And we've an update on where at least one of the stories is.

I assume he is mentioning that prequel story he claimed he would have ready... I'm not sure of the exact time, but it was a long while back. The Storm, that's it.

It's not related to Sonic. BTW It's Set after Sonic The Hedgehog #144.

The only two Sonic/TL-SC related stuff that's surfaced over the last two or so weeks, with the rest being a lot of Election based stuff. All we know is there's supposedly more TL-SC items to come (Don't know why when he can't sell the stuff he already has), and his request image thing speaks for itself.

Penders reaaaallly should have thought out that offer before he made it, but it's nice to see him not renege on it.

Once more, while I am definitely not fond of Penders' style or art, I will say this looks a lot better than the digitially made tripe he's been pushing ever since this project began. Why he insists on going digital when he's clearly a lot better at traditional pencilling and inking is beyond me.

You guys are aware that even great Sonic comic artists like Tracey Yardley have drawn fetish commissions too, right?

I never said anything about the artwork. He was requested to do it by the winner of the contest and he likely just felt like he had to honor that agreement. Doesn't change the fact that the art still has the usual Penders mistakes of weird proportions and weird expressions.

That was directed at Horridus, not you.

I'm just saying that given the various criticisms that were hurled at him and the general revulsion that the Su-Kini caused, he might've wanted to be a bit choosier about what he would and would not do, or at least be more discerning about what he'd be willing to display on his social media given that stuff like this doesn't really help. Nor for that matter did any of the other artists who did it later try to justify their work as political allegory- I'm not gonna link the tweets as anything political tends to spiral out of control, but it's there if you wanna look.

Yeah but then Ken ruins the art request by putting his own "take" on it:

Also wonder if he is planning on calling Robo-Robotnik "Robotic" in LSC or if it's just a misspelling.

Given his oh so 'creative' names for the things he can't own he's shown already (Power Stone, Praetorian, K'Nox, Princess of Acorn...), it could go either way. It could be a legit mispelling given his general lack of care, or it could be his new 'brilliant' name for the Robo/Robotnik stand-in for LSC. The world may never know.

The moment I saw that tweet go up, all I could think was "Welp, this is going to cause a stir."  If this is what the winner's into, then that's great for them, and at least they got what they wanted, but it's not exactly something that'll reflect well on Penders.  Honesty, it wouldn't surprise me if Ken failed to mention to the winner that he was going to make it public.

Now that I think about it, the deal never said anything about it being any more than "a chance to win a free drawing of their favorite character suitable for framing," so why even do this more in-depth request?  While I get Ken wanted to honor his word, he never promised this much to begin with.  What if someone had trolled him and asked for something outright explicit?  Would he have still allowed it and then posted it on Twitter?  Ken's logic here really confuses me.

Maybe Penders shares the fetish, but is too embarrassed to admit it?

You mean social and political commentary right?

You know, the ironic thing is that he has a full excuse for the image. Literally all he has to say is "I don't share the views of this image, and this was a request from a fan". Simple as. Instead, he's digging the hole further by claiming that a fetish picture of a captured Lien-Da getting tickled is somehow a representative piece about the political debate.

I know the guy who requested it, he's simply into foot fetish and is a nice guy. Really guys, having some fetishes doesn't make you weird, some people judging the guy here only based on that should look at themselves instead !

Just to be clear here (since you quoted my post when saying this), I don't have any problem with the guy, or him being into the fetish.  I tried clarifying that in the first part of the post, but I think I just made things more confusing.  Sorry about that.

My point was that it'd reflect badly on Ken because there are a lot of people who find it weird, since there's this stupid stigma about a lot of fetishes, even ones as tame as this.  It was pretty obviously going to cause a fuss for that reason, and that's the last thing Ken needs when he's trying to rebuild his reputation.  I really don't think the winner intended to cause any problems with the request; He just wanted a sketch of something he was into, and like I said, probably didn't know Ken would make it public.  Ken just didn't think about how people would react before deciding to post it.

Man it doesn't matter who you are if you are a Sonic Artist you will be Commissioned to draw Foot Tickling Art. It's just a fact of life.

I don't think that's true.

Asked, sure.

The fetish art isn't scaring me, but fetish art in Ken Penders' ugly artstyle is just horrendous. There could've beem better choices of artists that he could've commissioned, and he chose the one with one of the ugliest artstyles for Sonic. Why?

Penders did it for free. On election day he had a competition that if you tweeted a pic of you going to vote and tagged him, you'd be entered into a free commission draw. This fellow did and won his prize. It was a nice thing of Ken to do really, credit where it's due.

As I said, I am not giving him shit for the image itself. He did a nice thing by offering someone a free commission, and I don't particularly care what the person likes, it's none of our business, and if that's what they wanted from Penders, then fine cool whatever.

My problem is Penders has enough of an ego to not accept it as a cool thing to do for a fan and that the image doesn't reflect his views or whatever, but rather he's now trying to claim that a fan requested fetish commission somehow has a deeper symbolic meaning of the political race somehow and that he's just that deep.

That's the thing that's annoying me here.

As long as it's not outright pornographic or overtly violent, professional artists are allowed to draw whatever they want to. Like I mentioned before, you can find a few foot fetish drawings by Tracey Yardley floating around in places. Sure they're posted by the customer and not him, but if he had any issue with them being shared, I'm sure he'd say.
