Whatever happened to the Sonic movie?

Hi guys, new member to the forum so apologies if this has already been covered, but whatever happened to the Sonic movie?

 

It was announced a year ago now and we've heard nothing since. Reckon it's been cancelled? Is there any way to find out what's going on there?

It was  probably gonna be based on boom and then they only just realised (somehow) surprise boom is shit, so they delayed or cancelled it. Live action was a stupid idea anyway. Hope they decide to go CGI or animated all the way. Or not at all if it's at all related to boom.

The movie's probably not going to be out for years, so I'm not surprised we haven't heard anything. Not ruling out the possibility it is or will end up in development hell since that does obviously happen, but (as far as I know) we have no real reason to think that it has.

It was already confirmed at E3 last year that it wasn't going to be connected to Boom.
