Stopped clocks and all, though I could have sworn there was a to-do before about age discrepancies for Geoffrey in the Archie comic.

I mean he says 4 year age difference he also says 6 year age difference who fucking knows with Penders?

I really think it'd be wiser to just focus on releasing the story in english and focus on all the bells and whistles and translations later, because at the rate he's going I don't think any of us will live to see the first book.

First rule of the service is not to mention the service.

Neither of its operations.

And I suspect queen Alicia in this case would a plausible denial welcome.

I don't want to live forever, but I think that's a prerequisite for reading this thing.

Alrighty, let's see.

1. Brownie's boobs are... really goddamn weird looking in the second picture. Not just that, but its like her torso is actually too wide to properly accommodate her body. Though hey, Kudos for getting that "Penders Face" down stat. Nobody rocks that Indifferent Sadness look better than Penders.

2. Unbelievable. There's barely any background to any of this. That one pic is just a void with vector graphics floating around, and the backgrounds we DO get are yet more photographs. Like, close up on those pictures and you can see the Photography Futz acting up. Cripes, I really am an idiot for presuming he'd at least want to draw out his Super Special Double-Oh-Ripoff Base. You'd think I would know better by now. Evidently not.

3. Penders might wanna double check whatever he is using for that German translation. It seems hostile to umlauts. Like, the words are technically accurate, but for some reason the umlaut bearing letters have been borked- it's meant to show as "Königin" and "würde".

Either way, not much to say really- bad art is bad, and Penders' yet again displaying his skewed priorities is as baffling as it is inane. So, same as usual.

Alright so from what I can gather Ken is translating the script as he writes it, rather than hiring a professional translator to do so as he finishes each chapter. I'm not an expert on how graphic novels, or at least what's attempting to be called one, are made but I'm pretty sure doing it this way would ultimately be more costly in the long run, especially if he decides to revise the script later on.
Also dear lord everything about the art is eye fracturingly painful, from the uncanny faces to the 1998-tier airbrushing (seriously man, celshading is not that hard). This comic will be a dumpster fire, a glorious unholy dumpster fire and I can't wait for it.

Anyone thinking logically would come to this conclusion. You don't translate a comic as you go along because of the simple fact that it takes a lot of time, money, and effort to do so.

Which, if you then push out the English release, only for it to flop, it will inevitably be a waste. Case and point, it took years for the Archie comics to get translations of any sort, and it took at least a few months for IDW Sonic to get translated - by which point - the comic was selling extremely well.

But again, it's a common problem of Penders. Instead of focusing on finishing up the project, and making sure it actually sells, he's putting all of his eggs in one bowl and hoping for the best.

It doesn't even stop with translations. This is the foolish man who thought that it was a good idea to make merchandise, discuss film deals, make a full app, and much more, expending more and more money without even discovering if the fucking thing will sell. For someone who claims to be a savvy businessman, he makes a shit-ton of absolutely and utterly embarrassingly foolish decisions.

No, he has translators, like myself.

Oops, poor wording on my part. Meant he seems to be getting a translator to do each chapter as he writes it, rather than waiting until he finishes them which sounds like it'd lead to some issues down the road if he has to revise any scripts etc.

I'm not sure if this is significant enough to really be considered an update, but it is, at least, Something New.

You know, this actually really is a rather revealing insight regarding his creative process. We see echoes of this in his Knuckles work, wherein we see him adding in concepts such as the Legion and the Brotherhood without putting any forethought into how it all works, making up details as he goes along and creating utter nonsense doing so.

...good grief that hair isn't even centered properly. But ah, then, he is an alien- ergo its not an 'error', it's 'intentional'. And totally not because of ineptitude on his end, no sir.

I forgot about this guy and thought it was the human after something had happened, and then thought Penders spoiled something.

I now see that's not possible, because even he doesn't know what he's doing until he's done it.

Maybe I shouldn't talk, though. When I'm making characters to play as in RPGs, I'm not even sure of all the details half the time until I've played a bit and formed up the character.

Good grief why doesn't he go all the way and make the characters look basically human. It's clear from that sketch that's basically how he starts drawing them. But then he adds the huge eyes, animal noses, and tentacle-like dreadlock spikes and makes it look awful (not that it would look amazing if he didn't, but it'd be less bad at least).

It's like, be a bit more committal, you know? If you want them to look like cartoon animals, do that. If you want them to look like humans, do that. The way he does it now is just a horrible mishmash between the two that doesn't work at all.

Some compare contrast might be good. Here's something I'm working on for mermay.

The beginning process is messy, so I forgive Penders there. Plus he can fix any mistakes with his character at this stage. I'm not happy with my character's hair, so I may change that. I do agree that Penders needs to plan out more. Have character sheets of each character and sketch out multiple sketches before deciding on a final one.  He may also want to adapt new art techniques. Here I scribbled with a mouse to get the base pose down which also oddly enough helps with anatomy? I also suggest putting down the background color, and the base character color (as in fill in the whole character that color). Here I have the background green because the character is in a pond. His base color will be white because he's a koi mermaid. Also I just suggest putting down each base color (eyes, clothes, hair), then doing the shading and lighting. It just way easier that way because you can clip shading and lighting layers to the base color.

I’ve been comparing him to Kanye West since the moment he was revealed.

No one is/was/will be expecting Chaos Emeralds to be in your story Ken because they aren't yours to use. Frankly I'd rather him just ditch the idea of having a Chaos/Master Emerald expy and just have the anti-gravity technology keep the island floating.

"The tech forces me to define the difference" Pfft why start now? You never seemed to care in the Knuckles series why the Echidna's still used tech despite renouncing it.

You know, its astonishing that he still expects people to expect elements from Sonic the Hedgehog in his book that is alledgedly supposed to stand on its own as a property seperate from Sonic the Hedgehog.

Hmmmmm. I wonder why...

Gosh, I'm stumped.

I mean, its such an original thing he's doing here. You'd think it'd be obvious this has no relation to Sonic since it came from the man that helms the completely originally named Floating Island productions.

He's such a buffoon doofus.

If he had real confidence in this story, he'd retell it from the beginning with OCs / humans.

Penders M25YL is boring as hell, it's insane. I know he was building some big Infinity War version of his OCs, he thought, but whatever. Reboot your Geoffreys and so on to be HUMANS.

And if the story is good, people will say, gee that's cool, wonder what it would've been like in the Archie comics, oh well. Or they'll like it independently of Archie Sonic. This has no chance of that, at all. This requires at least 1, probably 2 or 3, wikipedia articles read before understanding what you're in for and for what perverse reason you'd ever both.

If those are the values you want to promote, then maybe don't use the characters you have portraying those values to also glorify statutory rape.

Very tired and read this as "Some people like to take my quip about Geoffrey and Sally having sexual relations as an example of my values, but the fact is I have a 12-year-old body" and I'm now wheezing, send help

edit: Also I like how I can leave this site for months at a time, come back, and sure enough Penders is tweetin about cartoon characters having sex again.

Penders just really loves to think about it. Then says it's weird people look at Sonic porn as if he's not talking about Sally getting railed by his OC on a terrifyingly frequent basis.
