However, as this is the LSC Chronicles Thread, I feel compelled to add something pertinent about Lara-Su Chronicles, and so I bring you this... decidedly odd creative insight from the man.

Ken, you have to stick to your guns. I came up with my book series as a Young Adult/ Adult book series. It would have crude humour not suitable for minors. I let people read the first book and a few said if it was put to screen that Disney might make it work, if they cut back on adult humour. I thought about it and concluded I didn't want it cut back. The crude humour is part of the soul of the series. In conclusion, I continue to make it young adult/ adult, despite knowing how it may cut a certain demographic out. Yes Ken, you may lose a few readers but it is true to what you want the series to be. Your series maybe shit but at least make it what its meant to be.

Myes, more or less. He mentioned how he intended for Taelor to be used to illustrate how Echyd'nya differ from humans, including when it comes to sex. Which frankly leads me to conclude that Taelor is destined to become Lara-Su's love interest, and that Xero is their hybrid offspring from the future.

To be fair, he's being rather generous with his rating. I mean if this was a film, this would definitely be a hard R in the US, and a hard 18 film in the UK, just for the sheer amount of scary imagery alone.

I think you might be missing the point of that complaint, Ken.  It's not about major characters like Lara-Su.  It's about the hundreds of unnecessary named Echidnas and the like that you kept adding to the book, even aside from the Guardians.  There weren't any reader questions that led to you making Lara-Su's one-page classmate Jaker, or Councilor Darwin, or Mykol, or Rita-Li, or Radar, or Marta, or the numerous members of the Lost Tribe who got names despite contributing almost nothing to the plot themselves.  Or, of course, the most infamous epitome of pointless named Echidna characters: Bimmy.

Saying that all of your characters were made because of reader questions is just plain untruthful.

I remember how happy and excited they were for Lara-Su, all the fan-art and the fancomics they did, how appreciative they were for that shoutout and how much love they showed for Ken and his works. 

Bet they were real fucking happy when he redesigned Lara-Su to have that stupid-ass visor.

If I recall correctly though, basically Sonic going to the past was going to wind up changing the timeline in some fashion, and King Sonic was gonna hover around as a kind of 'time ghost' unable to do anything. He even compared to DC's Flashpoint on his twitter.

Would that happen to be T2? Loved her works back in the day (such as 'Turning Points' and 'Search For the Guardian's Daughter' just to scratch the surface). I hope she went on to develop her talent further and live a fulfilling life and career.

Don't suppose you got any more of those threads on PDF? I've been kicking myself for thinking all of his 'greatest hits' have been preserved.

And yes, I believe so- I remember seeing their stuff on TeamArtail, and I remember those fancomics. And I just made myself horribly sad, realizing how her devotion will eventually be paid off... but yes, I really do hope she's refined her art and is doing something fulfilling, as you said.

No, it was wasn't just about the paycheck, it was also about being a spring-board to launch all your own characters, stories and ideas, most of which should really have been a personal project not shoe-horned into a licenced comic of unrelated material, purely so you had an already invested audience and popular licenced characters to keep people comimg back, only to be unceremoniously gutted later when you found a loophole in your contract, which never existed even tho Archie had a photocopy of it with your signature on it.

This guy..I mean the amount of tweets etc about mass media marketing, movies, apps, TV etc etc and if my memory is not failing me, about people getting to bent out of shape and it being just a job, and being about money due cause people dont work for free, and yet he never once considered it only a paycheck, compared to others even back then who obviously has great love and passion for the series like Spaz etc.

So much love and passion he has that he never played a single game or bothered to check source material etc. But it's alright as his son played the games and loved the character so that gave him more of an insight into the character than anyone else.

I'm actually glad he got his Lara-Su thing in the end, and that his content got removed personally, I dread what the comic would be like now if he were still on it and it had all followed his original plans. Blegh.

It's been a really long time coming, I just want him to finally release this thing and stop delaying and postponing behind projects that should be afterthoughts IF it's popular enough, like the app, shirts, phone cases etc. Sooner it's out the sooner we can all find out, him included, if this was worth all the trouble he caused. Then again...it could end up another "top selling comic" like #1 Lost Ones. That licencing empire is going to be hard to beat.

So, it's finally happened- he's finally begun to downplay Spaz of all people just make himself look better. Because the fact he knew somebody who was a fan makes him a more passioante individual about the whole thing than a guy who actually WAS a fan, and who actually sat down and played through Sonic Adventure sust so they'd be able to make that stupid adaptation in the comics. This from a man who boasted about never playing the games or reading his co-workers' work and who pretty clearly never really bothered all that much with the show it was originally meant to to tie-in to. 

Penders owes at least part of his career to Spaz's cover artwork, but hey, it's good to know that even THAT isn't enough to stop Penders from dragging someone.

I call so much Bullshit on his new "It was just a paycheck" narrative. You don't keep talking about a project you worked on to this day and sue for characters you created for that license if it was just a paycheck.

My brother bought the He-Man Mini comics collection a while back and in the interviews some of the writers struggled to remember a lot of what they actually did for those comics and often times weren't sure if certain things were even them. That's what doing comics for a paycheck looks like not literally everything that's gone down here.
