Aaand Sega just unloaded a legit shocker; a Sega-commissioned, serious JRPG, that was mainly on PSP (in its current 7th Dragon 2020 form), exclusively on 3DS and NOT on Vita whatsoever.

Yes, the IP started on DS, but when it jumped to PSP the IP got a MAJOR facelift, see below:

Staff:

Director: Masayuki Kawabata
Producer: Juro Watari
Scenario Writer: Sou Yoda
Character Designer: Shirow Miwa
Composer: Yuzo Koshiro
Theme Song: sasakure.UK

Imageepoch were the devs of all three eartlier games, as well as Stella Glow for 3DS which was picked up by Sega and is being localized by Atlus in NA. However, IE have closed due to bankruptcy, and Sega saved Stella Glow after it was finished in November 2014, a month after it was unveiled. We don't know yet if IE were involved with this, both the director and producer this time are not the same ones from the 2020 games on PSP, and ironically, the director of those, ALSO directed Stella Glow. The new game does have the same character designer, writer, composer, and whatnot otherwise in the list above so far, but those are freelancers I think. Both the director and producer here are Sega folks, with Masayuki Kawabata having directed Phantasy Star 0 on DS prior, and Juro Watari was the producer of numerous Virtual On games.

So yeah, wow! What do you think? :D

None of these games have come to the West have they? That sucks, but I will pick up Stella Glow for sure since it is coming here.\

Seems like SEGA just stopped releasing RPG's over here all together, We never got the 3rd PSP Phantasy Star game Burst Infinity that had that cool looking chick Nagisa in it, nor Valkyria Chronicles 3 or various Shining games.

So a series of multiple games that I never got to play because they didn't get localized gets a Sequel that probably also won't get localized...

Yeah, I have no reason to be excited for this.

Don't be so sure guys, Atlus bringing over Stella Glow, which is a Sega IP, AND their first since being bought by them SUBSTANTIALLY raises the chances of at least a NA release.
