completing hard mode unlocks.....?

Anybody have an answer the the thread comment?

I'm on Lava mountain 3 and I'm fidning it hard to find the will to keep going.....these bosses are not "fun" just annoying.

 

 

What do I get if I do battle on and complete the Hard mode? (or hard mode stages 1-7?)

You get the satisfaction of trudging through the game with one ring. No seriously that's it, I've gotten everything in the 3ds version: red rings (extra stages), hard mode, and all the emeralds (hard mode).

There's also harder final bosses too.

Yeeeap nothing.  I was pretty disappointed.  Hard Mode, the Extra Acts and Super Sonic are the only unlockables on the 3DS version.  Engaging in any of said content unlocks nothing further.

Sod that then....I'll just have a go at it when i feel like being annoyed to death! Hard mode special stages you say?!

Oh god....I HATED those gyroscope stages!!!
