Commercials that have nothing to do with what's being advertised.

Got the idea from a similar topic I saw on another website and decided to share with you.

You see a commercial, and sometimes the scenario that's happening is pretty obscure and you can't really tell what they're apparently advertising. You don't find out until the end, usually when a random person shows up and explains everything in an attempt to somehow make the two have appear to have a connection.

So what commercials have you seen that make no sense to what they're apparently advertising?

For me personally, most car commercials are a guilty culprit of this, especially

in particular that I found.

So share your experiences!

Anything that has to do with tampons and sexual diseases is pretty much fair game.

Those Esurance ads never really made too much sense. It was like super spy/basketball/skiing while randomly talking about insurance.

I liked Erin though so I can't hate.

This, you can consider the posterboy for commercials that make no sense whatsoever.

Most, if not ALL car commercials, that's for sure. XP Here's two good examples.

Singin' in the rain?

Cadbury's are even stranger. But I have to admit they are pretty damn entertaining, especially this one!

That gorilla is famous now. ^.^

I can't stand commercials, one of the reasons I do not watch television that much these days. I do have a Tivo, but it's just annoying to go through those commercials.

Yeah, I noticed a lot of car commercials include shit that doesn't have to do with the product at all. Who are they hiring in the advertising/marketing department?

Oh yes and those cavemen in the Geico commercials are really screwy and what does that have to do with car insurance or anything? Plus I hate that one commercial where there's money with googly eyes and it sings that stupid 80's song that Rockwell sang. I know about these commercials whenever I go past the TV in my family room and plus I also hear it when I'm up in my room.

Ugh, how I hate these kinds of commercials. Honestly, when the commercial is irrelevant, it discourages me from buying the product. I expect an advertisement to, you know, tell me what I'm being offered and why I should spend my money on it. I don't need to hear about goddamn cavemen.

Oh man you don't like that song. I swear that song is the best thing to come out of a commercial since 'remind me'.....which was also guico.

Eventhough someone already said this, lety me go in detail on the Valtrax commercials.

Person A(said with a smile): I have herpes

(The rest of the commercial is just two people riding a bike in a park)

Car commercials are the most dumb ever.

But I must say, in defense of these commercials, some of these are really funny. Mostly just the Skittles' and Snickers' commercials. Candy for the win. I'd say my favorite commercial is the guy who switches the singing rabbit for the Skittles.

I died laughing.

OH DON'T FORGET THOSE WEIRD QUIZNO THINGS. I only saw them late night though.

Even though it does have to with the product, it doesn't really explain much of the product at all. Don't know if it counts.

Eh, I remember seeing the Head On! one a few months back! It's so stupid and annoying. XD

And that car/energy drink/screamer advert...oh God...I hate that one especially. Someone once tricked me with it, and I almost had a heart attack. .__. Then again, I loathe screamers in general.

I actually really like that Land Rover ad. Most car adverts will have nothing to do with the car because you can't protray what it's like to drive it without being artistic about it, so they often seem to have nothing to do with the car when actually they are trying to sell you a feeling. I love ads like the Land Rover one, and I loved the ITV ad they showed at the cinema before Harry Potter.

I just hate ads where they're badly acted/animated and/or the actors seem to be shouting rather than talking. Gives me a headache T__T

I remember seeing this as kid, and thinking how incredibly fucked up it is.

Some of the PS3 adverts I saw doesn't seem make sense. Usually it shows the console and something weird happens.

Seriously? WTF? Demonic robot babies?

If only the real PS3s had psychokinesis. That'd be worth five hundred ninety nine US dollars. =(

...That baby is FREAKY! *shudder* D: PS3 has the strangest adverts..

Here's another one I found which, when I first saw it on tv, actually made LOL in a "What the hell?!" kind of way. It's for Drench water, and it...well, consists of Brains from Thunderbirds dancing to Rhythm is a Dancer in a creepy puppety way and at only one point drinks a bottle of Drench. Yeeeah...and a great pun there at the end too. =]

Oh man! The SpongeMonkeys! (We love these subs! These Quizno's Subs!)

That commerical was so weird that it actually gotten me into Quiznos.:P

Speaking of Quiznos, what about that one new one for the Torpedos.

"Oven: Scott, I want you to do something for me...

Scott: Not doing that again, got burned.

Oven: We both enjoyed that.

Scott:...

Oven: Put it in me..."

Wow... A relationship, heterosexual or homosexual, just seems odd with a man and a ... talking oven. But was it this is? An add for subs or Kitchen porn?

Also, how about this! Those new Snicker commericals. Preferably this one with Patrick Ewing.

Besides the obvious pun, I can't help but go WTF?!

And last, but not least... this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wbxrv3uj9JY I can feel my brain cells melting... like... Chocolate-dipped bicycles... uuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrr....
