Reputation Icons, Forum Listing

If you've opened a topic or accessed the main forum listing index, you've probably noticed a couple little changes. For the sake of consolidating this, I'd like to mention them here:

For the main index, there are new icons noting read and unread forums (Sonic's head, essentially). These should be relatively easy to understand if you're used to the old ones, but I'd like feedback as to if they're clear enough to distinguish.

In topics, you'll see that you have a little icon on your posts to the left. These denote a character from the Sonic series and are a fun little addition to the reputation system. The icons are as follows:

• 12,500 Rep - Super Sonic
• 9,000 Rep - Sonic
• 8,000 Rep - Eggman
• 7000 Rep - Shadow
• 6000 Rep - Rouge
• 4,500 Rep - Tails
• 3,500 Rep - Knuckles
• 2,000 Rep - Amy
• 1,000 Rep - Cream
• 250 Rep - E-102
• 0 Rep - Chaos

These icons are displayed based on the lower number - for instance, a rep of 3,900 will display the Knuckles icon. You would need to pass 4,500 to have the Tails one display.

Edit: Adjusted the values to be positive instead of negative. Moved some around and increased E-102/Super.

We still have users with negative reputation counts from back when downvoting was possible, though I'll adjust the numbers a bit and push those into positive ground to make them obtainable since that's a result of me being really tired.

This is a travesty.  Someone of Eggman's caliber deserves to be above Super Sonic, not below everyone else.

 

I kid, I kid...sort of This is pretty neat though.

We have to put Pelly in some group.

Anyway, I like them overall. They're small and non-intrusive, but still clearly distinguishable as the corresponding character.

I just have two complaints. The blue div for them shows up in the profile's reputation bar, which is that green color. Mayhaps transparency is in order? Also Shadow represents a negative score. Seriously, I came in this topic to have a good time and honestly I'm feeling so attacked right now.

The adoption of the heads for read/unread looks gorgeous and really adds to the forum's feel despite being a small aesthetic, I think.

I like these changes a lot.  It now feels like an overall Sonic forum, and not just IPB reskinned with some Sonic elements.

And also, the reputation characters are pretty cool.  Gives it a more visual and interesting feel instead of just a number.

That, or I remain a big drip.

 

And the Sonic heads are a really neat addon. They make the forums overall more Sonic-like, and that's what it should be.

These changes only make the forum better!

It's nice. I like how you have Sonic and Eggman right next to each other.

Would like a feature to "lock" the image, if you reached a rank. Let's say you like Knuckles, but you keep receiving rep, eventually you'll pass Knuckles. However, if you "lock" him, you can stay as Knuckles, even when reaching Tails rank in rep. Probably not possible, but it'd be nice. Because I want to stay as Eggman forever... when I get 8k rep. It'll be a while.

 

I better get used to having Cream lol
