Sonic the Hedgehog: how fans have subverted a fallen mascot

If he believes they're mediocre, that's fine. To believe they weren't profitable...I could have sworn they sold well.

Colors was profitable.

But. Generations wasn't profitable.

If you can't believe. Check the Sega's FY2012 2Q and 3Q financial report

I'm checking various sources, and if my info is correct, it didn't sell as well as Sonic Colors (you won that one), but it still did well. I could be wrong, they could be unreliable, but that's what I'm seeing here.

...weren't we talking about an article here?

I just did, and apart from a slight reduction on Year-over-Year in net sales there's absolutely nothing that so much as suggests that Generations wasn't profitable with 1,850,000 sales.

He judges games by their sales and not how good they actually are.

And that issue is further emphasized by the fact that he doesn't understand the sales of Sonic games at all.

I'm getting the impression he doesn't understand financial statements either.

London olympic + Sonic generations reduced operating loss only 0.5B yen. Miku and other business is doing well in FY2012 3Q. Do you think SG is still profitable now? Back to the article. I agree that Sonic is fallen mascot, But. I disagree that fans have surverted Sonic franchise Sega kills Sonic over 3 times. 06,(bad game quality) Generations(restructuring), and Lost World(Identity lost) but i don't think Sonic fans kills Sonic. Creepy picture(Like yaoi), complaing, etc... is occur other fanbase either Sent from my SHW-M250S using Tapatalk 2

Yes. Just because it isn't as profitable as some other titles like a crossover game doesn't mean it didn't do well sales wise.

What?

Operating Loss/Income is the expenses of the business such as production costs/wages/electrical bills etc. things that aren't directly consumer related but still need to be deducted from net revenue.

Oh, Generations is totally another dark age of Sonic, on the same level of 06, just because it didn't sell quite as well as Colors. That's a brilliant way of judging a game's quality through sales, and then bowing out of elaborating.

So going by your logic, any game that doesn't get a score above 80 on Metacritic or sells stellar numbers clearly means it isn't worthy of being called competent or just plain "good". If that's not an extremely unfair and close minded view instead of giving a game a chance, I don't know what is.

Is there really anything that you say about the series that isn't "SEGA should just sell the franchise and go Casino" and "every recent Sonic game has been a flop."?

Every recent Sega's Sonic is flop(Include only publishing). That's why i hope other companies make Sonic and please.. Back to the main topic Sent from my SHW-M250S using Tapatalk 2

The only definite flop that in the franchise in recent times I can think of is Sonic Lost World, and that's due to the Wii U not having too many owners, which may or may not change depending how things turn out this year.

Plus, while I agree there should be discussion of the article, you're posting habits are making it a bit difficult to do so.

Seeing that this topic is about the Sonic fanbase in general, why are you spouting out this nonsense about financial reports again when the OP and entire discussion has nothing to do with finances? Stop derailing this thread and others that you done the same thing to with irrelevant mentioning of financial reports. You have been notified on how to conduct yourself with your posting habits so I suggest you take that into serious consideration. And don't say anything in regards to how the discussion should proceed as that is along the lines of backseat moderating. That is a given for the discussion to continue without your input for that to happen, especially when you really didn't do it yourself. I just find it ironic that you are telling everyone to get back on topic when you was the very one that derailed it in the first place. You either contribute to the topic at hand in a relevant manner which calls for explaining yourself, or you don't post at all. Nothing less, and definitely nothing more than that.
Actually. I found a problem after I complete first post. and I tried to find a delete button But. DELETE button isn't exist!! So. I was forced to defend many blames. Sent from my SHW-M250S using Tapatalk 2

If you knew that going on about sales again would provoke people to respond to you while you didn't want anyone to respond, why didn't you just keep it to..... Bah....

There is an "Edit" button to fix your post, or I guess you could've NOT defend what wasn't suppose to be defended. That just seems like a clearly bad move to actually go ahead with.
