"I haven't even done that yet." Homura says. "You can't blame me for something I didn't do."

"I still don't think what the other me did was evil..."

[Klinsy]

Punchy introduced the contest:

Punchy: "Hello and welcome to our first town wide pun off!"

Dreamy: "... That's our contest? Making awful puns?"

Punchy: "Of course not, Dreamy ... we're making AMAZING PUNS!"

[Failinhearts]

"Pun off." Sonic chuckles. "I don't see them being very punny. Eh? Ehhhh?"

Tails looks at his brother, disappointed. "No."

Calamity stumbled in. There was a lollipop stuck to her face and she was covered in maple syrup. "I heard puns and I came running-" She noticed them staring at her. "Just don't ask. Star is, uh, embroidering her... index cards."

"So index are made of candy now? Fascinating." Tails sarcastically says.

Sonic pats him on the back. "I dunno, it makes her cards all the more sweeter! Ehhh?"

"Please stop." Homura replies.

"No, I meant- Ah, never mind, it's kind of a whopper," Calamity said. "...But seriously, you really don't want to know. It was messy."

[Failinhearts]

"Whopper? But burgers aren't candy!" Sonic says to Calamity.

Sayaka walks in between the two. "Guys, guys. Stop having a food fight!"

Sonic points both of his index fingers as Sayaka. "Ayyyyyy!"

"You don't know what whoppers are?" Calamity replied. "Dude, you need to try them. They're these little chocolate sphere things and they're a real ball."

[Failinhearts]

"I definitely know how to have a ball! In fact, I am a ball!" Sonic says. "It all comes full circle!"

"This will be painful..." Homura continues to complain.

"Come on, Homura, don't be such a square," Calamity said. "You don't need to act like you're cornered. Join us!"

[Klinsy]

Hsien-Ko sat up at the judge bench:

Hsien-Ko: "I shall be the judge, xie xie!"

Rosie: "You don't really seem like the pun type."

Hsien-Ko: "My puns are so good, they knock em dead!"

Homura groans. "You guys are getting me angry. You could say I'm fuming!" She says, getting out her flamethrower. "Now you're making me do it!"

[Klinsy]

Meowkie wanted to know the rules:

Meowkie: "So, what exactly do we do? Are we on teams or somethin'?"

Hsien-Ko: "We'll divide you into brackets, the tournament doesn't actually start till everyone who wants to sign up does."

Rosie: "I'm not quite sure who's going to win here..."

[Failinhearts]

"I'm gonna win this thing! I'm gonna spit you losers out like gum and there's nothing chew can do about it!" Sonic laughs.

Homura facepalms. "You're really stretching it."

[Klinsy]

Rosie, Punchy, Meowkie, Dreamy and Valkyrie signed up:

Meowkie: "I'm a bit stiff on the pun stuff, but it could be fun."

Valkyrie: "You'll do great pal! I bet it on my favorite number being 17!"

Dreamy: "Who in the world has a favorite number?"

[Failinhearts]

"People could have their favorite number. You could even consider them... number 1?" Sayaka says. "Maybe I should keep count of my favorite numbers."

"Careful, Sayaka. There might be too much to calculate!" Sonic replies.

[Klinsy]

Hsien-Ko announced the lineup:

Hsien-Ko: "The brackets are Rosie vs. Dreamy, Valkyrie vs. Punchy, Meowkie vs. Homura,  Madoka vs. Tails, Sonic vs. Calamity and Sayaka vs. Amane. .... We used a randomizer, okay."

Meowkie: "Hmm, it could be either way with my match, we don't make puns that match."

Dreamy: "Knowing Homura, she'll just throw the match so Madoka doesn't have any risk of losing."

[Failinhearts]

"I'd most likely try to defeat you and give up for Madoka once I face off against her." Homura flips her hair casually. "So don't think for a second I'll go easy on you."

"Like you have skills with puns..." Sonic says.

[Klinsy]

Rosie and Dreamy stepped up:

Hsien-Ko: "The theme for this match is ... space!"

Dreamy: "Puns must be a alien concept to you, Rosie."

Rosie: "Nah, I think they're far out!"

[Failinhearts]

"Space, eh? This'll be interesting." Tails says, grabbing popcorn.

"It sure will." Sayaka strokes her chin. "Guess this match will be... out of this world?"

[Klinsy]

Hsien-Ko issued a warning:

Hsien-Ko: "Keep your puns to yourself, don't want to anyone to steal them, wouldn't you?"

"And the winner of this round is ... Rosie!"

Dreamy and Rosie shook hands:

Dreamy: "You did better than expected, keep it up."

Rosie: "Thanks, I would say the same to you."

[Failinhearts]

"Looks like Val and Punchy are up next." Sonic says. "Best of luck, you two! May the best pun maker win!"

[Klinsy]

Hsien-Ko announces the next theme:

Hsien-Ko: "The theme for this round is ... rocks!"

Punchy: "To win this one, I got to be boulder than I usually am."

Valkyrie: "That's pretty good! Keep rolling them on!"

[Failinhearts]

"If only Bash was here. He loves talking about rocks." Sonic then makes his voice gruff and deep to imitate the Earth Dragon. "Rock, rock, rock, rock! He'd always say!"

[Klinsy]

Hsien-Ko announced the winner:

Hsien-Ko: "And the winner is ... Punchy!"

Punchy: "Neat! ... But that means I'm going to face Rosie in the next round."

Valkyrie: "Don't worry, it's not going to be a fight between friends, it's just for fun!"
