Anyway, I'm somewhat hopeful. Probably won't pick it up until reviews come out.

This has to be Sonic Mach 2. Sonic Mach 2 roughly translates to Sonic Makes 2. 'Going number 2' is colloquially used for taking a crap.

It all makes sense.

I miss Dimps.

...can't believe I said that.

Why, though? Has Sonic 4 really sullied things with people to the point that they forgot that they've also made the well-received Sonic Advance and Sonic Rush titles?

I think it'd be neat if someone who writes for the show wrote this game's script. I don't have the same hate most people do for Pontac and Graff, but I can't deny SC's writing seemed pretty bad based on what little I saw.

SC and RoL suffered from similar problems in that the writing had no connectivity whatsoever.  The plot segments seemed to exist for little purpose but to toss gags down your throat by the shovelful rather than advancing the plot.  So yeah, I'd love it if maybe they made something that actually had a sense of progression to it.

Well, Sonic 4, Sonic Generations, and Sonic Lost World too.

Just reading into that press release a bit more:

"The new title also delivers gameplay that enables players to run through the game at top speed, or take their time with deeper exploration and puzzle play."

Well, if that's true then great. Having said that, the first game let you do that as well...before forcing you to go back and explore anyway.

This is actually a pretty comforting notion. They know that most people want Sonic to go fast, so having the option to rush through the level instead of being meticulous about everything would be a definite plus.

"The team’s adventures will bring them to locations both familiar and new as they explore, race and protect their world".

Please tell me they aren't going to be reusing any level themes from the first game. I mean I know they likely won't but at this point anything seems possible over at SEGA.

This game will probably have had one of the shortest development times for any Sonic game on record coming a year after Sonic Boom Shattered Crystal, you'd better bet that they're going to be reusing assets!

I don't even know where to start with this.

And I have to cover it all.

Help.

I'm screwed.

Dude we just have a trailer and a PR announcement and some screenshots. chill, ask one of the TSS staff to give you the stuff they found so far.

I really don't get it. I mean, sure, the show is somewhat successful, but the first two games were complete garbage. And that's not good publicity. Who's gonna buy those games? The kids watching the show and who else?

But whatever, that's not Sonic. I'll live.

Here you go consider it a guest writer contribution.

It's not the fact that they announced Boom 2/spinoff which really gets me, it's the fact they've done it so soon after the last one and how the fallout from it is still fresh and how there's been no answers or apology(lol) from Sega about the whole thing.

>SEGA still giving Boom the time of day with another game

>Yet the success of PSO2 still can't reach the West

Dunno about y'all but I find this personally funny, giving me a grin on my face and crap.

You had the option to rush through levels in Shattered Crystal as well. It just meant you had to go back and actually do the searching crap before you can unlock new levels. The ''option'' was still there.

I go on a vacation and THIS happens? Did NOT see this coming!

Gonna try and keep this simple.

The art is good, but I'm neutral about the gameplay. I see they used scenes from the TV series. The robot's name is D'fekt? (or something else?) That's a stupid name and a terrible pun on Defect.

I think I can understand why its on the 3DS. SC got slightly better views than ROL. (Albeit still negative and bad sales. :v). At least all five are playable. (News flash SEGA: putting Amy as playable does not necessarily make her new). They're gonna put Eggman in this game right?

You know, I'm glad SEGA has at least an ounce of self-awareness, but somehow this really doesn't instill more confidence.

So now I've calmed down after my initial reaction, I can calmly say that I'm definitely not getting this game unless it improves on many of the problems Shattered Crystal had; gameplay, music, script *shudder* the works. If it turns out to be just as mediocre though I'll just keep ignoring it and waiting an eternity for Sonic Team's game. Sigh...

Me too. 8( They haven't done anything since SLW! This would've been the perfect opportunity to release a new Sonic Rush title on 3DS.

And even just bulldozing the levels in typical Sonic fashion is boring because of how repetitive and badly controlled it is, in my opinion.  So even if we removed all the "Metroidvania" elements, it would still be a lackluster experience in my eyes.

Agreed. Plus, the levels, even when bulldozing through them could take up to 6 minutes to finish, and that's on the first level in the game alone.

Music? I thought the Howard Drossin soundtrack in SC was amazing compared to RoL!

The length of the levels are only bothersome because of the bad and stale level design.  I'd actually love it if Sonic levels were longer, instead of the "two or three minutes of fun and then you're done" format we've had for the past half a decade.

Watched the trailer and my overall reaction was the same as Eggman's.

Amy's playable so that's nice but the first game was one of the blandest Sonic gaming experiences of my life.  Not bad but just so flat and... yeah, bland.

I agree. If the levels were so boring, with such bad design, I wouldn't mind the longer levels either.

What am I fighting for?

Why make Sonic Boom Three when the first two failed, their first try so brutally?

The existence of Boom Three proves 06 II is entirely plausible.

On the other hand, the existence of Boom Three makes 06 II REALLY LIKELY! YAY!

Also, this game looks like this is going to play well despite it's childishness. Fire... Fire makes me think we'll get Boom Blaze in this. And as a result, to fill the "Ice" half, will Perci be letting it go? Meesa pretty sure the only people who will get this game are the youngsters the show is aimed at, a certain Mr. Enter, Sonic collectors, Boomtards, and me. Being able to switch between five on the fly is interesting, a successor to the Advance series.
