Sonic Lost World Wii U NPD LTD leak: 94,000 as of Feb 2014

Meh, that's a shame. I suppose this would be considered decent for the Wii U but this is overall quite dissapointing. I suppose it's what it deserves; if you make a 'meh' game, you get 'meh' sales; although I'm concerned if the quality of the game didn't actually have any bearing on the sales figures.

But 'RIP Sonic'? Oh, give me strength. Don't use such gross hyperboles.

... Well, I'm glad Nintendo exclusivity isn't going to continue in the future.

I suppose Boom'll be the judge of that.

Hmm.. We should wait until middle of may or june

Because in may, Sega Sammy release 4q finance reports, individiual financial report, and annual report

In june, they will be hold the general meeting of stockholders.

Omote, you're making this into a huge thing about SegaSammy, the franchise isn't profitable, and how you want Sonic to be sold to another company, when it's NOT that big and complicated. It's really clear that SLW sold this mediocre because it's on the Wii U. This isn't going to inspire Sega to sell off the franchise, it's still profitable.

Unleashed? Colors? Generations? Racing Transformed? All sold well. This was an exception due to it being on a somewhat failing console. Please stop it with the talk about Sonic failing as a whole and all that, I get super tired whenever I have to see this anywhere without any solid proof to back it up.

Yeah. U.C sales was good but generations? I hope you should read FY2012 2~3Q Sega Sammy financial report. Generations and london olympic draged up only 0.5B yen. and FY2013 3Q, that ASRT was released. Hatsune miku and PSO2 earned a big money . Not ASRT. Actually according to FY2013 3Q financial report. US and EU title sales was sluggish

and FY2014? SLW was flopped because the wii U was flopped. But Can You EXPLAIN why SLW 3DS SALES WAS SLUGGISH??

I wish AVGN review about SLW

Why would the Angry Video Game Nerd review Sonic Lost World have to do with anything?

Oh, it's because it sucks. Well, hahahahaha, that's such a good joke. -_-

Seriously, a mediocre game doesn't mean it sucks. It has the potential of being a good game but it had unnecessary gimmicks that drags it down, watch the 2015 game having the same gameplay style except with a clear direction.

Mediocre game + horrible sales + damage to company and stocks = trash game overall

Well from the looks of it Lost World Wii U did better than Wonderful 101, so does that mean that's a crappier game as well?

I don't judge a game whether if it is bad or good based on its sales.

Wonderful 101 was good game. But sales was horrible. This is only unlucky masterpiece But SLW is different. game is mediocre but sales was horrible If game quality is mediocre, Only sales can judge this game Sent from my SHW-M250S using Tapatalk 2

This is the one thing I honestly do NOT understand. People were freaking out over Nintendo getting some exclusive games. Nintendo has ALWAYS been getting exclusive games.

Because that's not what people were freaking out about. People were freaking about the extended circle jerk that immediately started happening around here following the exclusivity announcement because the huge success Lost World was obviously going to be should be the first step towards permanent Nintendo exclusivity; and that everyone should be happy with that when it comes to fruition (there was rarely any "if" when people were discussing it) unless they hate Sonic or something.

The popular sentiment around here just turned into "Sonic should be a Nintendo franchise now and the sales success of the 3-game agreement will prove it;" and no reason was ever given to justify the argument when the holes were poked in it despite how widely it was held. I distinctly remember discussions that amounted to little more than people asking why a permanent Nintendo partnership should be viewed as a good thing and getting responses that might as well have been "fuck you, that's why" for all the care people put into defending the viewpoint.

And Adventure 2 Battle was the only game that we know was a de jure exclusive like Lost World and Boom, by the way.

I'm not sure what's going on, but did someone seriously just say Sonic being sold to Blizzard would be a good thing?

Because Blizzard game was great (eg. Starcraft) and Company size is bigger than Sega

But actually i hope Sonic would be sold to nintendo, SCE, or Take Two

That would be like selling Mario to NCSoft. It's completely irrelevant what the quallity of their games are; platformers aren't their forte.

Well I don't see Sonic doing any better with a company that does MMOs or RTSs (Or whatever online crap they make), Bilzzard will certainly not accept Sonic since platforming is their thing, Nintendo might disregard Sonic just as they did with their own franchises like F-Zero or Starfox. Sega is better with Sonic and they know Sonic better than any other gaming developer.

Mario is still good, If mario were dead, Japan game industry would be devastated

But Sonic is dying because of horrible sales and bad game quality and if Sonic were dead, Sega Sammy stock and other casino-related stock would be rise up Because Sega Sammy is casino company now

If they were sell Sonic, they earned some money. And if they use some money to resort and casino, they can expect more profit than maintain Sonic franchise

Then Sega will pretty much be dead then, there is no way that Sega will continue as a gaming company without their blue hedgehog.

Sega networks digital games. their mobile game has still profitable.

If you want good Sonic games, then stop concerning yourself with who owns the IP and start asking for who's going to develop the games instead. It really doesn't matter whether it's SEGA or not who owns the brand.

They can't survive on those.  They need Sonic.  Notice how he's all over those things anyway.

I'm not sure if this is because of the Wii U, or the quality of the game. It's still really abysmal numbers.

It appears to be both actually.

Then again, for a Wii U title, the sales aren't really that bad.  In fact  the numbers a little better than I thought they were.  The only real issue I see it that Lost World didn't sell over a million copies, which is the amount major sonic titles (and even most handhelds) usually sell.

IIRC. Sonic 06 and SatBK are the only major titles that didn't reach 1 million+.
