaking have to get honors for totally wiping out Gary's team without breaking a sweat, but I would say Hyperbug since, based on seniority, has been there for pretty much the entire run.

Wouldn't if figure that now that we're in Pearl, there's actually an official Twitch faction of "anti-evolutionists".
